I had my scan this morning and it was such an amazing experience! I couldn't believe how wriggly the baby was! I'm 11+6 by LMP but measuring 12+2, so my due date is now 30 August.

We've now told other family members and close friends. I'm going to wait another week before announcing the news at work though, as I'm off today and a lot of my colleagues are off as soon as I get back (half term).

Fly its a deal, everything is crossed.
As you say duck you will always find the bad... Now I just need to be positive.
And congrats on the scan - its such a clear picture!

I told people today, its great getting it out and to stop making excuses etc - 13 weeks tomorrow.

littlepooch · 17/02/2017 13:00

Ah lots of scans! Lovely news! Mine is on Tuesday - anyone else that day? Starting to feel quite nervous, I just hope everything is ok.

DH wants to start telling people after the scan if all is well, I'd rather wait until we get the testing results back. We can't agree. In particular he wants to tell his mum. She's got a mouth on her like the dartford tunnel, so telling her we might as well tell the whole world (like she did with one of my MCs hence why Im so bitter towards her and probably being unreasonable I know).

flymo79 · 17/02/2017 13:02

Great scan duck! And fab news on being further on! (Though now we will have to formally 'adopt' you into September!!) I'm chuffed for you!!

ringroads · 17/02/2017 13:37

Katurah, I had my ds in 2015 too they tested from his umbilical cord and got his blood group from there, so maybe worth asking for this time?

Duck that is such a cute scan pic almost like their sucking their thumb, will you find out girl or boy?

My scan is on monday super excited to see my bubba x

charlij91 · 17/02/2017 13:52

Amazing scan pics everyone- it's so lovely to see all these little ones after what seems so long for us waiting!

I have my scan on Monday morning and I'm not sure if anyone else has felt like this but I'm so nervous. My symptoms have pretty much disappeared in the last 2 weeks (I'm 12+5) apart from my boobs still being a bit sore and tiredness, but I think I've mentally prepared myself for them to tell me I've had a MMC.

With the engagement and everything a couple of weeks ago I just feel so overwhelmed with so much good news, I've convinced myself something bad is going to happen Sad

Fluffywallow · 17/02/2017 14:40

Such lovely scans everyone and fly I can't believe he just came out with 'it's a boy!' just like that! Were you planning to find out anyway?

Charli I hear you with the worry. In fact I was sitting here this morning saying to myself 'as your scan is a week away now is the time to start mentally preparing for the worst'. Despite knowing the risks are low, feeling ill (though not as bad as I was) and growing a bump I will STILL worry until I see a healthy scan. It's all consuming. You're not alone Flowers

Anyway...in the name of positivity...will anyone be getting a private gender scan?? I'm debating whether to or not...might see what date I get for 20 week scan and see if I feel I can wait that long!!

oliversmummy26 · 17/02/2017 14:52

duck what a gorgeous scan picture!

fluffy I think we might get a private gender scan, babybond does them from 16 weeks, I'll be 16+1 on mother's day and thought it would be nice to find out then..I also really want to take my 4 year old to a scan as I think he'll find it fascinating, and can't take him to any of the nhs ones..

So excited about finally getting to 12 weeks (in 1 week from tomorrow!) DH and I were chatting yesterday when we had our belated Valentine's dinner and we're both crazy excited. He's finally talking about cots and pushchairs and names which is great Smile

Still that little niggle in the back of my mind though that there will be something wrong at the 12 week scan despite having two good scans so far. We are definitely going to wait for screening results before telling anyone else though..

Kskifred · 17/02/2017 14:59

I have left 3 voicemails with midwife team, one with maternity and just been into my drs to get an appointment with midwife for next Thursday when she is in surgery, to chase up in person as no one is returning calls, and apparently they can't directly book appointments...if they hadn't have directly booked me in without a referral in the first place i wouldn't be having this problem! I'm really disappointed as feel like by the time anyone acknowledges me for a scan it will be too late for nuchal testing etc, i don't know if it's hormones but feeling really angry today! I would book privately but they don't do extensive scanning like you have medically with nhs, not that i can find locally anyway. Arghhhh feel like crying Angry

Londonexhile · 17/02/2017 15:46

Whereabouts in the country are you ksk? Not that you should have to but The Birth Company (Harley street) does the nunchal scan for £170

grainmum · 17/02/2017 17:09

ksk could you try calling the Secretary at your GP practice? They might know who to call to check you are in the system.

roobois · 17/02/2017 17:26

Wow this whole process is so exciting! Seems I'm further along than I thought at 13+3! All looks good though Grin

I'm loving all the scan pictures! Congrats everyone on the fantastic scans. 💗

Amz26 · 17/02/2017 17:35

Such lovely scan photos ladies I'm glad everything went ok for you today!

