fatty sad news. Sorry to hear this xx

88claire · 02/01/2017 17:36

Can I join?! Ovia due date 22nd August (not entirely sure that's correct but got a doctors appt on Saturday!)

Found out I'm expecting two days ago and in shock!

Dixiechick1991 · 02/01/2017 17:52

Hello claire according to ovia I'm due 25th
Congratulations! I'm still in shock and I found out day after Boxing Day!

TeamLentil · 02/01/2017 18:04

I think I will be in shock until D-day to be honest Confused

88claire · 02/01/2017 18:14

Thanks DixieChick

I would have known sooner if it wasn't for the stupid cheapie pregnancy tests! Did a clearblue when I was massively late (day 49 but my cycles are dodgy) and it was blaringly obvious. The cheapies still said negative 😂

I think I might even be a September due date but we shall see 😊

Congratulations everyone! I'm still trying to process it!

August 2017: the one in which we'll get midwife appointment
hrfvenia · 02/01/2017 19:59

So sorry put and fatty 😔

I'm an evening nausea sufferer. Finding it really difficult as it's just draining feeling sick all the time but nothing coming up!

I've just come back from NYE in Dublin which was booked way before we found out about baby! The worst thing was that I was drinking ginger ale and I must have drank so much it came me such weird dreams! Woke up sweating at one point because of them!

I'm also suffering from (sorry TMI) swollen lady garden syndrome. Tried a bit of morning fun today and honestly felt like a sausage maker it was so swollen. hoping very much this is a temporary symptom!

Scan date is 20th of Jan 😊😊

MrsG280516 · 02/01/2017 20:02

Hi 88claire looks like if you had a long cycle and are getting 1-2 weeks on a digi then you'll have only ovulated about 12-14 days ago so will most likely have a September due date Smile

88claire · 02/01/2017 20:14

Thanks Mrs G

That's a bit of a relief as we've got a once in a lifetime holiday booked to Mexico in June and the airline are funny if you're too far along!

Will see what the doctor says but I probably need a scan to get an actual due date :)

mistletoeprickles · 02/01/2017 21:15

Oh fatty Flowers be kind to yourself. Lots of rest.

I have sickness as well as nausea. The nausea is the worst though. Hoping to get a gp appointment tomorrow because from about 12 I'm terrible. DP said I'm like a gremlin but backwards!

Hi claire if it helps I'm yet to have a positive on an Internet cheap. Stupid things. I got mine BFP on a first response. It was the best test I've ever seen, I hadn't even finished peeing and it was positive. I was shouting DP like a mad women! Oddly I've not done one since but with the extra scans I haven't needed too really.

hrf I hope you had a nice break. Isn't weird dreams a symptom anyway?

Hoping to be able to contact the midwife tomorrow. With my history I haven't wanted to book appointments so it'll be quite a big step really

MustBeThursday · 02/01/2017 22:31

Hello. Can I tentatively join? I can't talk about it with anyone in RL yet. I don't have an actual due date yet - Think I'm between 6 and 9 weeks based on symptoms/test date, so would be due in August. I got my first positive test on 12th Dec but I still haven't got my head round it - a bit of a surprise second baby!

I've been feeling rotten, much worse than I remember feeling with my first, my boobs hurt, I'm dizzy, nauseous all the time, although I'm not actually being sick which is something at least.

I hope it's OK for me to join.

ZigAZigAhh · 02/01/2017 22:57

Welcome MustBe!

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling great - I am with you on the second time round seeming tougher already (I'm also having a sort of surprise second baby - not entirely unforeseen but we definitely weren't "trying"! We haven't told anyone in RL yet either...)

Sparklyuggs · 03/01/2017 07:19

Welcome mustbe I think all our due dates are a bit vague because we've not had our dating scans. Sorry to hear you have been unwell, I was bed bound from 5w-9w with hyperemesis but slowly starting to feel better now and get more excited about the whole thing Smile

Going to chase the scan unit today as I'm 10+4 now so I need to get the date sorted ASAP (I don't live in the UK and they're very slow here, they genuinely would call me up next week and say hey do you want your scan today).

