Has anyone changed their coffee habbits?

I used to love a morning coffee while reading the paper/browsing MN - I've gone right off it. It's now weak orange cordial all the way for me.

flymo79 · 04/02/2017 13:11

Middle that is sad but great news there is one going strong, I imagine it must've been bittersweet news for you...
Dixie sorry about the blood, like others say it is common and probably nothing to worry about. Keep us posted.
Feeling sad today and a long way from home. And a long way off 12 weeks. Groan.

flymo79 · 04/02/2017 13:13

Off all types of hot drinks and I couldn't cope with a whiff of booze if you paid me! Just had a curry though and it was great

turtletum · 04/02/2017 13:49

I've cut right back on coffee, just one small cup a day. Not missing it that much but would struggle to cut out completely. I second what fluffy said about wine, I've had the echo falls infusion and it's fairly decent. Even my husband drank it and he could have had real alcohol. I think the green tea stops it being too sweet.

Kskifred · 04/02/2017 14:08

I will have to try the echo falls once i'm feeling like it, I couldn't even think about wine right now Envy been out for some fresh air with ds which is good but so tired and come home i'm just fed up of feeling like a rubbish parent but don't have the motivation to do much. Luckily he is content reading trashing his room at the mo but still got the guilts.

Dixie try not to worry, at my scan yesterday they picked up a small bleed about 1.6ml in uterus, she thinks from implantation and said looks old so said not to be alarmed if comes away at some point, perhaps something similar has happened with you x

kep1979 · 04/02/2017 14:35

Flymo I am loving curries at the moment! Especially spinach based ones - I just eat the sauce as I'm totally off meat!

kep1979 · 04/02/2017 14:35

Oh and cheapie supernoodles are awesome!

Dixiechick1991 · 04/02/2017 14:58

kskifred at my early scan at about 6 weeks they said it looked there was a small bleed. So fx

Lules · 04/02/2017 16:43

I had bleeding too in my first pregnancy and it all turned out fine.

Thought I'd got the letter about my booking in appointment this morning but it turned out it was just a letter telling me my smear test was due. Oh well.

I fainted when I was out earlier probably because of hunger/dehydration. Luckily DH was pushing the pram. I managed to eat lunch though which is something.

WLMcI · 04/02/2017 20:01

Oh dear Lules! You had really bad sickness didn't you? Take care and hope you feel better! Flowers x

Regarding caffeine, I'm doing 1 caffeinated (normal) tea per day and the rest herbal (peppermint or ginger tea is supposed to be good for nausea, for those suffering). I also got this lovely ginger and lemongrass cordial from Belvoir, which I mix with hot water or with cold sparkling water--really nice! I find I only missed the wine/beer for about a week, a bit like when we did dry January last year. Easier for me to stay off it once I've started, much like chocolate!

Got my scan letter; I am booked in for the 24th! It's earlier than expected so I'll just cross my fingers and wait for it, rather than having the private scan a week before.

calimommy · 05/02/2017 04:45

dixie had you had sex recently? You could have some post coital bleeding. Or else just some light spotting, which is v common in 1st trimester.

Fluffywallow · 05/02/2017 06:40

Kep yes to supernoodles!!!

Lules you poor thing, hope you feel ok after your fainting episode.

I managed a day in London yesterday which I'd been really worried about but bar a few smells bothering me (someone's perfume in the theatre was horrendous), I was ok. Utterly exhausted but ok!

9+3 today. Come on 12 weeks.

puttingourhoodupdown · 05/02/2017 10:26

Happy Sunday all

Sickness is easing off here but sore boobs when I wake up is a new occurrence.

Going to book a scan for Saturday, looking forward to seeing a little bean!

Finally managed to get back in the gym this morning after 3 weeks away, nothing too exerting but felt good!

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 05/02/2017 10:48

10+1 today
Had a bit of bleeding yest when wiping and I got worried all over again, had a tiny bit in Weds after dtd, to have it again yest really worried me. Then I found smth online that allayed my fears, then I woke this morning with no nausea and I feel all worried again.
Seeing as nothing can really be done, is it worth paying for an early scan (I'm in SE so imagine it'll be costly) or just waiting for 2 weeks till my official scan?!

