Lovely bump and scan pics ladies,

Amz is your blood group RH Negative? If so you will need anti D injections at 20 something weeks and after baby is born if their blood group is different to yours, really nothing to worry about x

calimommy · 16/02/2017 15:13

amz technically speaking you want a positive antibody test because it means your immune to something. So either your body has created a natural immunity to it or you got a vaccination for it.
What was your midwife referring to? Your Rhesus factor?

oliversmummy26 · 16/02/2017 15:25

I've just been reading up on the NT test and screening results on babycentre and it's saying that from 2018 everyone will be offered the NIPT test..gutted!

Amz26 · 16/02/2017 15:58

Ring+ cami I have no idea if I'm positive or negative! The midwife was not very clear.. All she said was it was my antibodies test came back inconclusive and I need to come back tomorrow for more bloods! :( being pregnant is so stressful!
Today as been a shitty day! Not only for the reason above!

Hope everyone else is having a better day :) x

Frillyhorseyknickers · 16/02/2017 16:02

EURGH! This afternoon has been a coffee or sleep kind of afternoon - I'm fairly sure I've reached my limit with this one stand-your-spoon-up-in-the-coffee type brew I've bade.

I'm knackered! Just me and the dog in the office this afternoon (best ever!) but I'm working from a client office so I've got a 50mile drive home at 5.30 :(

I've already decided when I get home I'm having a bath and an early night. Day off tomorrow - yey!

Fluffywallow · 16/02/2017 17:12

Lovely to see scans and bumps!!!!

Sickness has eased here over the past few days but I think I tried to be 'normal' today so have wiped myself out and made myself feel sick again. Lesson learnt - take things easier until it's definitely passed.

Having odd aches today, almost in my (tmi) bottom - it's weird. But I am trying to blame it on doing too much rather than anything sinister.

Scan a week tomorrow. Expect the next week will crawl by!

10+6

WhatwouldRuthdo · 16/02/2017 17:21

I've caved and put on my work maternity trousers. They don't look maternity (luckily) but have a nice elasticated waste. Aah the comfort. The shapeless old maternity bras will also be coming out, much to my DH's disgust!
12 weeks today for me.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 16/02/2017 17:21

Waste? Waist of course!

Fluffywallow · 16/02/2017 17:29

Oh yes what maternity clothes out in force here too....the elasticated waist is a godsend. And don't get me started on the joys of my maternity bras....

calimommy · 16/02/2017 17:50

amz they could have just bungled up the sample. X

WhatwouldRuthdo · 16/02/2017 18:08

Fluffy I do have a lot of love for the maternity bras!
Hope tomorrow is a better day Amz

turtletum · 16/02/2017 18:13

I'm absolutely shattered too. Sleeping 8 hours but feel I could sleep way longer. I'm already in maternity and sports bras and I'm only 8+4. I had my early scan today which went well. Heard the heartbeat too, which was very reassuring. Feeling much more upbeat after my grump the other day. I'm a mess of roller coaster hormones!

ADuckNamedSplash · 16/02/2017 18:27

11+5 today - not much improvement in sickness yet, but my appetite is slowly improving.

12 week scan tomorrow! I haven't had an early scan so this will be our first glimpse. Excited but also a little apprehensive - hope everything is ok!

sherbertlemon17 · 16/02/2017 19:02

Loving the scan and bump pics!

8+6 and I could seriously sleep for Britain! I'm fine in the mornings, but come 8pm every night once DD is in bed I'm absolutely wiped! Falling asleep on the couch most nights isn't doing much for my back Confused

I think after our scan I'm going to buy DD a big sister T Shirt and let her loose in it and see who notices Grin

Katurah · 16/02/2017 21:33

I'm rhesus negative and the rest for babies blood type didn't exist when I have my son in 2015. I had the anti d injections and that was a far as I thought about it! Now it's just something else to worry about😳

I'm gutted NIPT test isn't available on NHS now. I will pay for it if my NHS figures are high risk but I think it should be available to all - especially older mums!

Travelgeek · 16/02/2017 21:38

I too could sleep and sleep. Lie in in the morning, lunchtime nap and an early night all sound good.

Felt less sick the last couple of days but trying not to act 'normal' and overdo it as a result.

I bought a couple of non wired bras a few weeks ago and cant imagine bearing the discomfort of one of my usual bras at the moment. They are much prettier though :(

Hope the bloods get sorted amz. I already knew I am rhesus negative from giving blood in the past so the midwife said about the anti-D injections needed later on.

