Great news Amz and Dixie - cor, I can't keep up on here!

Anyone else struggling to keep it together in front of people you haven't told? Spent a couple of hours with the IL's this arvo, DH was too busy so it was just me and DD. I felt so tired a faintly nauseous, so I couldn't really join in the conversation. Thankfully DD is a great distraction for everyone but I wonder if they thought something was up with me Confused

SpringSpringSpring · 22/01/2017 17:33

Congratulations all on the scans! I think I might try and get some ginger ale later as feeling horrible today thanks for the tip kskifred

All I feel like eating are plain things like scrambled eggs on toast, pasta with a bit of oil and parmesan etc but wheat makes me really bloated which I could do without right now. Anyone got other ideas for wheat-free inoffensive carbs?

Fluffywallow · 22/01/2017 17:39

Yes N0ne it's so so hard in front of people who don't know, the effort I have to put in to seeming normal is absolutely exhausting. I expect my MIL and SIL may have seen my sickness bands yesterday but I'm past caring!!

Ksk cooking food is the worst isn't it?? Just made my DD her dinner and feel dreadful now. I wish I could try ginger but it makes me sick normally so I expect it won't work for me!! Confused

All worth it in the end though ladies....

MouseLove · 22/01/2017 19:19

Wowzers lots of great scan news today!!!

Dixie that's a lovely jump. I'm hoping for the same in a few weeks. They didn't give me an exact dating. Just said 5-6 weeks. Which sounds about right as I last DTD in fertile time 6 weeks ago yesterday.

Can't believe the weekend is almost over ladies!!! Boooooo

Eevee77 · 22/01/2017 21:52

Hi all! I got my positive test last week, I think I'm 5-6 weeks. Only me and OH know so far. I want to keep it to myself for another few weeks, just to process everything. I know my mum will be cool, I'm not sure if I can cope with the ILS yet and I don't want anyone getting upset if one set of grandparents know before the other Hmm

TotTickle · 22/01/2017 22:28

Great news on all the scans.

Told my parents and in laws this weekend as am no longer travelling to Texas in a few weeks due to the Zika virus so they would be asking questions. They are both over the moon to be grandparents again. The more I think about it the more nervous I become!

I normally drink Yorkshire tea but couldn't stomach the decaf version last pregnancy - tried quite a few and settled on Tetley's decaf.

Hope everyone has a good week 💗

TipTop333 · 23/01/2017 08:29

Morning,

Hoping I can join. EDD 28th Sept with #2 so am only a measly 4 weeks. It's scary to see everyone so far ahead!

Full of symptoms already though - the dreams, heavy boobs, cramps (which doesn't help with the worry) and constipation (nice).

Quite a lot for me to catch up on on here! Very fast moving group!

TipTop333 · 23/01/2017 08:30

tottickle I agree with Tetley being the superior decaf!

Lules · 23/01/2017 09:47

What was the procedure for your booking in? I've just rang the GP and the receptionist said I needed to book an appointment with the GP and also mentioned a self referral form for the hospital. Should I do this now or wait until I've seen the GP next week? It's all different from my last time but that was in a different place.

TotTickle · 23/01/2017 09:49

I have a choice between two hospitals - if I want one I have to have a gp appointment and they refer me, if I want the other I self refer and just ring the number myself. Not much help for you sorry.

Lules · 23/01/2017 09:58

Oh I've just found the information on the hospital's website. Apparently it doesn't matter which I do so I might as well go with the GP appointment as that's booked.

Tilly2017 · 23/01/2017 10:40

I had to book a gp appointment because of it being my first. All they did was check blood pressure and that I was taking my folic acid and vitamin d. Then told to go to reception and leave my details for the midwife and pick up a pregnancy pack... did that and midwife called the next day with a choice of five hospitals..... very impressed so far. Booking in apt is next week Smile

ringroads · 23/01/2017 11:57

Had my booking in appointment today, very boring but very necessary! Awaiting my 12 week scan appointment date now Halo

I dont know how and I dont know why but im feeling alot less nauseated today, woke up feeling not so bad, might even venture to the park with DS later,, hoping it stays away for good now ,, how are you lovely ladies getting on?

