Hi all feeling very nervous. Have an early scan at 11 today at 6+2. Been having spotting for about a week so GP has referred me to EPU . Fingers and everything crossed x

I FINALLY got my scan date after arguing with the receptionist and pointing out I'm 10+4 so I need the scan in 10-14 days really. Feels like ages to wait to get the scan but I guess I've been waiting since 4w so another 12 days will be ok. Uni starts again next week so I will have less time.

Next step is to chase my referral to the private bit of the hospital to get the harmony test done, ideally it's done at 10w as it can take 2 weeks for the results (blood test is sent to America) so you get the results for the scan but I had to be referred by the midwife and now I have to see a consultant before the test. Not helping my general grumpiness!

A what would you do if you all give your opinions.....
My bastard boss has given me a months worth of afternoon shifts despite explain twice that I feel terrible in the afternoon and I'm regularly sick. It's a job where I need total concentration all the time but by 2 pm I want to sleep.
DP thinks i should be signed off for a bit and I can't decide. I've got to go in today as it's too late to arrange cover but I am dreading it!

mistletoe talk to your boss again, explain thatyou feel unwell in the afternoon but feel fine to work in the mornings. Boss has a duty to make reasonable adjustments. If that fails, go to the go and get signed off. You and baby are more important than a job.

mistletoe I would speak to your boss again and possibly Occupational Health too, if you have no luck then I'd go to your GP.

So I called to say I would be late, reason I was going to be late was I was driving to work and needed to be sick, nowhere to stop which resulted in sick in my lap!
I've been moaned at for being late and promptly left on my own!

Anyone who had had their booking appointment already, how long did it take?

Have been MIA for a few days, spent most of Christmas and New Year asleep, or feeling exhausted! Seems like it is going so slowly, now 6+2. Still no date for booking in appointment but got to ring next week. So very anxious that something is wrong, but there has been no sign of anything wrong of course. This wait and see is horrible!

Had my booking in appointment this afternoon, mid wife was really nice although she was a fill in - she only asked questions about my medical history, she said the midwife would give me a call to book something in next week and take bloods, she also said to expect a letter through the post, my scan would be around the 11-12 weeks mark (which is in two/three weeks). Took 30 months mutes in total and I walked straight in as there was no one in the waiting room.

MrsG, I had my booking app yesterday. It took about 50 mins.

MrsG my appointment took around 1hr20mins but that seemed like a very long appointment.

Midwife was fantastic though and took her time, gave me loads of time to ask questions and discuss answers.

I've got mine on Saturday and it said to expect 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. I am a bit nervous about it warning of some very in-depth questioning. What sort of stuff do they ask you?

We've moved onto a new thread! I've been MIA as my nausea and MS kicked in badly on boxing day! I've barely been eating anything so i saw my GP yesterday and I've got some meds and been signed off for a couple of weeks. Hi to all the newbies. I'm off to read the full thread now!

Is someone able to add me to the secret Facebook group please?!
Also I think my due date is 28th august although not confirmed til dating scan if I can please be added to the list at the top of the thread . Loving be able to follow this thread and having people to discuss it with until we start telling people we know! Xx

Lovely to hear about all the midwife appointments too

I finally had my first GP appointment (at 7+2) so it's nice to have the first step done and I will now wait to hear from the hospital/midwives about the booking appointment and the 12 week scan which will be in mid Feb (it seems like a million years away!)

At my booking in appointment yesterday the midwife said that I'm supposed to carry this massive blue folder around with me everywhere I go! Does anyone actually do that?!

Hi everyone - I had a bit of a meltdown today because, well, I'm terrified. This is my first pregnancy and I'm (ahem) not a spring chicken anymore, so I managed to convince myself that I'm going to miscarry any minute now . All this emotional upheaval has exhausted me too so I'm now on the sofa, unable to move.

Ugh I hate feeling worried I'm 6 + 5 and today I've had no symptoms, I haven't felt nauseous in a couple of days. My boobs are only slightly tender. I'm driving myself mad thinking oh gosh what if I have to wait another 6 and a half weeks for a scan and then even then I don't hear a heart beat?!
Why am I being like this, I'm normally such a positive person. I know I can't do anything about it but I hate not knowing & not knowing when a scan date is is making me worse!

i've been signed off work due to HG & on cyclizin tablets. still feeling ill but not being sick as much. so so tired though

Hey jaffa and sunny - how bad with sickness were you, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm puking 3-5 times a day, constantly nauseous, no appetite, and have lost about 10lbs, keeping water and some bland food down but so so knackered and nothing seems to help. Just not sure if it's just bad morning sickness or something worse!
Had the flu and chest infection over Xmas which hasn't helped with lack of appetite- oh the miracle of pregnancy!
