We haven't dtd since we found out either, partly as I'm too nervous to after two mcs last year and I'm too exhausted to feel in the mood. DH is being very understanding.

Still drinking coffee but only decaf, but totally off alcohol, the thought of a glass of wine makes me feel sick and i am known for enjoying a glass or too normally! Have my PILs staying next weekend so not sure how I'm going to hide it as they are bound to realise!

Booking appointment tomorrow and then nhs scan on the 24th. Also booked in for a follow up scan with the mc specialist I've been seeing in 10 days. He's offered the harmony test, didn't have it with DD but considering it this time. Is anyone else having the harmony test?

Fluffywallow · 05/02/2017 15:40

We don't dtd either until at least 12 weeks - I don't think dh would be keen even if I was but I'm totally not interested right now.

Having a rough day. Think I've forgotten what it feels like to be normal.

My poor DD is missing her fun mummy, can't wait to make it up to her in the second trimester where I will feel better or else

Good idea about putting weeks at the bottom of posts kep - 9+3

Gingerbreadmam · 05/02/2017 15:44

dp and i are considering the nipt which is pretty much the same thing but may wait until nhs screening result first.

i have no reason to think anything would show --other than plain old bad luck** but i'm a bit older than in my last pregnancy, only 32, but dont know if that will affect it?

it's a lot of money to spend unless i see reason to is what im saying. i'd rather that than cvs / amnio.

i had an amnio in my last pregnancy when my sons pffd was discovered at the anomally scan and they didnt know what it was. all came back clear. procedure was absolutely fine. my son died a few weeks later though and its always in the back of my mind. there is probably nothing in it but you know when it sticks in your mind?!

Heyitsholly · 05/02/2017 16:15

I have still being dtd couple of times a week
We did all the last pg and no problems. Its important to be intimate for us. Even if i really cba. But tbf he is understanding if im feeling off.

ZylaB · 05/02/2017 16:20

mrsY we are having the harmony test, I'm 39 and I know age affects the risk factors in the combined test from the NHS. I'd rather get my info from actual results of my baby's genetics, so I know where we stand rather than worrying :)

Frillyhorseyknickers · 05/02/2017 17:26

Still dtd here, but not as often.

I've been feeling a lot better today so, like the idiot I am, decided I was going for a ride. We (DH and I) have six fit horses which are kept at home, sometimes I get help with them, DH has been riding for the last few weeks as I've felt too rough to ride out. He hunted yesterday and I went for a fast hack on my youngster this lunchtime. Something has just gone in my lower back with him pratting about on the way back home. I'm worried it's sciatica as I've got shooting pains down my left hand side bum cheek. Just in the foetal position in the kitchen trying to watch come dine. Confused

Katurah · 05/02/2017 17:54

Zylab - I'm 38 and considering the harmony test for the same reason. Are you going to wait to see what the NHS numbers look like first?

SpringSpringSpring · 05/02/2017 18:13

Also 39 and a bit concerned. I need to read up on all this - the mw just said we discuss it after the 12-week scan. Is the Harmony test something only available privately?

lilyborderterrier · 05/02/2017 18:26

What is the harmony test? Im 38 and it's my 2nd.

Katurah · 05/02/2017 18:37

It's non invasive testing that looks at the babies cells in your blood. It can more accurately predict the trisonomies and also gender. Costs £350-500 depending where you go, not currently available on the NHS.

The NHS tests look at Michal fold but also factor in age, weight, medical history etc so the predictions that get spat out can seem a much higher risk than they actually are?

Katurah · 05/02/2017 18:38

*nuchal

Katurah · 05/02/2017 18:39

It's my second too Lily, more scared about this following a MMC - life feels a bit more precious!

lilyborderterrier · 05/02/2017 18:40

Thank you i am not having the nuchal test. I would only stress and this baby will be wanted and loved whatever happens. X

Carolina80 · 05/02/2017 19:15

Where I live the NHS does the 3 separate blood tests. I'm having them all done. We have discussed and will have the baby no matter what but if there is a likelihood of health issues we want to feel as mentally prepared for that in advance as we can. I know you are never guaranteed everything will be ok but if it's likely it's not I want to know. I wouldn't have the more invasive follow on tests though.

roobois · 05/02/2017 19:22

Is everyone else DTD as per normal??

We have a few times but I'm am really not interested at the moment. DH has been amazing and is really understanding. The tiredness is what has mainly put me off more than anything else that and also I just don't want to be touched. I kind of want those hormones to kick in so DH and I can enjoy spending that time together again

MrsK8541 · 05/02/2017 19:27

Also not dtd because of past MCs. Don't feel like letting dp anywhere near me!l anyway!

8 weeks today

MrsY87 · 05/02/2017 19:29

I think the conclusion we will come to see to wait and see what the nhs results say as it's a lot of money to spend. I think I'm just a lot more anxious following my losses than when I was pregnant with DD. I just feel if there is a high risk of health issues I would want to be know in advance to feel more prepared.

Gingerbreadmam · 05/02/2017 19:33

with regards to the screening they now screen for edwards and pataus. i cant remember which but one, if not both, are incompatible with life.

Amz26 · 05/02/2017 19:38

We've only DTD a few times too as I'm not really in the mood and my DH says it's hard to keep his mind off the baby.. maybe after the 12 week scan it will be different!

Good idea about putting our weeks at the kep x

I can't seem to stop eating everything I see!! it's the only time I don't feel sick.. does anyone else feel like this? X

Amz26 · 05/02/2017 19:38

Im 9+4

Fluffywallow · 05/02/2017 19:53

Yes Amz!! I have to eat to stop the nausea too. I'll get back to eating healthily once this passes...I've put on a couple of lbs so far which is a vast improvement on the stone I put on in the first trimester with my DD! Shock

Katurah · 05/02/2017 19:54

No DTD here. Not taking any risks after MMC in September!

I too have to eat to take sickness off. I can't brush my teeth without retching and randomly dry heave throughout the day. Orange lucozade helps but mostly dry bread. Very different to my first pregnancy where I had no sickness and ate roast chicken and cheese until it came out of my ears! I've not felt "well" since before my bfp. My face is greasy and my hair feels horrid! I'm 9+2 - booking in on Wednesday!

Katurah · 05/02/2017 19:57

With regards to testing, I just want to be prepared. Certain conditions I would think seriously about continuing and don't want to worry unnecessarily- it's just a shame the tests cost so much! I have my older son to think of, it's not just responsibility for us, it's the effect it would have on him and the rest of his life if something was wrong.

I'll probably wait until I've seen the NHS results and then ask my midwife niece what she thinks. I'd rather pay than risk an amino or cvs.

roobois · 05/02/2017 20:16

I have to eat all the time as well it makes such a difference

Amz26 · 05/02/2017 20:45

That's good it's not just me then!

Fluffywallow That's good you haven't put to much weight on, I have I look like a watery mess hahah I'm not sure how much weight I've put on tho as I put on weight before and during Xmas :( I will try and eat better once I stop feeling sick too!

Katurah sounds like you have it worse than me as I'm not to bad ATM.. it's so strange how every pregnancy is different 🤔

roobois It does makes so much difference.. Just don't want to end up the size of a house!! 😩
