I'm eating everything in sight and can't go 2 hours without food but i'm not worrying about if until i feel better. I am much better than a few weeks ago though week 6 was horrendous!

Yesterday was such a low on parenting scale. Earned some mum points back today though - painting pictures, making cakes and singing songs at 8 followed by a floats and fun swimming session, then the funfair this afternoon Grin DH was at work so feeling proud of managing this solo!

I'm now in bed though it has done me in!

Disclaimer: this is not intended as a preachy post, just explaining my reasoning :) Regarding testing, I agree with you lily, I'm not having the nuchal test. I'm too logical! It's not a diagnosis, only a "likelihood", which is pretty much the exact same thing you know before you have the test (you already know that you may or may not have a baby with DS. Even with a "high" ratio result from the NT, like 1 in 10, 9 of those babies won't have DS. So in logical terms, you have learned exactly nothing). The only way to have any certainty about it is to do invasive testing, which I won't be doing due to risk of mc, or the very expensive tests we aren't going to pay for. So why do the NT at all? It is all beside the point for us as the baby will be loved and welcomed regardless. What I will do is read up on DS and development so that I am educated in case it turns out that way--there are difficulties but also plenty of up sides to DS, by the way! x

kep1979 · 05/02/2017 22:02

I had the Harmony test last time, and am booked in again to have it in three weeks. It is a NIPT, so not strictly diagnostic, however from my research it is extremely accurate. I like the fact that I can get the testing done early (test at 10 weeks and results around a week later). And I am 38 so the age factor will weight the results of the NHS tests and (imo) give unnecessary worry.

On the dtd front, we are a sex-free zone at the moment. I had a mc in March 2015 and it started the morning after dtd for the first time since BFP; I know completely coincidental but we waiting a long time in the last pregnancy before we plucked up the courage!

flymo79 · 05/02/2017 23:01

Also eating about every two hours, bread, crisps, rice and potatoes, noodles... I feel so grim in the mornings it is such a struggle to get upright and get dd ready!
So I used a canesten pessary last night (tmi coming up!) and now have pink discharge... Confused Hmm
Don't know whether to get it seen to, can't really face an internal exam but seems too much of a coincidence if I'm bleeding after the pessary treatment. Any tips?

Hi all - been a while since I checked in... 10+2 today and I think my morning sickness is finally starting to ease - still pretty nauseaus, but it's been several days since I was last physically sick. Just need my appetite to come back now.

Getting impatient for the scan and counting down the days, as well as hoping everything's ok.

Flymo - sorry to hear that! You seem unsure whether it is bleeding, or just pink discharge? If that is the case and there's not too much, you're probably OK to just keep an eye on it for now - I agree that it seems like a coincidence (assuming canesten is safe for use in pregnancy).

Gingerbreadmam · 06/02/2017 07:18

flymo not used a cannesten in ages but if my trush was particularly bad i always got that after using it.

if you are worried ring epu, they should be able to squeeze you in for a scan.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 06/02/2017 07:29

Morning all. I've woken up to a some brown discharge Sad. Not really sure what to do - just monitor it? 7+6

flymo79 · 06/02/2017 07:55

Thanks ginger and duck, it's pink discharge but there are a few spots of red (tiny streaks) when I wipe. So frustrating. Frilly it shouldn't be anything to worry about from what I've read but if it turns from brown to red you can check with the epu I believe. Fx for you

flymo79 · 06/02/2017 08:03

Ps ginger, not in the uk so epu doesn't exist for me... Boo! I can see my consultant but I figure if no cramping and not red blood I'd better ride it out

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 06/02/2017 08:21

Had more bleeding too. Spoken to MW this morning and waiting to hear from EPU. Found a place that does early scan for 40 so might nip in asap if that calms me down one way or another.
Symptoms easing up but don't know what that means just yet.
Hope you are all feeling OK.

Can I join. I'm 7+3 and had a scan last Friday due to awful cramps and bleeding last Tuesday. I assumed it was all over but scan revealed an implantation bleed and a strong heartbeat. Advised that I may experience more bleeding. The pain was my body cramping to get rid of the bleed. Try not to worry, it's hopefully nothing to worry about.

Gingerbreadmam · 06/02/2017 10:05

oh heck flymo well if it doesnt get worse i.would just associate it with the thrush and not worry about it.

brown blood is old blood so they say not to worry about it. you should ring epu if you are concerned but i doubt they will see you unless it gets worse / you get cramps too.

for reassurance i bled this pregnancy from 5+3 until 8 weeks. brown, pink, tiny like thready clots, red and a scan at 7+4 showed everything was fine and it was an implantation bleed.

