Jenny I'm sorry you are feeling so down, but I can identify with that! You need to put yourself and gaby first, particularly in the light of the friend for which you are anxious.
Hoping you are better soon.
Autumn Do you mind sharing with us which car seat you bought?

Autumnsweater · 17/01/2017 09:13

Jenny I know how you feel a bit a friend of mine lost her baby a few months ago close to full term. It's really scary. I'm just trying to focus on all the positives and enjoy it as much as I can but it's ok to feel like this.

Autumnsweater · 17/01/2017 09:18

Rustler I've ordered the Joie I-Gemm - not managed to see it in real life yet though none of the shops we've visited had it in stock.

I wanted an i-size car seat as more stringently tested on safety (side impact as well as frontal), and it was also a Which best buy, they gave it great safety scores. Other contenders that were also Which Best Buys were the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus and the Kiddy Evo Luna... Choose the Joie I-Gemm as it was half the price of the other two in the end. I'm not getting a travel system though so don't know how well the I-Gemm fits in with that.

savagehk · 17/01/2017 09:54

Car seat wise I'll probably be getting this www.britax.co.uk/car-seats/baby-safe-plus-shr-ii/ (or possibly the Maxi Cosi Pebble).

We had a Britax first time (possibly the earlier version of this one) and it worked well.

It was great to see you girls and the lovely bumps yesterday in London Victoria, I hope everyone got home safely.

Brightsmoke · 17/01/2017 10:27

Hope you all had a good meet up yesterday :)

I have my 24/5 week midwife appointment this morning, should get my MatB1 hopefully! Hopefully all will be ok. Is there a trick to getting a urine sample without peeing all over your hands? 😂🙈

MrsJW15 · 17/01/2017 10:49

If you find it Bright let us know!

Adventuregame · 17/01/2017 11:28

At my hospital you do it in a paper cup and then pour that into the sample bottle ?

OP posts:
savagehk · 17/01/2017 11:29

A paper cup! how civilised. I've given up. And it only gets worse as your bump gets bigger. I suppose a sheewee would work but a bit of a faff. I'm sticking to the 'urine is sterile' line :D

MissMooMoo · 17/01/2017 11:41

I hold the plastic sample pot right over where the wee comes out, never seems to get on my hands!
At my hospital in the booking in/scan area there is a toilet just for women, it has a little shelf to put the sample pot on, actually works quite well!

1004Rise · 17/01/2017 11:44

Bright I think it's physically impossible....

Savage I think with a shewee you still have to be able to see which seems to be becoming increasingly difficult Blush

Has anyone found their bump getting in the way yet, I keep brushing it with the fridge door.... maybe that's because I'm in the fridge too muchBlush Seem to have switched from eating to keep away the nausea to eating to keep away the heartburn!

RasperryInAMelon · 17/01/2017 11:53

Is it bad that I took two sample pots last time... I couldn't face handing over the pot after I'd peed on the sticker even after I'd dried it 🙈

PeachIcedT · 17/01/2017 12:03

The urine samples are all the more difficult having to be mid-stream! I seem to remember I found it hard enough with the pregnancy test, so the sample bottle is a challenge. I'd definitely take two pots if they ever offered them up!

EsmesBees · 17/01/2017 13:38

Yes rise! I was changing the sheet on my toddler's cot bed yesterday and realised I could not reach the far corner as my bump was stuck on the bars.

Brightsmoke · 17/01/2017 13:52

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling Grin. MissMooMoo, you must have ninja skills!

My bump gets in the way of most things now. I forget how big it is and regularly 'catch' it on things, luckily I haven't run full force into anything yet!

Rustler74 · 17/01/2017 13:57

Glad to hear it's not just my bump then!

peasandquiet · 17/01/2017 14:10

Hi ladies, hope your all well. Having a couple of days off work to look after poorly toddler which has been quite nice really 😂
I'm not too bad on the wee front but I think my standards might be lower!!
All the baby events are good. Need to get on it and look for the bits on my list! anyone found an uber bargain they want to share?
Ideal perfect prep buying time aswell I'm sure someone will be doing is for halfprice!

FoxMulder · 17/01/2017 14:51

I just got out DS's old baby clothes. There are 18 newborn vests. How did that happen?!

RasperryInAMelon · 17/01/2017 14:56

Fox forgive me for sounding daft - is that good or bad?

EsmesBees · 17/01/2017 16:25

That's organised fox! I got a load of hand-me-downs the first time round so probably have a similar number in the loft. DD was only in newborn size for about one week!

FoxMulder · 17/01/2017 16:36

It's an insane amount raspberry. Probably need about 5 tops.

Esme I only came across them because they were being stored in a suitcase with my summer clothes which I was getting out for a forthcoming holiday!

EsmesBees · 17/01/2017 17:06

I'm really looking forward to getting my loft space back once this baby grows out of the newborn-3 months clothes. I have black sacks just full of tiny sleepsuits. It's all going on eBay.

MissMooMoo · 17/01/2017 17:10

I also have a ton of newborn and 0-3 vests that my friend gave me.
I am not planning to buy the baby anything for a few months as she gave me so much!

1004Rise · 17/01/2017 17:18

Esme you should keep an eye on the June/July expecting threads so you could sell your newborn stuff to them Wink

I have a very active baby today, getting kicked in the ribs a lot... He or she has definitely found their feet!! Now I'm probably going to be paranoid tomorrow when baby is quiet Hmm When are we supposed to start counting kicks (and how)
