Hi Jenny
Another one here who hasn't bought a single thing, and he isn't getting his own room for a while either! Unless he snores like a hog, then we might rethink Smile

I'm admittedly slightly in the not wanting to tempt fate camp (age risk paranoia probably) but I'm also not really in a cash flow or practical position to buy anything now-we're trying to speed renovate an old house so anything that enters now would get covered in crap and dust!

Instead I'm just making a list and bookmarking items online (based on the amazing voices of experience and research by the gang here), which feels like a good organising exercise in itself. I'm very grateful for this board as I would be truly, hopelessly clueless with out you all...!

jennymac31 · 23/01/2017 08:58

Themoonandsixpence - no I've tried to convince him (the two outfits I wanted to buy yesterday were on sale and would have cost £9 in total) but I think he's just being cautious about overspending when we're in the process of doing lots of renovation work. We do still have the baby clothes from our dd but it would be nice to have some boy clothes.

Not having a great morning so far. Had a horrible night sleep only to be woken up by a poorly toddler with sickness and diarrhoea. Had already been feeling ill with nausea again so this isn't helping matters.

Hoping this will pass soon!

McBaby · 23/01/2017 09:17

I haven't bought anything at all. It's no 3 so we can reuse some stuff but I always struggle to buy stuff hence with dd2 dh went to buy baby clothes just after she was born :)

I need to sort the clothes we have, order some mattresses and get some disposable bits - nappies, breast pads etc

I also really need to pack my hospital bag!! 25 weeks today and i was admitted at 26 weeks with dd1 due to irritable uterus causing contractions every 10 minutes for 48 hours! It was not fun having to get my dad to hunt everything in the house out for me!

RasperryInAMelon · 23/01/2017 09:49

Me thinks we're going to be in need of a new thread by the end of the day ladies!...

1004Rise · 23/01/2017 10:05

Think you're right Rasperry need to get our thinking caps on!

I just need to get over the shock of mcbaby saying words that sound like pack hospital & bag in one sentence!

Jenny we haven't bought a thing yet either, we just have a long list compiled from lots of advice on here, to the extent that I didn't even drive past Aldi this week. I think I have to get to the magic 24 weeks to feel more comfortable. Comforting myself that I'll then be able to go on a big buying spree nearer the time. Added to the fact that we're not doing up a nursery (we want to move and baby will be in with us for a good while) so just focusing on the what do we need to get through the first few weeks/days.

MrsJW15 · 23/01/2017 10:15

Ha, Rise I'm with you, definitely not ready to think about the hospital bag!

Also what's magic about 24 weeks? Finally hit that mark on Friday. Feeling pretty huge tbh. Bump seems to have been growing non-stop since Christmas!

lullaby23 · 23/01/2017 10:16

Ooh I have the tiny love rocker-napper too, hoping it will be useful. I like the fact there are sides to it so offers some protection from marauding toddler. We have a baby bjorn bouncer that DS used which was great to park him in when I was showering or whatever. Although before he got mobile I would bring the Sleepyhead into the bathroom he was quite happy kicking away!

Oh esme also worried about the having a 1 & 3 year old but I think overall I'm happy to get the milk and nappy years out of the way more quickly! What about having one doing GCSEs and one doing A Levels? Ok thinking ahead a bit too much there...

savagehk · 23/01/2017 10:17

"Also what's magic about 24 weeks" - I think that's what some areas take as 'viability'. Here I think it's 28 weeks - to be blunt it means if you go into labour they'll try to save the baby rather than treat it as a miscarriage.

MissMooMoo · 23/01/2017 10:34

I spent a few hours in the Maternity assesmemt unit yesterday.
On Friday I thought I may have had the beginning of a urine infection as I have a lot of pressure, I was going to the loo quite often but with a lot of wee and no burning so I thought I'd leave it and see if anything came about.
Yesterday morning I woke up and had pink tinged tissue when I wiped and then about 30 mins later quite a lot of blood.
Went in and had a urine dip, heard baby's heartbeat and the doctor did an internal to make sure the blood wasn't coming from my cervix as I have a low lying placenta.
Urine has white blood cells in it so they are treating it as a UTI and I have meds for 7 days.

Midwife gave us a scare as she couldn't find the heartbeat with 2 different dopplers and then turned to ask me if I had felt baby move lately!! Finally she found it tucked down very low, exactly where baby was lying during the scan a few weeks ago.

RasperryInAMelon · 23/01/2017 10:39

Rise, you and Adventure have the creative caps here - or does anyone else have a fun suggestion for a new thread title?

My hospital bag will be packed in the next few weeks - pretty much every family member has gone between 26-36 weeks which seems like quite a gap, but I'd rather be prepared - although hoping to god that I don't pop whilst I'm on holiday at 30 weeks 🙈

Glad to hear you're all ok MissMoo!

CinnamonTwist · 23/01/2017 11:04

May 3 ladies (I think bright, dream, sal and Tea?) it's 100 days to our due date today! Down to double figures from tomorrow..!
That's 86-114 days for the 4 week window Wink !

teainbed · 23/01/2017 11:33

100 days! Wow, hope I make it that far!

I haven't bought a single thing. I might put a mini hospital bag together in the next few weeks as there is a good chance I could be in for monitoring in the 3rd trimester. I am getting back all the stuff I need from my sister, buggy I'll order next month probably do a Boots order for the stuff I know I'll need nearer the time. But for any other bits there's Amazon and a big supermarket nearby.

Adventuregame · 23/01/2017 11:36
