Lovely pic raspberry glad all is well with the baby.

MissMooMoo · 05/01/2017 11:10

Baby looks perfect raspberry.
My parents bought us a next to me cot, we live on a ground floor flat and bedroom is right off the living room so s/he will just sleep in that during the day too.

RedBlu · 05/01/2017 11:18

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow, so nervous.

I am feeling movement though, for the last week or two like small kicks, nudges. Very odd.

When do people start buying "stuff", I haven't got anything as I keep thinking it's too early?

RasperryInAMelon · 05/01/2017 11:50

We've pretty much got everything now RedBlue

Cot, pram, clothes, car seat and base - nurserys in the process of being decorated and carpet arrived today.

I think it's personal preference tbh

lucieloos · 05/01/2017 11:54

What's the deal with car bases then? I presume the car seats don't come with them? The pushchair we want to get comes with a free maxi-cosi cabriofix. Is there a certain base to go with this? Is it worth getting 2 bases in case dh needs to take baby somewhere in his car?

MissMooMoo · 05/01/2017 11:55

red
We have bought a next to me cot and have a carseat from my friend.
Going to john lewis for their nursery service this weekend to hopefully decide on a pram.
My sister is 35 weeks and hasn't bought a pram yet so I think just whenever you feel comfortable.

Adventuregame · 05/01/2017 11:55

RedBlu we haven't bought anything yet. Got some bits that have been given/lent by friends but I think there is plenty of time. We plan on going to sort out car seat by end of January I think.

Red we haven't bought anything yet, we're making a long wish list and we'll buy nearer the time, we haven't seen any deal good enough on what we want in the sales to override the "it's too early" feeling Smile

Congrats on a good scan Rasperry

MrsJW15 · 05/01/2017 12:13

RedBlu so far we have bought a swaddle cloth and ordered two grobags... so not much! I know we want a SleepyHead and a SnuzPod, but still undecided on buggies. But unless we see any offers, I think we are planning to wait a bit longer to buy stuff.

We are rearranging a few bits in the flat (no actual nursery - no space) so partly I don't want too much stuff yet, partly just superstition!

EsmesBees · 05/01/2017 12:18

I have bought nothing, but this is number two so have most things already. But to be fair, I didn't buy anything to the end last time either and that was fine. It is often best to wait and see what your baby is like before spending lots of money.

Sleepyheads are amazing. Best £90 I have ever spent.

Autumnsweater · 05/01/2017 13:04

redblue I have bought some bibs, that's it!

Looking at car seats now but tbh that's only in case of a bargain in the sales.
I'm not rushing into buying lots as so many people have said about things they didn't use and I'd rather not waste the money, am putting some aside each month instead so I've some spare when on maternity leave.

PeachIcedT · 05/01/2017 13:09

I have bought next to nothing, save a few second hand clothes and then the perfect prep machine and steriliser on a whim.

Having seen all the things I need it seems so easy to spend thousands! Trying to do second hand as much as I can but still have to research and that's tricky too. Can't believe how many car seats there are, I thought I'd be fine to take the one off my SIL but should I be looking into it more? The sleepyhead sounds good and I'm going to look into getting that, but everything seems to be a £100 here and there and it scares me how costly it can get.

Nurse15 · 05/01/2017 13:15

Just place marking for now! Lovely to see all these perfect scan pics!!

EsmesBees · 05/01/2017 13:47

This is why I would recommend waiting Peach. Your baby might sleep really well without a sleepyhead and you won't know that until they are here. If you sign up to the free trial of Amazon prime just before your due date you can get stuff delivered really quickly.

Assuming the car seat is in good condition and meets current regulations it should be fine. However if you drive a lot it might be worth looking into a new one to out your mind at ease.

So... heres the fancy GoogleDocs sheet I've been working on... (Let me know if it doesn't work, but I'll update it as time goes on)

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KVJO4NGD6JrcGRGQuYnx87mLaadV5ytrP4lDfdqLrUQ/edit#gid=0

Would be great to update peoples info too, if they want it updated!

Adventuregame · 05/01/2017 14:26

Anyone know when the next Aldi Baby and Toddler event is ? Apparently they have great stuff ?

mrspage1985 · 05/01/2017 14:36

Marking my place. Looks like I'm right at the back of the bus - 20week scan next Wednesday! Cannot wait to see him again but nervous as well. The sonographer did a lot of checks at the private gender scan in December (at almost 17 week) and said everything was good...she checked heart chambers, legs feet arms spine etc. What else do they check at 20weeks? X

Streaky17 · 05/01/2017 15:19

adventure aldi baby event is the 19th according to their Facebook. There is nothing on their website yet.

Thanks for the tips for downstairs sleeping.

1004Rise · 05/01/2017 15:19

Rasperry did you set it up for access to anyone with the link? It's telling me to ask for access... HmmSmile

Adventuregame · 05/01/2017 15:20

Thanks streaky

Rise I've had a couple of emails to give access to people, sorry - not used Google Docs before - should work now!

CinnamonTwist · 05/01/2017 15:36

Spreadsheet looks great Raspberry! They had one like that on the march 17 thread I was on briefly before my MC. I had no idea how to do one though so didn't mention it!
Mine is a boy and I'm 26, if I can update it on a pc later then I'll try to, but can't do it on my phone currently.

MrsJW15 · 05/01/2017 15:39

So, the black trousers that I basically lived in before Christmas feel really uncomfortable now with a proper bump Sad. Looks like time for more maternity shopping. I'm finding work clothes pretty uninspiring - and expensive!

Sauvignonismysaviour · 05/01/2017 15:43

Oh blimey! Haven't checked in for a few weeks but can see we've been a very busy bunch! Loving all the 20 week scans and cannot WAIT for ours tomorrow (in a terrified worried way).

We haven't bought much yet but waiting for scan and also we are moving house end Jan. Oyster2 pram looking like a serious contender for us so was pleased to see some others thinking the same in thread 5! But any recommendations/opinions on anything is much appreciated....my head is whirling with rear-facing carseats/do I buy bottles if I plan to BF/how do I get baby to sleep through/etc etc!

I'm lucky and keeping very well in general , so very sorry to those who are still nauseous and having aches and pains. Only thing bothering me is insomnia. Bump still little so I'm not uncomfortable. It's just my night-time only bunged up nose! Has anyone got any suggestions please?!

Thanks - will endeavour to keep more up-to-date with our threads. Happy new year everyone ... we're having babies THIS YEAR! x

Nurse15 · 05/01/2017 15:56

Can't believe there are so many of us! Thanks for doing the spreadsheet raspberry!

My location is (near) Belfast. Can't update as on phone app! Sorry!
