Yes Esme the quilt will be kept for later on. We have a selection of growbags and swaddle wraps too that we've been given but it'll be a case of seeing what works for DD.

I think that's it Spam it's working out what's right for you, we may well both go back quickly so need to try and establish a sleep routine early.

I'm venturing to Lakeside later Barnes undecided on the Ikea or Mothercare rocker atm.

Think I'll wait till next weekend once the cotbed, wardrobe and changing unit are built to order though. See how we are for space.

Nurse15 · 21/01/2017 10:53

I love my ikea poang chair but it, plus the footstool takes up quite a bit of space!!

jennymac31 · 21/01/2017 12:01

Morning ladies

Was planning on venturing out to IKEA to get the Poeng chair but it's quite a distance away and am feeling rotten with cold so may have to leave it until next week.

May still have to venture out to the shops anyway, as the builders have been steaming ahead with the En-Suite and going to be ready to do the tiling soon so a trip to B&Q this weekend will be required but it's much closer to our home than IKEA. Plus we need to look at flooring for the En-suite as well as carpets for the bedroom but all I want to do is go back to bed (hard to do when I have an active 3 year old running around and hubby is at work today).

Hope I can shift this cold within the next 2 weeks before we go on holiday to Portugal

Forgot to mention that I had my physiotherapy appointment at my local hospital, which was interesting.

I got given a tube band strap to support my back and bump and was shown some stretching exercises to do at home but the physiotherapist recommended that I attend their 6-week hydrotherapy course so I should receive a call next week about it. It sound quite good but the only problem is that the course only runs on a Thursday lunchtime for an hour and there is no way I'd make it there and back to work without being late. I think I'm gonna have a word with my manager and see if I can work from home Thursday afternoons so I can make up the time.

Anyone else been recommended hydrotherapy or has attended hydrotherapy sessions in the past?

Rustler74 · 21/01/2017 12:25

Yes Barnes poäng it is. I saw that Aldi had the Hauck wooden high chair on offer. I don't have the room to put it now so I decided against it.
Moses basket on stand will have to do for first few months and cot bed after that but def in our room for 6 months. Can't do co sleeping in bed but will hopefully feed in bed or in the poang.
Lovely well filled weekend! Going to JL tomorrow so am well excited!
Thinking of still putting travel system on wish list as a reserve as am worried about the state of the pram my friend is giving me after 14 years of storage! Sounds ungrateful I know x

Rustler74 · 21/01/2017 12:27

Jennymac being a physio myself I am unable to do hydro unless water temperature is below 34 degrees, which kind of takes away the good effects the temperature of the water does to our kids with cerebral palsy, rheumatoid arthritis and muscular dystrophy. But otherwise I love being in the water an would def recommend it!

savagehk · 21/01/2017 13:02

fox can you get one of the things that fit on top of the cot?

1004Rise · 21/01/2017 13:43

Will definitely look at the gro company for bags. We're going to get a next to me for in our room, both DH and I are convinced we'd punch the baby if we co slept (we have been known to punch each other Blush) but we do want him/her in our room for a good while. DH will resort to ear plugs when he goes back to work Grin. Laughing at your description of "does this look right" Fox Grin

I'm in sleep deprivation training this weekend, in July before we knew about baby we signed up for a 24hr mountain bike "race" obviously now I'm not riding but I've demoted to chief tea maker and pit crew. So trying to plan my nap times til tomorrow morning Wink Have umpteen layers of clothes on and appreciating the extra baby warmth!! The only problem is I'm now very jealous of all the people that are able to ride their bikes ShockHmm

MrsJW15 · 21/01/2017 13:49

jenny hydrotherapy sounds fun!

At a hen this weekend, luckily in London. Starting with a dance class, so I'm sitting on a fit ball and watching, secretly a bit relieved I'm not forced to do this!

Brightsmoke · 21/01/2017 14:23

Sounds like a lot of us have a busy weekend! Me and DH have just fitted the kitchen floor. Still have a bit of painting to do in there then it's done (finally!!) Venetian blinds fitted in the living room, bathroom fitters coming Monday, might try and persuade DH to finish the landing, stairs and hallway by next weekend, and then we can finally relax knowing the whole house is finished! Which only means I'll get itchy feet and want to move again 😂

Going to check out the Aldi sale today, see what's left! Hope everyone is having a good weekend

FoxMulder · 21/01/2017 14:44

We don't have a cot either savage! Smile

Spam88 · 21/01/2017 14:58

jenny the hydrotherapy has been recommended as part of your antenatal care, so your manager has to let you have paid time off to attend and you don't need to make the time up.

The physio advised me to get one of those belts but they don't supply them here, so I need to do a bit of googling.

Spam88 · 21/01/2017 15:03

Also I ventured out to Aldi and Asda today. There was still loads of stuff left in Aldi so that was good. Not so good for my bank balance but there we go... they also had gym balls so I bought one of those (physio recommended that rather than a pregnancy one). Picked up a manual tommee tippee breast pump in Asda for £15 as well, figure I might as well give that a go before forking out on an electric one.

growcookeat · 21/01/2017 15:10

So much to read on here chatty ladies!