Fluffywallow · 23/01/2017 12:25

Hi ring roads glad you're on the up, how many weeks are you? Last time I think mine peeked at about 9 weeks then gradually eased...hoping the same this time!

Currently lying in bed feeling useless (work have been great and told me to take this week off) DD is at nursery so trying to get some rest.

Welcome tiptop I think there's plenty of people on here similar weeks to you so you're in good company! I am due early sept so am watching august threads too just to see what lies ahead!!

flymo79 · 23/01/2017 12:31

Hi all, glad scans went well and Mondays seem to be going without too much drama( it's evening here, am feeling sorry for myself and mooching on the sofa), I need tips for bland carby food. Also having a row with DH about Friday, my next appointment, dd is off nursery and he won't take time off work. Grrrrr.

NotMyPenguin · 23/01/2017 12:35

Hello, may I join you? I think I'm around 5 weeks today. It was a surprise but I'm actually quite excited (as well as queasy!) and we'll see if it sticks.

Age: 34
Baby: 2 (DD1 is 3.5)
Due: ?27 September
Cycle: This was a surprise!
Status: It's complicated.
Fur babies: None
Location: London
Sex: Won't be able to resist finding out...

ringroads · 23/01/2017 12:43

Fluffy im 8+5 , i remember feeling rough frm 7-10 weeks last time but this has thrown me. Im hoping like kski said it wAs a hormone surge/growth spurt and now its going to ease off i can live in hope x

Amz26 · 23/01/2017 12:55

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations :)

ringroads i'm actually feeling much better today too! Such a relief after feeling so sick all the time. But I'm sure it'll come back as everyone says it comes in waves :( I do you feel hundred times better if I'm outside getting some fresh air as being in doors just makes me feel worse, I wish it was warmer though :(

What dates has everybody got their 12 week scan? Doesn't it feel like forever until that day comes?

EssentialHummus · 23/01/2017 12:56

Hi everyone. Today has been a bit of a disaster on the booking in/scan/referral front - I've basically spent the morning on the phone to two hospitals, a health centre and my GP to figure out where I am on anyone's system.

Luckily my "Baby on Board" badge arrived today, so that's cheered me up a bit. Not sure I'll be wearing it just yet as I'm bound to run into someone I know.

Fluffywallow · 23/01/2017 12:59

Fingers crossed ringroads!

Welcome penguin!

Flymo* I was googling for carby food ideas yesterday!! So far I've been living on coleslaw, cheese and bread (LOTS of bread!) sweet things are a no no (although I'm quite partial to muller light lemon yoghurt!) and meat is off the menu. I'm so so wary of weight gain this time though (put on 4 stone with my DD Shock) that I'm limiting myself as much as possible but it's hard when carbs are all that helps!

flymo79 · 23/01/2017 13:12

Fluffy yes!! Exactly what I'm eating! And when I was pg with dd I ate cheese & coleslaw rolls almost endlessly!!! Oh I wanna scoff one now...

Shwighty1 · 23/01/2017 13:44

Oh my gawd!!!! I'd forgotten how lush coleslaw is!!! I'm going to need to go and buy some NOW!!

Had booking in today all went well and on course for homebirth/water birth 4th/5th September. 12 wks scan on 21st Feb Grin

lilyborderterrier · 23/01/2017 14:04

8+3 today and have my booking in appointment at 5pm, can't wait I just want to get someone else's confirmation especially as my symptoms seemed to have stopped.
My appetite is back too celebrate I scoffed 2 bags of frazzles and could eat another one.

HellsBellsK · 23/01/2017 14:04

Welcome newbies Flowers

I haven't been on much, not feeling great and have a migraine since friday and cant take anything for it. So feeling sorry for myself.

Counting the days away till my next scan - just over 2 weeks - Im getting the panorama test done then. I would like to have all the knowledge if something is wrong so I can read up about things.

Amz 12 week scan is on the 15th Feb. Have you got yours yet?

Uny875 · 23/01/2017 14:23

Hello

Is there space for another newbie? :)
First baby, EDD 18th Sept, so it's 6 weeks for me. No morning sickness, but lots of dreams, heavy boobs and usual worries so it's good to have someone to chat to!

Will try to catch up with the group, but generally like the idea of FB group a bit later and will also add my deets to the spreadsheet xx
