Hello everyone! Lost this thread as hadn't commented for a while and have been waiting for it to pop up again! Got put forward 3 days at my 12 week so I am now 16+6 due on 28/07/17!

Baby is happy and healthy and I am DEFINITELY showing!! I work in a nursery so have had to tell parents and one touched my belly today!!

Listened to the heartbeat at the midwife yesterday, recorded it to send to OH and her bloody phone started ringing!!

whoateallthejaffacakes · 16/02/2017 21:19

have signed up for Aquabellies (pregnancy water type exercise) beginning in march in a bid to help with the pain down one side of bikini line/groin/up to hip that now seems permanent and making me waddle.
fingers crossed HG sickness has lifted significantly and continues to stay away. have lost another 3&half lb since booking appointment which totals just short of 20lb since finding out i was pregnant, now 58.4kg and expecting to put the weight back on again now the throwing up is disappearing. 5wks til 20wk scan & hopefully find out gender/sex as well, cant wait to see baby again

IntoTheWoods84 · 17/02/2017 08:23

Yay jaffa! Glad your sickness is improving a bit! I'm still sick at night, if I eat cheese or just eat too much. I've lost a similar amount of weight - just can't keep it on for once in my life! Really hoping I can sort that out soon. Pain sounds tough though - hope you get a smoother 2nd trimester.

MrsG280516 · 17/02/2017 09:06

Jaffa that's great, you can keep it haha. I just did one for the FB group and that took long enough Grin

Trenzalor · 17/02/2017 13:26

Hi all,
I've been lurking rather than posting. I had my 12 week scan today which I've been incredibly nervous about. Thankfully all is well. They've moved my due date back a week as the baby measures 13weeks but I'm ignoring that as my daughter measured a week ahead throughout (my OH is very tall, which my daughter has inherited).
It's been great to hear about everyone else's scans. Good luck to anyone still waiting.

FudgeCrackers · 17/02/2017 14:07

Had my 12wk scan a couple of days ago, so EDD is now 22nd August. Lovely to see a hiccuping baby, and now it's time to relax and just enjoy being pregnant. We've now told everyone, which was great fun. We don't want to find out the sex, so I've been having to stop myself staring at the photos too much and trying to work out what nub theory is!

TMI26 · 17/02/2017 14:59

Three fissapeard for me too! Jaffa sorry to hear about your sufferings, first week back after my horrendous sickness bug, feels like such a long week - defo starting to show now although have only told a select few people, I find it all a bit weird 'announcing' I'm pregnant so I'll let people find out as and when! My due date has moved to the 10th - the Naseua is very slowly but surely beginning to subside although still have no energy to do anything! I've been told to enjoy the 2nd trimester but not much enjoyment going on atm!

Ice to see some newbies - welcome :)

lynseyc83 · 17/02/2017 16:42

Had my scan yesterday- now due 22/08/17

Skipskip85 · 17/02/2017 20:17

Hi all, I've been lurking for a while too. Didn't dare join until after my scan and I'd seen this was all actually happening! EDD is 13th August. Has anyone else found they have low PAPP A after screening and bloods? Trying not to google too much, and wait to speak to mw at my 16w appt!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/02/2017 08:40

Fudge if it makes you feel any better about trying to work it out from the photo all 4 of my older children had 'boy' nubs at their 12 week scan. 2 of them are boys 2 of them are girls. This little ones is the same! I'm suspecting it's a boy based on my symptoms but who knows! Only 24ish weeks 'til I find out Grin

Trenzalor · 18/02/2017 09:58

Has anyone else developed PGP? I sailed through my last pregnancy with no problems and am already hobbling at twelve weeks. I'm looking for a osteo/physio but has anyone got any other ideas?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/02/2017 10:11

Yes Trenzalor I had spd & sciatica very mildly with #1&2 slightly worse with #3. With #4 I was in agony by 16 weeks last time. I had physio & also a realignment but neither really worked. I found a belt helped a little & had I not had a buggy to push up & down to school would probably have used crutches. I'm 15 weeks now & my sciatica has started but although my hips are painful they're not as bad as they were at this point last time. The problem is common sense tells you to stay mobile but that doesn't help with it.