After stressful work weeks for both DH and I, We're taking a break from nursery prep and have holed up in the pil cottage in the country for the weekend. Just got back from the seaside and sat with a steaming cup of tea by the fire. Bliss!

Popped into Aldi earlier and got a few bits but didn't seem to be much left apart from baby wipes!

I'm currently debating whether we need one of these rocker/bouncer chair things. Anyone had one they couldn't live without? Any brand recommendations?
We're planning on either using the snuzpod top or pram carrycot downstairs in the day so don't know if I need something else too?

savagehk · 21/01/2017 15:52

grow we got great use out of our bouncy chair, but imo the ones with batteries etc are a waste, ours was a very simple fabric and metal construction (no padding). I'm looking at the baby bjorn organic one this time but it's more expensive than necessary for what it is really.... Later, we used our bumbo a lot. Both were second hand though and will probably be again this time.

savagehk · 21/01/2017 16:09

This has been recommended to be by a friend who's just had her second, useful sleeping spot for baby while still being protected from older siblings running around (may be useful if you're planning on a sibling!) www.kiddicare.com/p/Tiny_Love_3_in_1_Rocker_Napper_Red.htm

MissMooMoo · 21/01/2017 16:31

I popped into aldi today too, £50 later I am finished hah.
I did get 2 cloth nappies whilst I was there.
Some babygrows, vests, socks, cellular blankets, and wipes and newborn disposibles.
Won't be buying this baby anything else!

WishIWasSleeping · 21/01/2017 17:04

Savage - thank you! I'll keep a note on that. If I can keep up with the expressing this time I'll have a fair bit left over. I don't like to start in the first 2 weeks as I feel like I've enough to do! - but if I can keep control of my now toddler and the baby and express I'll be pleased! Grin
Fox - we have a reclining high chair... fab if little ones fall asleep whilst feeding (obviously if their mouths are empty!) and she finds it much harder to get out of that the wooden ones that we use at the pubs and stuff, as they only have a lap belt, which she's totally sussed out! And I use it as an extra sleeping item if we are coming in from the car and her pushchair isn't available.

FoxMulder · 21/01/2017 18:17

Ahh, I hadn't thought of that Wish. DS was never the kind of kid to just fall asleep in the middle of what he was doing! I always fancied one of those ones they can climb into and out of themselves but they are $$$$$

coxsorangepippin · 21/01/2017 18:18

spam88 the NHS physio at my hospital recommended the Serola brand - I bought one for something like £38 and it is definitely helping though not a cure!

Badgerbird · 21/01/2017 19:40

Oooh 1004 and mrsjw hope you're having fun!! grow your wknd sounds bliss! Sounds like you need it.

That was good going getting the floor done smoke! Good luck with rest of diy. I still have bits I need to do including the nursery.

spam what do you think of your gym ball? I'm loving mine :)

I baked a cake this afternoon so I must be pregnant!! ShockCake

Brightsmoke · 21/01/2017 19:41

Well, we ventured into Aldi today, there was a fair bit left, but I have NEVER met so many rude, obnoxious, idiotic people in one place in my life, EVER! Fair to say, we won't be stepping foot in there again, and will be using the delivery service. When we go in Lidl, it's a completely different atmosphere! Crazy. We did get another teething toy and some books ready for story times. I debated getting the chair as it seems similar to the stokke Tripp Trapp which I know is well rated. Has anyone got the Aldi one? What do you think?

Badgerbird · 21/01/2017 19:44

savage I like the rocker chair you posted, then I was thinking I might keep sleep place and play place seperate so they (hopefully) get the message that when they go in Moses basket it's nap time. Nothing stimulating happens there. Bouncy chair is for eating/playing, unless they fall asleep. Does that make sense or am I overthinking it Mums?

EsmesBees · 21/01/2017 19:59

Rocker chairs are so useful. Would recommend getting one for the bathroom so you have somewhere to out them while you shower.

That sounds like a good plan badger. Baby may have other ideas though! I never fed mine in a bouncy chair. By the time they are eating you'll be wanting a bumbo or highchair as they will be sitting or close.

KLane · 21/01/2017 20:07

Thanks for all of the trouser advice, ladies. Looks like I've got some online shopping to do!

Feeling quite accomplished this weekend as all of the nursery furniture is now up- cot, changer and wardrobe. Also the nursing glider that we splurged on! We are planning on putting it in our bedroom come May, but DH has found it so comfy that it's currently in the lounge. We wanted a slightly larger one as DH is 6'3" and a lot of them have relatively low backs. Looks like the price has gone up £30 in the last few days but it is cheaper on other sites. So pleased with it!

I had two blood tests last week and both came back with high liver readings. The hospital has insisted that I come in on Monday morning for another test and ultrasound on the liver and gallbladder. Trying to avoid googling as I know nothing good would come of it...
