For anyone with worries/anxiety, I really recommend an early private scan if you can afford one.

WantingBaby1 · 04/01/2017 18:38

woods sounds like morning sickness but bad morning sickness. Have you seen your gp? If you're vomiting that much you may be dehydrated. How many weeks are you? I'd go and see the gp if this has been going on for more than a few days. Sorry you're suffering Flowers

IntoTheWoods84 · 04/01/2017 18:44

Thanks wanting - will call GP in the morning. I'm 10 weeks so really hoping relief is round the corner! It's been like this for 2-3 weeks so all lines up with morning sickness rather than HG- just don't wanna be a wimp!

ALLthedinosaurs · 04/01/2017 18:51

Can I join in? I'm due 23rd August with Zigazigahh
I have my GP appt on saturday and booked a private scan for a couple of weeks time. I'm bed bound with sickness right now (started at 5 weeks) and crying at everything but pretty bloody pleased to be here 😊

Zelda91 · 04/01/2017 18:55

Jaffa you are fantastically organised with all of those dates. My EDD (at the moment) is the 14th August, but I'm not hugely clear on that as I have irregular cycles anyway and have had two implants in a row (which got rid of my periods all together), the latter of which was removed in September 2016. Seeing the MW a week tomorrow and then hopefully they'll book me an U/S sharpish!

Getting a little anxious/overwhelmed with the symptoms or lack thereof. This is my first so I don't really have a baseline to go from.
I haven't had any actual sickness, just nausea... actually, the only real long-term symptoms I've had are being tired, eating enough for a family of ten and bloating (it's not all food I promise!).

Managed to only tell my OH, mum, cousin (who is also my God-Mother) and best friend so far, pretty impressed with myself!! How are the rest of you all doing? Have you managed to avoid unwanted discoveries over the festive period?

Zelda91 · 04/01/2017 18:59

Ah yes, dinosaurs, count me in for being emotional at everything too. I seem to well up at least 5 times a day for no apparent reason.

ALLthedinosaurs · 04/01/2017 19:09

Zelda with my first I didn't have any symptoms until about 8-9 weeks then got moderate nausea. I think I got my linea nigra before my sickness! (I'm quite pigmented) This time the nausea kicked in at 4+6 and at the moment I can barely get up. If anyone hasn't guessed by now I'll be amazed. But I've waited about 3 years for this so I cannot complain!

Today I burst into tears several times reading descriptions of food 😂

Sparklyuggs · 04/01/2017 19:40

lentil I hope you are ok, rest if that's what you feel you need.Flowers

Woods I was like that, that is more than normal morning sickness, especially the weight loss. I'd see your GP.

I had a volunteer meeting earlier and had to run out twice to be sick. I don't want to announce I'm pg yet so I'm sure they thought it was a bit odd. Luckily they were typically British and politely ignored it Smile

Emeraude · 04/01/2017 19:44

By my LMP, I am 7+3 and have had no sickness. A bit of queasiness, food aversions and generally often don't feel like eating, but I've not actually thrown up. Christmas was quite bad, sat around in a hot room watching everyone eat stuff that was turning my stomach and not being able to leave the table. Other than that, my boobs hurt a lot and I am definitely getting fat. I have generally always had a massive arse and hips and a small waist, but that disappeared about the same time as the test was taken. I also have pretty much not left my bed for a week through laziness/tiredness and now get out of breath walking round the block too fast so really looking forward to going back to work. Sad

thenorthernluce · 04/01/2017 20:30

To all those feeling anxious, I can thoroughly recommend an early scan. I had one yesterday at 9+1 (£100, but worth every penny) and I saw the little one in its sac with the yolk next to it and though I didn't hear the heartbeat, I saw the sound waves on the screen - all amazing! The report I got showed the BPM is 176, which is just right, and the little one is 22mm, which is also as it should be.

It made me feel heaps better, as my anxiety was through the roof and I'd managed to convince myself that there was no foetus there. I know things can still go wrong, but it really eased my mind and even got me feeling excited about what lies ahead.

If you can't stretch to a final scan, I'm sure a sympathetic GP could be convinced to refer you for an early NHS scan, as the mental health of the mother is just as important as her physical health.

Good luck all xx

thenorthernluce · 04/01/2017 20:31

*private, not final Confused

LittleMissSunshine33 · 04/01/2017 21:21

Thanks for the updated list Jaffa!

Amber if you PM me your email address I can try to add you to the FB group Smile

Itsalwayssunny · 04/01/2017 21:25

woods I would definitely see your GP. I am being sick in the morning and again at night and inbetween that constant nausea stopping me eating anything. It got really bad at the weekend and I nearly fainted. I had it bad last time too and lost 7lbs in a week.

