Well my nausea isn't so bad today unless it cranks up later so Ive already made the executive decision to get a take away tonight. Currently trying to decide what I want. But I have a hunch I probably won't want it when it's in front of me. I'm more interested in not cooking. There's only so many times a girl can clean the kitchen during the day...

calimommy · 10/02/2017 22:30

Had another app today, fairly rubbish pic because my bladder was too full but still good to see growth and a raising heart rate. They've pushed back (or rather forward) my dates but only by a few days.

I spoke too soon about todays nausea. I came home from work to find hubby watching a cookery programme - that alone proper set me off!!!!

In awe of all of those working full time, especially the teachers. I'm finding it bad enough to work my 4-5 hours in the afternoon / evening.

Dixiechick1991 · 10/02/2017 22:58

Wow so many teachers. I'm in primary though so I can't leave them if there's no one around I just have to do the weewee dance & wait!
I'm starting to feel anxious about my scan on Tuesday now - the 1 in 4 statistic is flying around everywhere!! I think what makes it worse is that I know 3&half weeks ago there was s little kidney bean there with a heart beat so now I feel like there'd be more to lose

Gotta keep calm!

flymo79 · 11/02/2017 05:51

Dixie try to remember that the odds are in your favour. I know it's hard.

Sickness can just do one today. Am so sick of feeling sick! Dh has taken dd out for lunch and I so desperately need a rest (bad uncomfortable night) but I really want to eat what they're having!! Argh. Dry toast for me instead...
Can I ask what's getting other people through nausea?? I don't seem to be able to stomach anything I've been eating these past few weeks, the thought just reminds me of how gross I feel all the time

EssentialHummus · 11/02/2017 05:55

Well I'm up for the day Angry fly orange juice/citrusy things work for me.

MrsY87 · 11/02/2017 07:06

Just catching up on the new thread! Sorry so many of you are still feeling sick, I hope it starts to ease off for you soon. the nausea seems to be tailing off for me now which I'm thankful for, but my mouth tastes constantly horrible and nothing I eat or drink is satisfying! The thirst is still ridiculous too but reading through seems like it's pretty common!

Cali I agree that maybe your friend is having some troubles and is feeling a bit jealous of your news. My SIL told me she was pregnant (in a very public way) before Christmas after she knew I'd had two mc only a couple of months before and whilst I managed to get out a 'congratulations hope your feeling ok, when are you due' didn't really ask much else as it hurt me too much to talk about it. Not that I'm not happy for them but just was sad for myself if you know what I mean. I'm sure she will be happy for you and more interested once she has had time to process your news if it is something like that.

Have another scan with the consultant we are seeing privately on Thursday and then nhs scan on the 24th so not long to go until either now!

Have my PIL, BIL, SIL & their kids staying all weekend, have decided not to tell them although I'm sure they realised I was drinking water out my wine glass last night! Oh well, they'll have to keep guessing a little longer! Still feeling quite anxious so not sure if we will even tell that many people after the 12 week scan, but I suppose we should tell family at some point before I next see them with a bump! 😂 is everyone else sharing the news after their scans?

Fluffywallow · 11/02/2017 07:06

Fly it's rough isn't it - the pleasure has completely gone out of eating for me which is miserable. My diet varies daily but I find I can stomach coco pops for breakfast, apple juice or lime cordial in water throughout the day and then, I have to admit, I've had quite a thing for chicken pie these past few weeks so have often had that for dinner. Can't tolerate any sauces so food is generally dry carb based stuff!

Mini breadsticks from Tesco and bananas are also a staple. Occasionally a Skyr yoghurt. It's really very dull!

But like with my DD I'm finding its trial and error. Have you been to the shops to see if anything takes your fancy?

Dixie the odds are definitely in your favour, keep positive.

Great news on the scan Cali

10+1

ADuckNamedSplash · 11/02/2017 08:05

Dixie, I read that the 1 in 4 statistic applies to miscarriages generally, but the odds of an MMC are much lower - i.e. generally if you've had a loss, you know that something's not right. So if you have no reason to think anything is wrong, your chances are a lot better than the 1 in 4 stat.

Amz26 · 11/02/2017 08:22

I feel the same way as you Dixie I'm very nervous as well! It was 5weeks since I saw my little kidney bean and like you said it does make it hard 🤔 I think once you see a heartbeat the chance of an MC after 8 weeks are around 1%.. so the odds are Defo better :)

MrsY87 I will Defo tell people at 12 weeks as I'm struggling to hide my bump already.. I've told my Close family already but will let everyone else know after the scan.. when do you think you'll tell people then? X

HellsBellsK · 11/02/2017 08:27

Great scan Cali

Fly carbs are my friend when I feel sick. Pasta, toast etc. Loads of water also - I am always so thirsty!

Dixie I know its so hard. I am the same - I am great a reassuring my friend who is 3 weeks behind me but I don't take my own advice and relax.

I am just so tired the last week or so. In bed from 9 most nights.
We are going out tonight for dinner with another 2 couples - I will probably fall asleep in my dinner.
It is going to be hard to hid the not drinking and then trying to go home after - as they want to go for another few drinks after.
Going to say I have a lot of college work to do tomorrow so not going to crazy.
I am sure they will guess - But don't want to tell them till after our 12 week scan on Wednesday.