So today is even worse my boss has just even me 4 weeks notice to find another job and I had to tell them I'm pregnant!

Been crying for the last few days and now really worried about my baby as I'm so stressed 😭😭

Fluffywallow · 17/02/2017 17:56

oliver thanks for the tip off about babybond - there's one not too far away from us and its £100 cheaper than my other option! Will book up after the 12 week scan for the end of March Grin

amz how awful - what is the reason they've given you about your job? Not what you need right now!

Just had to meet up with some of my 'mummy' friends - who i suspect think i'm pregnant anyway...but it was a bit tricky hiding my bump/carb belly. they must think i've put on weight and are too polite to say anything Grin

Lovely scan pic roobois Smile

Kskifred · 17/02/2017 18:04

Lovely scan pics everyone

Amz that is rubbish, so did you tell them you were pregnant before they let you go? I think i remember you saying they suspected you were before, are you a nanny? If they have and that's why that is really shitty. Hope you get sorted and this is easier said than done but try not to get too stressed about it.

Amz26 · 17/02/2017 18:15

Yes I'm a nanny..Well my boss is inbeetween jobs ATM and she said that they can't afford a nanny as she's not working! But plans to keep looking..I told her after she told me that I was pregnant! Wish I told them before now as they wouldn't be able to do this! I really thInk they knew and they've done this to get out of maturity pay! But how do I prove that.. I've got a meeting with citizens advice on the 28th. This week has be awful and I'm really worried about the future now! Who's going to employ a pregnant women!!! 😔

SJ2ndTimeMummy · 17/02/2017 18:31

Hi All, I've been very quiet but reading daily! I'm 9+6 currently but don't have a scan until the 9th March. I don't have many symptoms - I didn't with my DS - but I have real anxiety it's different this time. A long wait to see.

Amz I wanted to say it's all pretty complex, I cannot imagine how you're feeling but I'm a Head of HR and depending on your contract if you've been employed for 6 months or more you should still be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay. I would check ACAS or Gov.co.uk but i'm sure you are covered. I would then head a temp agency for work during your pregnancy and be honest with them - by taking contracts you can be open about your needs and still work, and more importantly enjoy you Mat leave with Mat pay.

Off to eat pizza as it's carbs or nothing here!

Fluffywallow · 17/02/2017 18:50

Amz I work in hr too and I would suggest you enquire at your meeting with the cab about maternity allowance - if you've worked for 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before baby is due you are likely to be eligible. It's not dissimilar in amount to smp and is there to help self employed people or people who have worked but loose their job/are made redundant whilst pregnant (therefore possibly not meeting the criteria for smp in a new job)

www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance/what-youll-get

calimommy · 17/02/2017 19:04

Aw I'm sorry amz, that is really shitty. Don't worry about bub, it won't be affected my your tears!

Amz26 · 17/02/2017 21:47

Thanks for all your help ladies, I will definitely be doing some reaching over the weekend.. Most importantly I hope I get some good results about my bloods test on Monday! Think it's going to be a long weekend x

OkyDoke · 17/02/2017 22:19

Oh Amz, so sorry to hear your news about the job. Sounds like youve got some good advice about CAB though. Hope the appointment goes well.

Hells, im 13 weeks tomorrow too! :)

I got my screening results back today after scan on Tuesday. Low risk for all three, risk is less than one in 10,000. Such a relief. Bought my first baby item today - a newnorn sleeping bag in the Sainsburys Tu sale. Anyone else started buying?

flymo79 · 17/02/2017 22:35

Sorry about the stress Amz, loads of good advice here and don't worry about bub, women are pregnant in war zones remember!
Fluffy we definitely would've found out the sex, just so funny he blurted it! Good story for telling the relatives when we get round to it!
Welcome SJ2nd!
Oky I can't bring myself to buy stuff yet but we will need loads as, despite dd, we'll need to start from scratch. Lots of mummies leaving in the summer to change jobs though so hopefully they will want to leave me lots of things! I totally went second_hand crazy with dd!!