TeamLentil · 03/01/2017 08:03

Welcome Mustbe!

Kirstyinnorway · 03/01/2017 08:11

Hello mustbe!

Well that's me finally feeling pregnant now! From waking up to bedtime it's like I've got a medium-strength hangover (headache, nausea, dizziness). It's not too bad for me because I work from home and can nap when I feel most awful, but how some of you ladies are getting up, going to an office and stating at a computer screen is beyond me!

I run a small arty business and answer to no one except clients (who I always give long lead times to anyway!) ... And the worst bit is that I've gone off tea! Shock

Kirstyinnorway · 03/01/2017 08:12

*staring

Blink1982 · 03/01/2017 08:38

I'm off tea too kirsty :( at 10 wks I can manage maybe one a week.

Kirstyinnorway · 03/01/2017 08:41

It's mad blink! I'm normally a 5-6 cups per day girl (don't drink coffee!)

I bought tons of decaf bags too Envy

firsttimer12345 · 03/01/2017 08:52

Snap with the tea!

Leaving for work in 10 mins and not dressed as have been pucking. How do other people manage!?

MustBeThursday · 03/01/2017 08:58

Hello people Smile

Sparkly Mine's a bit of an educated guess because I don't have a proper LMP date to work from, beyond a small withdrawal bleed some time in October, which they're apparently not counting Hmm. I have PCOS so have some pretty long cycles (my last actual period was in June...). Poor you being bed bound, glad to hear it's improving.

Zig We weren't exactly trying either - we were planning to ask for a referral back to the consultant for clomid in the new year (which has now started!) as we'd been told that would be pretty much the only way I'd conceive again as I'm not ovulating, although that's clearly not entirely true!

Lixon · 03/01/2017 09:18

Welcome Claire and MustBe. Sounds like you defied medical convention MustBe, that's amazing and hopefully a relief to avoid Clomid and that stress..

Sorry you're feeling rubbish Kirsty, make the most of those naps! And I hope you made it into work ok first, that sounds rubbish :(

I had got so used to waking for a few hours and then sleeping in until 9 or 10 during the holidays and feeling human again that getting up at 7 not having made it back to sleep from around 5 is horrid. Am hoping it's just back to work stress and might disappear but not convinced..

Sparklyuggs · 03/01/2017 09:39

Just to say to any newbies or anyone who has missed it but there is a Facebook group (completely secret etc) if anyone wants to join send sociallyacceptablecookie a PM or if you send me one I can attempt it.

MrsG280516 · 03/01/2017 09:44

So not in the mood to be back at work today. Luckily I've only got 3 days before I'm off again as we're going to New York for 4 nights on Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed that the sickness stays away. If the nausea stays at the same level it has been recently then I can easily cope with that.

WantingBaby1 · 03/01/2017 11:24

Welcome newbies!

So I have a work dilemma. I work for a huge company on a fixed term contract. A permanent job came up and my boss encouraged me to apply. I did. Then I found out I was pregnant. I've now been offered an interview. Is it OK to go to the interview, hiding my pregnant status and fully in the knowledge that I'll then be off from July on maternity leave, possibly for a year? Or is that just not ethical? It's a huge company employing thousands of people so not a start up or anything of that nature. I'm 9 weeks now and haven't told work yet.

Sparklyuggs · 03/01/2017 11:44

wanting I think it's fine, as you have no obligation to tell them at this stage, and if you are the right person then a large company like that should be able to work around it. That said, I don't know if you are entitled to maternity leave in that situation so it may be something you need to negotiate?

I'd definitely apply though, it's always good to show a keenness to progress and legally they can't discriminate against you. Also, I think 'life' has to continue during pregnancy, just in case the worst were to happen (keeping everything crossed for you that it doesn't of course but it's always a small possibility for any of us). Good luck with it!

WantingBaby1 · 03/01/2017 12:17

Thanks sparkley. I would be eligible for the maternity package, which is pretty good, as I've been working for the company for a year already and this would be a change in role rather than a "new" job as such. Bit wary that some people will think I shouldnt apply in the circumstances.
