MrsK the sense of smell is insane isn't it!!!! I'm washing clothes constantly as can't stand the smell if they're not freshly washed. I'm wondering if I can find a nice smelling spray (that I don't find offensive - going to be hard ATM) that I can carry around with me Grin

londonfeather · 20/01/2017 19:15

I still have no symptoms other than my boobs are massive!

Does anyone else have a feeling about sex- I have no idea why but I just "know" it is a boy.. that's what my brains saying anyway!

Pinkbottletop · 20/01/2017 19:19

Thanks Amz good luck on Sunday

london I have a feeling it's a boy but it's not a strong one

Shwighty1 · 20/01/2017 19:37

mrsy yup up at 4.30am every day I seem to fall back to sleep about 5.45!!

I went to the supermarket today and had to run through the aisle which had a load of scented candles. The stench made me wretch!!!!!!!

Tilly2017 · 20/01/2017 19:40

londonfeather yes I just 'know' mines a boy almost to the point of always calling bubs 'him'..... it's crazy and but just have an absolute gut feeling about it! My partner is at the other end though and predicts a girl.... the next few weeks are going to be fun until we can find out the gender on the scans!!

poco2015 · 20/01/2017 19:54

Completely symptomless still. My boobs looks much the same.

Amz26 · 20/01/2017 19:54

pinkbottletop Thanks I'm glad i booked it so late so I don't have to long to wait :)

tilly I keep saying to my OH I think I'm having twins.. And I think I will have boys! But I'm always wrong so I will prob have a girl 😀😀

OkyDoke · 20/01/2017 20:45

I am pretty symptomless too poco. Just tired. Boobs dont hurt at the moment and havent for a few days.

Got my 12 week scan date through though, valentines day! Lets hope all goes well. Had flu jab today as well on back of booking in appointment.

totallyLosingIt · 20/01/2017 21:10

So sorry TriJo Flowers take care of yourself

Symptomless here too, aside from a slightly achey back and feeling a tad more tired than usual.

SJ2ndTimeMummy · 20/01/2017 21:57

marking place after a long read to catch up!

6 weeks tomorrow and not one symptom other than sore boobs - but that is the same as pregnancy with DS so maybe just the way - and to be honest i'm grateful as it makes things that bit easier to hide! I did have some pretty heavy bleeding with DS at 6 weeks so thats on my mind but it did work out fine so keeping some perspective. Had a scan at 8 weeks with DS but won't have one unless offered this time - a long painful wait for me until the 9th March!! Booking appointment on the 1st Feb though so not too long for that and can get the ball rolling!

Work dinner next week - preparing the excuses now!

Lules · 21/01/2017 02:56

Was up again to look after toddler and now I can't get back to sleep because I'm worried about work, moving house (we're looking to buy somewhere), and hoping this pregnancy will go ok etc etc I know it's just because it's the middle of the night but it's like a spiral of anxiety.

calimommy · 21/01/2017 03:04

Everything is worse at night x just remember in the morning you will feel better.

Lules · 21/01/2017 04:53

Thank you. Did eventually get back to sleep but now he's woken up again.

ADuckNamedSplash · 21/01/2017 07:07

Hi all - sorry, I’ve not been posting much lately but have been trying to follow the thread, at least. Finding the combination of morning sickness and loss of appetite tough - lost 9lb so far and the nausea bands don’t seem to have any effect on me (though I’m continuing to wear them just in case!) On the plus side, it’s settled into a routine and I only throw up early morning or in the evening, so I’ve been able to keep things secret at work still.

Work want to send me to a conference next month, when I’ll be around 12 weeks. It will be a 6 hour round trip with an overnight stay and I really don’t feel up to it at the moment. Plus I don’t have my scan date yet and am worried about it clashing - I already need to make sure my scan isn’t on a Thursday because of work commitments and don’t want to have to narrow my availability further still. Any ideas on how to get out of it without having to reveal my pregnancy would be very welcome!