Trenzalor · 18/02/2017 11:21

Serial belt ordered and possible osteos/phsyios emailed...

Trenzalor · 18/02/2017 11:21

Spelling fail :(

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/02/2017 11:38

I hope you get it sorted, or at least managable, it's miserable, especially when it starts early on.

OkyDoke · 19/02/2017 17:52

How is everyone doing today?

LondonSkylar · 19/02/2017 17:58

Hi all,

New to mumsnet and new to the world of babies and pregnancy! I'm due on August 20th 2017 and still haven't had my first mid-wife appointment. It's a long story involving a GP who gave the wrong advice, a hospital that lost my referral form and didn't pick up the phone and a fiancee who got increasingly worried...

I'm due to have the first mid-wife appointment next week, do you have any advice to share? Do's and don'ts?

I've had the first scan and that went really well - baby is actually in there and looks healthy :-)

MrsG280516 · 19/02/2017 20:03

Well we had our private gender scan today and it turns out our gut feeling we're right and we're having a little girl! 💗 I'm so excited! Here she is at 16 weeks.

thenorthernluce · 19/02/2017 20:06

Hi Londonskylar, welcome! Sorry to hear you were lost in the system, but you aren't too far out. The first midwife appointment is pretty long with lots of questions, so don't feel too overwhelmed. Be prepared to give a urine sample and a blood sample, and they will measure your height and weight. Take a list of questions with you and write down the answers, cos if you're anything like me, you'll feel a bit overwhelmed and not remember everything afterwards!

Good luck!

LondonSkylar · 19/02/2017 21:00

Thanks for the advice thenorthernluce. I'm planning to bring a notebook because I forget things a little too easily but I hadn't thought about planning the questions in advance. I will definitely do that though - thanks for suggesting it!

MustBeThursday · 20/02/2017 09:29

Lovely little girl scan MrsG I'm waiting impatiently for my next scan on 29th March - it's ages away! Off to the GP this morning as I still can't shake this cold/cough/sinus thing.

Has anyone booked holidays while pregnant before? I need to book travel insurance - None of them will let me declare pregnancy under medical, how on earth do I do it?

firsttimer12345 · 20/02/2017 09:43

Thursday We are going away in April and I rang our insurance and they said it's covered under normal insurance as long as you're under a certain number of weeks. Think it was 26 or 28 weeks. Ours is with American Express but before I rang them I had a look for a new one, trying to declare it, and couldn't find anything either. Probably worth finding a good quote and then calling them before you buy!

Catherinebee85 · 20/02/2017 09:51

Skipskip85 I had low PAPP-A and high bHCG which combined with my age and weight (I assume you're the same age as me given your username) put me at Hugh risk of downs syndrome.

I would imagine that if you've had those results and they've not advised you of anything then you're not to worry.

Further testing all came back clear, but the low PAPP-A means that they've put me on a low dose of aspirin.

If you're worrying about it just give your midwife or the screening midwives at your hospital a phone call but I think no news is good news Smile

Brainfried1986 · 20/02/2017 10:30

Morning all!

So 16+5 & I'm still waiting for this miraculous 2nd trimester energy to kick in...at the moment I still feel rather worn out all the time.

Anyone else feeling a bit full to bursting?! Baby seems to be putting a lot on of pressure on my lower abdomen at the mo, constantly feels like the sensation of having eaten waaay too much, but lower down above my pelvic bone. Really hoping I'm not carrying this baby low down like this for the next 5 months! It kinda feels like my insides aren't stretching out as easily as my outsides!!! Hmm

Heatherbaby · 20/02/2017 11:20

mrsG lovely scan! Woop all pink things! Looks like my amazing guessing ability is nothing more than guessing hehe!

brainfried 15w5d here and still no sign of energy filled second trimester for me. The sickness and nausea continues to look but I'm not sure if iv gotten used to it but I do feel able to do things and go out around being sick, rather than lay in bed all day!

Hope you feel better soon!
