Fox I definitely recommend Gran Canaria the Melonares stretch. This is our 3rd holiday here !! We are at the Riu Palace (make sure it's the melinares one not Maspalomas) The food is amazing ! I wish we could stay another week. It's been 25 degrees and bump definitely prefers the warmth !!

The riu palace melonares looks amazing adventure! Where did you find the best deal?

PeachIcedT · 12/01/2017 20:05

Baby is kicking me in the bladder a lot this evening, I'm wincing slightly. I'm certain this will only get stronger as she develops so is best get used to it.

Gran Canaria sounds great Adventure! All the more so when the roads outside here are gridlocked due to snow. I'm grateful not to be stuck in it travelling back with a full, kicked bladder.

Barnes79 · 12/01/2017 20:12

Fox / Adventure - I went to Melonares in Gran Canaria this Sept and stayed at Lopesan Costa Melonares Resort Corallium. Would definitely recommend that place too.

FatOldBag - I'm not a fan of that link. It says I'm gaining weight too fast 😧

1004Rise · 12/01/2017 20:18

Barnes I don't like it either says I've not put enough on! I think we may have just proved why people say don't worry about it!! Wink

mrscrocopop · 12/01/2017 20:48

According to link I haven't put in enough either. I'm pretty sure I have though. I'm going back to ignorant bliss - I won't worry until my midwife worries!

Sauvignonismysaviour · 12/01/2017 20:49

Just having a bit of a soppy moment here and wondering what our baby is going to be like ... what will they look like; what will their likes and dislikes be; what will their personality be like; will it be a boy or a girl?! So nice to sit back and think about it :-)

(It's stopping me from worrying about all the practical things that I am CLUELESS about and moving house in 2 weeks time!)

Badgerbird · 12/01/2017 21:02

sauvignon we've just been doing exactly that!!! DH has been talking too the bump and we're wondering what her hair, skin etc will be like. What she'll be into and everything.... feeling blessed Smile

Just back from pregnancy yoga so feeling relaxed. I'm enjoying having a little bit of time to focus on me and baby each week. Even if baby did decide to be more active in the lying down relaxation section at the end!

Mrsjw the comfiest tights I've got are M&S 100 Denier maternity tights. They haven't stretched or bobbled after quite a bit of wear. I got some recently from H&M but they're sooo long on a short arse like me - they fall down all day. Still looking for decent leggings.

Cinnamon my tummy button is very close to popping! It's sore and pushes on my clothes now.

I can't believe how much there is to think about before this baby comes! Each time I think I've made a decision something else comes along. Hoping I will feel more prepared after antenatal classes which start in march.

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 12/01/2017 22:02

3rd May due date ladies blossom, bright, cinnamon, sal, teainbed we have 111 more sleeps (give or take) until we get to meet our little beans/ pegs/ blobbies!

We have borrowed an ultrasound scanner from a pig farmer friend so have given up watching telly in favour of peeking at the baby Grin

Badgerbird · 12/01/2017 22:14

Barnes we stayed there last year - best infinity pool ever !!!!!
You can get good deals with Thompson. We actually booked Riu direct then used air miles for flights.

Wow we are a bunch of fast paced ladies! Imagine needing to find something that someone wrote yesterday and we have to scroll back 3 pages...
I've been out and about for a day and I have lots to catch up on.
Will post tomorrow but missed you all!

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 13/01/2017 04:30

Hi all, I'm back from holiday visiting the family, took me days to catch up on the thread.

A lot of talk of shopping, I haven't started even thinking about it but have tons of stuff left over from DS1. I did buy a few bits and pieces of clothes, a couple of mat jeans from h&m (one of them in velvet, they look really good). They were the only maternity specific things I bought, otherwise have just been picking up slouchy things that I can hopefully wear after.

Feeling like a blob after Christmas and holidays so starting my new year resolutions today - cutting down on wheat products and sweets and starting to exercise more regularly, planning on swimming, dumbbells and more yoga. Thought I'd make the most of the next few weeks while i can still move.

Brightsmoke · 13/01/2017 04:48

Barnes, it said I was gaining weight too fast aswell. I was a lot happier in my ignorance, so that will return from now on unless the midwife says anything!