I’ve also developed a new symptom - pain in my hip (weirdly, only on the left) when I sleep. Anyone else getting that one? Google reckons that it’s to do with increased “relaxin” and the fact that I sleep on my side, but without my hips being parallel.

ADuckNamedSplash · 21/01/2017 07:08

Flowers Lules - hope you're feeling better now!

Good luck Mouselove and Amz for your scans this weekend!

My gut instinct about the sex is a boy too! Weird that none of us think we’re having girls!

Shwighty1 · 21/01/2017 07:14

aduck your nausea may completely disappear by the time the conference comes around. I remember 11 welds arriving last time and it was like a switch being turned on in tents of energy returning etc...

Fluffywallow · 21/01/2017 07:29

Aduck is it something you could pull out of further down the line if sickness is still bad? As swighty says you might be feeling a bit better by then. Mine went practically overnight at about 12 weeks last time.

Had a really rubbish day yesterday feeling so sick and not doing great parenting with my DD. It's so hard as she doesn't understand and just wants to play and climb all over me Confused

Also had an argument with my dh as it's almost like he refuses to sympathise or talk about this pregnancy until we have our scan. Honestly he doesn't have a clue what it's like to be in these early stages. Gah.

calimommy · 21/01/2017 07:48

Lules the struggle is real 👊

Kskifred · 21/01/2017 07:57

I feel so sick and dizzy this morning, still constipated too so feel like i've got a horrible stomach bug and taken immodium! Horrible feeling and very sorry for myself. Feeling guilty about my bad parenting too, my little live wire gets a bit bored staying in but i don't feel normal enough til gone lunch to move very far. Boo to this, i don't remember it getting me this down last time i think just certain smells got me a bit queasy rather than constant like this time.

flymo79 · 21/01/2017 08:18

Sorry to hear about those with lack of sleep, am also awake at stupid times and struggling to get back off. ADuck, I also had bad hip pain with my last pregnancy and am dreading it this time, a really good supportive pregnancy pillow can help... Not sure whether to invest in anything like that yet for myself... Also still tummy sleeping and I know i need to wean myself off it!!
Feeling pukey today. I know it's a good sign but I hate it!

Lules · 21/01/2017 09:10

Thanks duck and Cali. Feeling more rational now it isn't the middle of the night! Think I'm going to tell my mum today.

WhiteLily86 · 21/01/2017 10:12

London, poco, oky, totallylosingit, yay so glad I am not the only one! I am slightly more tired than normal and have heavy boobs, but not sore.

Have had my booking appointment and they said everyone is different, you are pregnant until you know otherwise!

Any of you getting early scans? I feel like everyone on here is, but I am not planning to until they can tell the sex, since I can't find out via NHS scan.

We should be thankful we don't have symptoms, but i assume it is more reassuring if I was hugging the toilet every morning ☹️

WhiteLily86 · 21/01/2017 10:13

Has everyone told people yet? How is everyone getting on keeping it a secret?

Dry January has been a godsend, great time of year. What on earth are we all going to do in Feb????

EssentialHummus · 21/01/2017 10:26

Morning all. Up again at 2am this morning, until 6. Why??

White I have told DH and my slightly more pregnant friend - I'm holding off until 12 weeks for everyone else.

londonfeather · 21/01/2017 10:27

I'm not getting an early scan, got my 12 week scan booked end of Feb so going to wait until then. I know it's not the logic of most people but I think an early scan would make me feel more nervous as it will make everything feel much more real.

Yes dry January has been the perfect excuse, doesn't stop me fancying a g&t though! Its my birthday in Feb so no drinking at my party! Booo! I'm really cautious about telling people too - haven't told anyone but DH yet and with the exception of one friend, don't think I will until after the scan.

I've preordered the mother of daughters book so looking forward to that arriving in the next few weeks - anyone reading anything useful/interesting?