Wishing my scan was this coming Monday, not a week on Monday as having less sickness plus some odd twinges has been a bit worrying. I know they are likely just stretching/relaxing but still.

Thats a really cute idea sherbert. I wonder how observant people are!

Amz26 · 16/02/2017 22:06

Thanks for all your comments ladies! I feel a little better now :) I will let you all know how it goes xx

n0ne · 16/02/2017 22:15

NIPT will be coming in here in the Netherlands in April or something, too late for me. You can go private which costs about €500 but you have to cross the border into Belgium to do it (mw did the whole "we're not having this conversation but" wink wink thing). Or if you do the combination test (nuchal fold measurement plus bloods) and come back with an elevated risk, then you can officially get the NIPT. Which is the route I'm going to take. So it replaces amniocentesis, unless you get a bad result from the NIPT and then you could still do amnio.

It's interesting to see the differences between 2 very similar, neighbouring countries.

Kskifred · 16/02/2017 23:26

So Midwife only comes into our surgery every thursday morning, left a message for her to call me and called the midwife number yeaterday and left a voicemail but no one has got back to me Sad getting really worried now I've fallen off the radar, i am 10 weeks today and no sniff of a scan date or booking in appointment. Any suggestions on who else i can call?

Basically it was all a big muck up, the dr receptionist booked me in directly with midwife rather than the usual gp referral channel, so i turned up for what i thought was my booking in app and she couldn't do it but wrote down my details and said to wait for apps in post...this was 3 weeks ago. Getting really frustrated now!

flymo79 · 17/02/2017 04:57

Just saw the doc after some cramping in the night, did a scan and he said 'oh it's a boy!! Err, do you want to know the sex??' I laughed and said I guess I do now! He said 'I'll put a question mark by it on your notes but it's the earliest I've ever seen what looks like a penis'
Haaaaaa!
Still got a big bleed next to where the placenta is forming so the cocktail of drugs continues...

Ksk have you tried ringing the maternity unit at the hospital where you'd have the scan? I had to ring them direct when I needed to change my scan date. Worth a try.

I'm also exhausted and sleeping for England. Bed at 9pm and up at 6am...and usually tempted for a nap in the day when I'm not at work and my DD is napping. This definitely improved in second trimester last time though (like pretty much every symptom!)

Scan a week today. Found out day after Boxing Day so it really feels like I've waited a lifetime!!

11 weeks today.

HellsBellsK · 17/02/2017 07:54

Ahh lovely scan fly and congratulation on a boy!! Can't believe he could tell at 10 weeks, amazing!

I had a little wobble yesterday because of google Blush
At my 12 week scan just at the end my consultant said, the placenta is covering your cervix - don't worry its so early and it has loads of time to move.
Then yesterday it pop into my head so I googled, it was a bad idea. Found not so great stories etc.
The doctor didn't tell me to take it easy, no sex or exercise but thats what is all over google. People on bed rest etc.
Have to go back in 4 weeks anyway as I have a form of spina bifida so they want to check the babies spine to make sure its ok so hopefully it will have moved by then.
SO now I have two things to worry about Sad

Sorry for the moan of a post... I need to be positive HAPPY FRIDAY xx

kep1979 · 17/02/2017 09:52

So exciting seeing all of the lovely scans. I'm sleeping the clock around too; in bed before 9 every night and struggling to get up. Today is my working from home day so was hoping for a lie in, but the dog woke dd up at 6 so no chance Angry

I'm rhesus negative which is a pain; especially having the injections and then finding out that all three of my children are also rhesus negative!

I would say I'm feeling marginally better. Cleaning my teeth still makes me throw up every time, and I'm having the occasional mid afternoon vom session, but am feeling a bit less nauseous and managing to eat. It's a limited menu (cheese on toast!) but at least it is something!

flymo79 · 17/02/2017 11:38

Hells I also made the mistake of googling my subchorionic bleed, especially because it's next to the placenta, have convinced myself it's going to cause the placenta to fail... I'll keep everything crossed for you if you keep everything crossed for me!!

ADuckNamedSplash · 17/02/2017 12:43

flymo - Congrats on the news that it's a boy!!

Hells - Sorry to hear that. I know it's easy to worry, but remember that the internet focuses on things not going smoothly. There will be loads of women who were in your situation and the placenta moved and they had no problems, but you don't read about those cases online because there's not much to say. I hope your next scan puts your mind at ease.