WarwickAlice · 06/02/2017 12:41

I am feeling so miserable today. I've just recovered from the worst cold I've ever had in my life (no exaggeration), and I've just come down with another one. I'm at work but feel utterly exhausted, can't stop sneezing and all I want to do is just go home and go to bed. I've got to go for lunch with my SIL and her family, which I've been looking forward to because I don't see them much, but I honestly just want to go home. I took time off last week with the other cold and I don't want work to think I'm taking the mick.

Have any of you ladies got colds since you became pregnant? If so, has anything made you feel better? I'm really sick of blowing my nose!

9+6 today.

roobois · 06/02/2017 12:41

Think I've got the rage today, had a party for my mum at the weekend and she told everyone my news even though we said it was only family until the scan, then two of my sister told me they have told people. I knew all this on Sunday but suddenly it has hit me and I'm really annoyed. Why do people think it's ok to just tell anyone they want when it's not their news. Angry I know there is nothing I can do about it and I've told my mum off for telling people but still I'm irritated

oliversmummy26 · 06/02/2017 12:42

I've had some pink discharge too, a bit yesterday and a funny little blob just now. It's worried me slightly, but not too much, so I'm just going to monitor it and see what happens. If it turns red (as it did within 24 hours when I had my mmc) then I'll be more worried, but just taking it one day at a time for now.

I've also had lots of brown discharge which seemed to be linked to dtd. We are still dtd, but less often, only 2-3 times per week rather than almost daily, and much gentler than we had been Blush

I think my nausea is easing off a little and not sure whether to worry about that too! I think it seems to have switched to mornings and evenings rather than all day, so that's a good thing I guess..? And still sore boobs, so we'll see how we go.

We are going to wait for the results of the nhs screening and if high risk will have the nipt rather than cvs or amnio..

I am strangely reassured by all you guys having similar spotting/discharge. Blush
I have a scan at EPU on Wednesday. Just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

oliversmummy26 · 06/02/2017 14:55

Good luck on Wednesday cashmere fingers crossed it's good news and all of us with spotting/funny discharge will be just fine Smile

WlM im not having the nuchal test for the same reasons as you but im having the other test the midwife seemed shocked when i turned it down and asked if i even wanted to bother having the scans. Im still feeling so sick and ended up in bed at 8 last night and have still been tired all day. 10 weeks.

ZylaB · 06/02/2017 18:00

katurah no, because if my numbers on NHS one came back high my bp would skyrocket and the stress wouldn't be good, so we are booked in for it just after I'm 10 weeks, should have results before 12 week scan, then I can be happily reassured hopefully :)

ZylaB · 06/02/2017 18:06

Somewhere between 6+4 and 7+1 😂

MrsY87 · 06/02/2017 19:01

Had my booking appointment today was as unexciting as I remember it from when I was pregnant with DD. Will be consultant led as DD was early and I had an emcs but I had expected that anyway.

Sugar I'm still feeling awful too, had a 2 hr nap yesterday afternoon and was still in bed at 9. Worked from home today so it was manageable but really not looking forward to commuting this week plus I'm interviewing people for a new role on my team so need to be on form can't just sit at my desk feeling sorry for myself.

Roobios sorry your mum and sister have shared your news, it's really not their place to. My mum did the same when I was pregnant with DD so know exactly how you are feeling, I was so angry with her.

Sorry so many of you are having spotting, fingers crossed it's nothing, bleeding in early pregnancy is very common. I've had some lower abdominal pains but just keep telling myself that it's probably stretching and normal but doesn't stop me worrying, the first trimester is so anxiety inducing....roll on the second trimester!

I'm exhausted. I have a sore throat. i cant stop eating carbs. Im gonn be huge at the end of this pg!
Also my sense of smell is ridiculous. I do home assessments for people and some smells in these houses are making me heave. Its hard to heave and try and hide it to remain positive.
Just eurgh generally Envy im ready for trimester 2 🙈 7+1 ive got aggessss

Fluffywallow · 06/02/2017 19:47

Mrs I've been having stretching pains (or at least that's what I hope they are) today too. On top of the draining nausea and tiredness it has almost tipped me over the edge. Spent a good proportion of this afternoon in tears (although that did coincide with watching call the midwife which I expect didn't help). It's just so physically and mentally draining.

And all I do is whinge whinge whinge. Bored of my own whingy voice!

Hope everyone is ok. We'll get there ladies. One slooooow day at a time.

Evening all,

Sorry so many are feeling so crappy. I'm not too bad, feeling queasy with sore boobs and absolutely knackered but that sounds like a walk in the park compared to some of you!

Early scan on Friday, can't come quick enough. I'm so much more anxious this pg!