Very jealous of the ultrasound machine dream, and I love the pegs! Imagine how exciting it will be when it's down to double figure sleeps 😮 By single, I think we will all be ready for them to be out, I know I will anyway lol

peasandquiet · 13/01/2017 07:34

Morning all 😊 Hope everyone's ok. Finally my day off feels like it's been a long week.
Had leg cramp overnight which I remember from last time bloody painful and calf goes rock solid! Not sure what brings that on in pregnancy but just another delight 😂

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 13/01/2017 08:40

Thanks ladies

For those wondering about feeling lonely, I hope we'll still be this chatty after babies come along, we'll never be bored if so! also, you always have a friend in Radio 4 and 4 extra - oh the random things we'll learn in the dead of night!! DP has got really into downloading things recently, the other day at his work whilst planting hedge whips:

Colleague: "Mumble, mumble, mumble, weather. Mumble, something about another colleague"
DP: "Colleague, I have my headphones in for a reason whilst we do this really boring, all day job"
Colleague: "What you listening to?"
DP: "A modern day adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet as narrated from the point of view of an unborn baby in the uterus"
Colleague: Shock Grin "You've changed"

Badgerbird · 13/01/2017 08:49

Hope you had good break jonsnow. Loving the sound of velvet mat jeans today! I'm with you on the getting healthier front, whilst I'm feeling good I'm making the most of walks and yoga and may even try out this preggo yoga workout DVD I got for Crimbo Shock loading back up on the salads and smoothies too now my taste buds are back into it :) Got any swimming or yoga booked in for the wknd?

dreamof Shakespeare's Hamlet as narrated from the point of view of an unborn baby in the uterus" GrinGrin so high brow! I've been listening to One Bad Mother podcasts! Anyone else like them?

savagehk · 13/01/2017 08:54

KLane I had pressure there at first, baby was lying transverse/breech with head there and feet on my lower left side. I'm pretty sure baby has moved now though as I'm getting more 'normal' movements with some right down low in my cervix and others central on my bump. Just hoping it's head down not feet down :S

Re weight gain - there's a reason they don't weigh you anymore unless there's an underlying issue - weight gain is very individual. As mentioned I'm pretty petite and put on LOADS of weight, but it all came off again pretty fast. Same as bump sizing :) Please don't worry about it unless you really think there's an issue and if so then talk to your midwife first. You need to get extra fluids (amniotic, extra blood flow), extra fat (for breastfeeding reserves), there's the placenta, the baby, the bigger boobs....

Rustler74 · 13/01/2017 09:10

peasandquiet why are you up so early in your day off?

I'm not weighing myself often. I'll start worrying if the midwife says something. However I feel I'm heavier in my knees and hips but mostly in my back. Being hypermobile anyway doesn't get better under the influence of hormones. My sister and mum both have the same as well and it may well mean that I'm less likely to get stretch marks as our skin is really elastic.

It's a relaxing morning listening to classical Miss on the radio and baby seems to like it too! I'm looking forward to next week as well when I'm going to join a choir again!

So yesterday was that day I'd been so nervous about. I was invited for appointment with occu health at the job where I was having a rough time. Luckily all went really well and I also managed to speak to my op lead, who appeared very understanding. There's a niggle of guilt still playing but at the moment they didn't seem to think I was ready to come back and take on the stressful job again. I'll be off another 4 weeks and then will be reviewed if ready for a phased return for about 4-6 weeks before going on annual leave in prep for my mat leave. As soon as I'm on annual leave I can then return to my other virtually stressless job until going on mat leave. Most likely I'll have to do alternative work anyway as my job as a children's physio is quite physically demanding for a pregnant woman lol.
I will try to make it to our meeting on Monday though, provided that the cold has all calmed down by then.
X

peasandquiet · 13/01/2017 09:35

Rustler, I have a toddler so 7am is a good morning 😂 We are off out to a class this morning braving the cold!
Those of you on mat leave for the remainder of 17 should look for your local baby sensory class, gets really booked up around here but is the class that every mum in the area recommended to me. Sept start should be about right for our babies so can do a term or 2 before going back to work.

EsmesBees · 13/01/2017 10:14

Gaga peas the definition of a day off work changes when you have a toddler! It's been over a year since I did baby sensory but I still get the 'say hello to the sun' song stuck in my head some days 😅 they are great classes

MissMooMoo · 13/01/2017 10:16

I weighed myself this morning and I have put on 4kg.
Just been into my doctors surgery to book my whopping cough injection and was told to come back after 28 weeks as they won't do it before. I was able to fill out a request for my Mat1B form so thats a plus.
just sitting in a cafe watching the snow fall here in East London and catching up with the mammoth amount of posts on this thread!