Argh why is 1st trimester so hard. Can't remember it being this up and down last time.
Although on Friday night I cried because DH brought home something for me. That I'd asked for... but I was so pleased. Then yesterday he bought me flowers with my little girl, so I cried again.
So maybe it is all still good... Sad

Dixiechick1991 · 05/02/2017 11:34

dontbuy I think we're in the same situation. Some very very light spotting & mainly when I wipe.
I've now deciddd against ringing the midwife because at 9 weeks whatever is happening is happening & im now just waiting 9 days for my official scan.
It's a long 9 days but with my work it's very difficult to take time off anyway so I'll just wait for that date.
Still feeling starving on a morning which is my only real symptom. Had a few minor cramps in my back but I've heard that's normal with a tilted uterus.
Oh well FX for us both

kep1979 · 05/02/2017 12:41

Hope everyone is ok this morning. I am really trying to be positive and optimistic, and nicked the mantra from the pg after Mc thread, "today, I am pregnant".

Had a lovely day yesterday; dd was at her grandparents for a sleepover which meant that dh and I had a lovely long lie-in and lazy morning in bed. Getting up slowly seems to help with the sickness (unlike brushing my teeth Envy). It may have had something to do with the blue sky (most probably with the 13 hours of sleep!) but I felt loads more optimistic.

Then dyed my greys, had a long soak in a not quite hot enough bath, then watched the rugby.

Time does seem to be dragging and not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

7+1 (thought it might be useful to put how pg we are at the bottom of posts?)

Gingerbreadmam · 05/02/2017 12:46

for all the spotters / bleeders it might be worth knowing my mw said if you're bleeding it's best not to dtd.

i haven't done it since getting bfp i know i know because a previous mw said to me in the pregnancy after my mmc "you had a mmc so i take it you're not dtd before 12 weeks".

obviously i dont know how true / valid that is but just thought i'd share.

Frillyhorseyknickers · 05/02/2017 13:04

Happy Sunday everyone.

With the coffee - I was a one a day person, since cutting out booze I seem to be having quite a few decaf in the evening.

I'm really missing my wine - I love dry whites and they just don't exist in alcohol free - everything is sweet and sickly. I've found Eisberg and Fre both do decent dealcoholised red wines - I've forgotten how nice a good glass of Chianti is!

flymo79 · 05/02/2017 13:17

Oh wow, I can't imagine craving wine or beer or coffee, the thought of any of it makes me want to hurl!
I'm feeling very sorry for myself as I have a nasty dose of thrush. Any quick cures/advice? Just got a canesten peasant but it's the solid chalky one so not holding out much hope.... Been years since I had a proper dose of it, probably last when pg with dd!
Angry

SpringSpringSpring · 05/02/2017 13:20

I really miss coffee. I thought I could have one a day but it always tastes awful and I just can't drink it. Hope this passes - miss it far more than wine!
9+2

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 05/02/2017 13:30

Yes gingerbread my friend had a mc and when she then got pg with her DD she said she didn't dtd for months, over half the pg I think. Tbh I'm not really up for it anyway but poor DH had been so understanding and hadn't mentioned sex once since we conceived! And I thought 10 weeks-ish was OK. Now I'll definitely abstain until the scan I think.

I have had phases of being off coffee but with a DD to entertain all day I need the caffeine. I have a coffee first thing, a normal tea after that and only decaf afterwards. Pg tips decaf is fine and I can hardly taste the difference.

Every now and then I really miss booze but when I consider actually drinking it I don't fancy it at all. Last time I was totally off it for months, but allowed myself one small glass of wine/a beer a week in the third tri.

WhiteLily86 · 05/02/2017 15:13

Gingerbreadmam so glad someone brought up DTD. I am the same, not since BFP, sounds silly but I am scared to and just don't feel the same now I have a wee blueberry in there. DH totally gets it, will wait until 12 wk scan.

Is everyone else DTD as per normal??

Been a bit distant on here - hearing everyone else's symptoms depresses my lack of symptoms, but 2 mw appointments and she is pretty happy. 12 wk scan is 21st Feb and am not getting private scan (until sexing one later on!) so it has been a long long wait.

So sorry for all the miscarriages, so so sad, look after yourselves xx

9+5

Gingerbreadmam · 05/02/2017 15:20

there's other ways to be intimate just dtd is not worth it for me until i know everything is safe and sound in there haha!

for the spotters / bleeders. i have spot / bled varying amounts and colours this pregnancy. had barely any symptoms and i had an early scan last week and everything was fine.

EssentialHummus · 05/02/2017 15:22

Is everyone else DTD as per normal??

I think we've managed it twice or three times since BFP. To begin with I have incredibly sensitive breasts that I really don't enjoy being, er, fondled at the moment, and I feel tired and nauseous a lot of the time, and lately DH has had doubts along the lines of whether it's safe (think he's worried he'll hit the foetus with his willy). I've explained that it's highly unlikely Grin.

Basically, not much action here!

ZylaB · 05/02/2017 15:31

We haven't at all, too nervous 😂
