Yep, I washed and ironed all of DD's clothes before she was born. Ran the iron over blankets too... lovely crisp bedlinen...
and I kept up with most of her clothes at the weekend when hubby was home. Until I went back to work. I don't think I've touched the iron other than to move it out of the way for 6 months... Grin
I hate ironing normally, adult clothes are boring. Baby clothes are so cute to iron though! And I do still wish I had the time or energy to keep up with hers!

teainbed · 09/02/2017 19:49

I'm not great at doing ironing apart from my work clothes and the DC school uniform. Sheets very rarely but they get folded nice and flat after washing.

Sonnet18 · 09/02/2017 20:05

Just trying to catch up! Had to laugh at the hug for the first wee raspberry! Though sorry if tmi...it wasn't the first wee that terrified me...

EsmesBees · 09/02/2017 20:19

Ooh yes, I remember that particular terror Sonnet!

teainbed · 09/02/2017 20:24

After my first was born I had a terrible pooing experience Blush and so subsequent pregnancies I started taking a laxative as soon as I had given birth!

growcookeat · 09/02/2017 20:39

Interesting and slightly scary to hear the birth stories. But I agree with pp that knowing more about what could possibly happen puts my mind at ease.

Peach thanks for the heads up - we managed to pick up an almost new snuzpod (with bedsheets) from gumtree for £80 at the weekend! Don't think it's as old as the affected ones but will definitely double check the batch code.

Pretty pleased with my second hand haul - rocking chair, baby bouncer and snuzpod all looking great in nursery. Smile

I was given lactulose and fybogel in hospital and discharged with the same, I intend to use both again this time, there were no issues for me. Blush

coxsorangepippin · 09/02/2017 22:39

So far zero extra interest in cleaning or ironing here! Though we need to do enough clearing out to free up a few drawers at least Blush

lullaby23 · 10/02/2017 01:37

I haven't touched an iron in years Blush in fact when DH got the iron out to do a shirt the other week DS was terrified of it and the ironing board as he'd never seen it before!

Re: bilingualism sadly we don't have any other languages but it's such an excellent idea. If we were staying here longer we'd probably put DS in a playgroup that teaches mandarin. I read a book about speech development as the Dr wasn't happy with DS's lack of words at his 1 year check up (6 months later he had completely caught up and I was a bit pissed off that she had tried to worry us!) and it said it's really important to talk to your child in your native tongue irrespective of where you live www.amazon.co.uk/Babytalk-Sally-Ward-ebook/dp/B00B5TBI56/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1486690353&sr=8-1&tag=mumsnetforum-21

I took lactulose post birth and was fine but found the first wee difficult after catheter was removed as was very numb.

Missfab, your nursery looks, well, fab! Very modern looking, I love it!

MrsJW15 · 10/02/2017 09:07

Gorgeous MissFab!

I'm still away and enjoying the sun. 27 weeks today and feeling increasingly uncomfortable though. My ribs ache!

1004Rise · 10/02/2017 09:39

Missfab that looks awesome!

I have a bizarre fizzing feeling just at my sternum, is this just heartburn/indigestion in another form Blush

savagehk · 10/02/2017 09:43

1004 might be, or might be stuff expanding or baby sticking a limb/bum/head somewhere uncomfortable. (My ribcage permanently expanded after first baby, very tight-fitting clothes won't do up anymore - tried a dress to wear at a wedding and it wouldn't do up around part of my ribs - not a place where I have any fat, so it's my bones which have moved!)

MissMooMoo · 10/02/2017 10:04

missfab the nursery looks great!
I really wish DH would agree to make a start on ours. The walls are painted and there is a cot that needs assembling in there that I bought on fb for a tenner.
I also want to open up the next to me cot and make sure all the stuff is there.

Our boiler is being fixed today Smile I really can't wait for a nice long soak in the bath this afternoon/evening

RasperryInAMelon · 10/02/2017 10:34

Gorgeous nursery! 😍

Missfab2000 · 10/02/2017 11:00

Haha gin ours looked like that only a few weeks ago!

Rustler74 · 10/02/2017 11:24

Love that nursery missfab!
I wish we could start looking at nursery furniture but I think we will buy some ikea stuff like storage shelving units with baskets in them. A changing unit I will look into, as I really want a chest of drawers. Looking on groovystyle.co.uk which is fairly local and an independent trader so fingers x, otherwise baby show deal?

lucieloos · 10/02/2017 11:31

Love the nursery missfab where did you get the light shade from? Ive been trying to find a nice gender neutral one.

Missfab2000 · 10/02/2017 11:37

lucie it was from Laura Ashley in the sale not sure they do other colours though

EsmesBees · 10/02/2017 11:43

Haha Gin! That's a very on trend look Wink Ours is painted etc but is full of DH's tools which are due to go in the shed, when we get the garden sorted, plus it has no curtains as we are waiting for shutters to be fitted. Still, it's ages til May so not worried yet.

Ordered the crib today- Bednest rental coming two weeks before due date. I did have a vague thought earlier about washing some baby grows but then reminded myself it will be a lot less hassle when the weather is better and they can go on the line.