The baby will get what it needs from you regardless of what food you eat but for your own wellbeing I would definitely go and get some meds. Hope you feel better soon.

whoateallthejaffacakes · 04/01/2017 21:53

woods i got to the point where i couldn't keep water down & was eating only a teeny tiny piece of food per day, lost weight, dizzy, heart palpatations, two tiny almost non existant pee's per day, no bowel movements in over a week etc so Dr took action of meds to see how things go and review in 10-14 days. meds have enabled me to eat half slice of toast for breakfast, one of those mini kids tins of sprite & half slice of plain pizza today which is a BIG improvement for me. if you are worried or feeling very unwell then best to get checked out

TMI26 · 04/01/2017 22:55

I've been having these awful tear jerking cramps for the past two days, the firsts ones were quite low down by today's higher up-so painful and nothing seems to relieve them, no blood: was absolutely petrified and kept checking, I've beeen searching around and it looks as though they may be caused by constipation and gas? I haven't really been in today so I'm guessing His may be it-anyone else experiencing a constipation?

IntoTheWoods84 · 04/01/2017 22:58

Thank you so much everyone. I'll get in touch with the GP for sure.

that sounds horrible jaffa - really hope you feel better soon and continue to be able to eat and drink. Fingers crossed we'll forget this part. Flowers

Kirstyinnorway · 05/01/2017 06:31

TMI that sounds horrid and worrying of course (isn't everything just now).
It probably is constipation, which I'm suffering with too, and can be very sore and uncomfortable. Perhaps speak to your doctor anyway just in case, they can maybe prescribe you something to help.

TeamLentil · 05/01/2017 07:40

Thank you Sparkly, DH sent me to bed at 8pm and that helped!

TMI, I was rather constipated for about a week after I did the test, so I increased quite massively the greens (cavolo nero seems to do the trick) and the water...even though I seem to be going to the loo every two seconds!

cadihaf · 05/01/2017 08:57

Good morning! Can I join please? Can't quite believe I'm saying that!

EDD 19 August based on LMP.

First time, so over analyzing every little thing - haha!

Lots of nausea & sickness & tiredness - had to tell parents as I work with my Mum and wouldn't have been able to hide feeling so ill.

Got a date for midwife but need to change it due to DP's work commitments.

Brainfried1986 · 05/01/2017 09:31

Like so many of you, the change in symptoms freaks me out the most - I'm no longer quite as bloated, and not really queasy anymore (tho when I haven't eaten for a while I start to feel really weird prob cos of low blood sugar). Other than that just slightly sore boobs, and today a killer headache, but I think I didn't drink much yesterday so hope that's the reason.
Seeing the gp today - no idea what specifically for, but it'll be nice to see a medical professional. I just feel like I'm going to be told I've made a mistake or something!!! The early scan idea is so massively tempting...

Lixon · 05/01/2017 09:32

So sorry to hear about your terrible sickness jaffa, woods and sunny I hope you're all feeling less nauseous soon and I'd definitely get checked out woods - sounds awful.

Congratulations to Amber and northernluce on the scans - it's such a relief seeing a little heartbeat isn't it. I'd have driven myself mad with anxiety by now if I hadn't had one (and am already ready for the next!!)

Welcome cadihaf, there's a few first timers here so you're in good company Smile

Insomnia is driving me mad again now I'm back at work, can't wait for the weekend - I seem to sleep well after around 7am annoyingly - I really don't know how some of you guys manage with other kids already!! Still no actual vomiting but nausea comes in waves, mostly when I'm hungry (and I am hungry A LOT!)

JustTrixie · 05/01/2017 09:56

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late but hope it's ok to join. I'm 35 and finally pregnant with my first after a loooong time ttc and several rounds of IVF. Still can't quite believe it and terrified something will go wrong. Due date is 13 August. Had an early scan and saw a heartbeat which was a major relief. Waiting for my booking in and 12 week scan appointment at the mo.

Feeling guilty today as I've called in sick. My symptoms kicked in over Xmas and was off work so able to relax but have struggled being back at work. Have been shattered during the day but then unable to sleep at night. I'm a bit of a zombie today and just couldn't face the bus ride to work, let alone a day sat at my computer trying not to fall asleep.

Kirstyinnorway · 05/01/2017 10:59

Made ginger chocolate brownies today for me and preggo friend this evening... Thank god I tried them before taking them round - used salt instead of sugar and now I won't be eating anything else again today

Got an interview today. Currently unemployed... Won't be telling them about Ladybird (size reference this week from Ovia). Feeling pretty guilty but I know I won't get it if I tell them! Confused

thenorthernluce · 05/01/2017 12:12

Has anyone else looked into NCT ante natal classes yet? I don't know if it's the done thing, planning this early, but the course in my area (or rather, the area we're moving to) for those due in early August is seven sessions over 1 to 29 June. I want to book now, but is this tempting fate a bit? My rational side says no, as the fact they're advertising it to those due in early August means it might not just be me, but I'd love to know what others think! Thanks!

ALLthedinosaurs · 05/01/2017 12:12

Am a newbie too 😊