MrsY87 · 11/02/2017 08:32

Dixie the consultant I'm seeing told me that once you've seen a heartbeat the risk of mc drops significantly and that after 8 weeks it is around 1% so odds are on your side. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know.

Amz will prob tell people when we see them but won't do a big announcement or fb post. My parents and two close friends know already. With DD i was desperate to tell people think I'm just feeling more anxious this time. Also I want to keep it quiet at work until I've had my bonus paid which isn't until about 16 weeks so I'll just have to hope I don't start showing too much...as it's my second I'm probably being optimistic!

whitwoochantelle · 11/02/2017 08:40

hello everybody , im so slow at keeping up with this board i feel like im missing loads! any body know if theirs a facebook group knocking around for you lovely lot?

glad every ones sickness is starting to ease, ive gone from praying to the toilet god 7/8 times a day to nothing!!
I've got a early scan today as im a bit of a worrier.

ive got no interest in food what so ever but im constantly hungry and the thirst is killing me slowly im sure haha i cannot be quenched !

puttingourhoodupdown · 11/02/2017 09:17

We'll tell friends etc after the 12 week scan but I won't be doing a Facebook announcement. I didn't know about those stats so the 1% makes me feel a little more relaxed as I saw a heartbeat yday and I'm 8 weeks today! Happy Saturday all

Gingerbreadmam · 11/02/2017 09:22

im either 9+3 or 9+1 had two early scans both fine but im going to hold off till had screening results before telling friends etc.

close family know. some have probably blabbed. work know too as i have had to have time off already.

Jellybabie3 · 11/02/2017 09:26

Morning all Smile i have reached 8 weeks today (hoorah) so quite pleased about that. Like the rest if you i am struggling with constant nausea 😞 and real difficulty finding anything i can drink aa water is leaving me with a horrible taste in my mouth. Hope it starts to go soon. Im pretty much living off bread (peanut butter or marmite sarnies) plain crisps and digestive biscuits.....

Frillyhorseyknickers · 11/02/2017 09:32

Morning. Been up since about 5 to get the horses ready for hunting and scrub dog shut off of the kitchen floor - she must have eaten something dodgy Confused

OH is driving me a bit crackers this week because he just doesn't get it? Because I dont look pregnant, he can't seem to understand why I can't carry on at the same pace I did before I got pregnant. I'm not riding today so I think I'll send him on his merry way and then go back to bed!

Snowing here, not the nicest of Saturdays!

Heyitsholly · 11/02/2017 09:51

Witwoochantelle. Send me a dm with your fb name and dp pic. Or you fb email and ill add you to the fb group

sherbertlemon17 · 11/02/2017 09:59

Morning all, 8 weeks here today too. Still feeling sticky as well, but am managing to eat fairly normally. I seem to just have nausea this time round, so although I feel sick I know I need to eat if I am keeping it down.

Just a bit of a heads up for the teachers planning on not going back after the holidays, you will be probably made to take your maternity leave from the beginning of the school holidays... my SIL is due in July, and is being made to take maternity from the end of term 6. I also had a colleague who was due 31st August a few years ago and she had to do the same.

I'm hopefully planning to go back for a week or maybe just the staff development days so I get paid normally for the holidays.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 11/02/2017 10:13

holly is the Fb group secret? I'd quite like to join but obviously don't want any of my Fb friends to see!

Fluffywallow · 11/02/2017 11:56

I got my dh to go and get me a French stick this morning and am slightly regretting it now. It keeps calling me and making me eat it....bloody carb cravings Confused

MrsK8541 · 11/02/2017 12:03

Can't beat the carbs! I'm sat on the sofa dipping Pringles into (light) Philadelphia 😁

Fluffywallow · 11/02/2017 12:11

Oh mrs that sounds heavenly!

Dixiechick1991 · 11/02/2017 12:18

Thanks everyone for the mini pep talks about the statistics
I'm feeling awful today - ravenous but sicky and don't want anything. Eaten two yoghurts, a pack of French fries & a satsuma yet I still feel empty.
Husband just doesnt understand he asked if I wanted to go out for dinner (because we've got nothing in) I can't think of anything worse than leaving the house & I feel awful for snapping at me

Travelgeek · 11/02/2017 12:19

I'm liking the stats you ladies have re: after 8 weeks and after seeing a heartbeat. Even though I'm 10 weeks today with plenty of nausea and we saw a heartbeat last monday I do still worry. Also, quite a few people know now and whilst they are all people I wouldn't mind knowing if something went wrong I still wonder if we said too much too soon. Just both sets of parents, my siblings and my two best friends, but still.

I cannot figure out what want to eat today. I almost cried wandering around the supermarket trying to find something I want for lunch. We have loads of food in too, but nothing appeals. I need something though as it does make the nausea ease. Its just feels like hard work :(

I hope DH gets the message thst you have to go easy some days frilly I'm not sure mine really gets it either. He is supportive but at the same time I feel bad that I head up to bed super early or don't want much of what he made for tea. Maybe thats just me feeling bad that I'm not my usual self.
