had a consultant appointment today & date changed back to the date i had calculated. baby was very wriggly so only got 1 measurement. asked about first labour & i said the induction of waters being broken and drip along with failed epidural stressed me out at the time making me feel like i had no control after 4days of labouring without progress and they said there will be no induction this time as no bleeds so far and there was no reason to fear a large baby as my almost 9lb'er isn't classed as big Hmm. have been booked in for the 20wk scan exactly on date & told we could find out sex if we wish, i do wish as want to sort out all the clothes i've kept so far with 2year old DC. currently 12wks & HG is letting up a little, hope it continues to get better although i have very little clothes that fit due to the weight loss and putting off buying some as i know im going to get bigger soon. hope you are all keeping well

Waterfeature · 25/01/2017 23:17

Great work with the list Jaffa.

Really happy for your scan wanting.

I've booked a private scan for tomorrow. Decided I just can't wait another 3 weeks. Have just discovered there's a Tube strike tomorrow so getting there will be a bit of a pain.

I came across a nursing bra in my drawer so I gratefully put it on. Went from 34B to 36D and it's still tight! I don't want to get anything new until after the dating scan though...

Catherinebee85 · 25/01/2017 23:18

I've been missed off the list. I'm now 18th August. DP is scared he'll have to share his birthday with little one as his birthday is 23rd!

Blink1982 · 26/01/2017 07:40

jaffa well done on the list. My dates been moved to 25th July ... although I was using opk tests so I'm certain it'll still be 2nd Aug time.

Starting to feel the easiness of 2nd trimester. My flawless preggo skin has finally arrived (it's the only time I never have massive red spots) I'm not as sickly although I do still feel nausea about 10am, so I Darent remove my sea bands yet.

14/15 weeks... is it too early to start buying bits? I've seen a next to me cot for 90 and I'm sure many of you now how expensive they are. I really want one but is it too soon to buy??

Kirstyinnorway · 26/01/2017 07:42

I'd buy it if it were on a good deal blink! I think I'll start keeping an eye out after the 12-week mark (although try to avoid actually shopping until the last trimester... Only so I don't fill my house though)! Glad you're feeling better.

Mammoth work on the list jaffa, well done!

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 26/01/2017 10:33

Great work on the list Jaffa, can you pop me back on it haha. Im due 26/7 im still hanging on in there! Grin
just a curiosity but does anyone know what they look/test in the blood for the 12 week scan? Ive had mine and the result but im intreagued(sp?) As to what they look for.
14 weeks today!!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 26/01/2017 11:06

Hi all. Could I join please? I've got my dating scan on Tuesday but am due around 8/8 although baby will likely arrive before then as I've never made it to my edd. This will be dc #5.

Had an awful time so far, didn't realise I was pregnant until Jan when dh said to take a test as I was acting pregnant Hmm. Then had a big bleed at the weekend, thankfully just sch again (I've them with 3 out of the older 4) & got to see that oh so wonderful & reassuring little hb yesterday.

I'm generally terrified this time! But in an excited way if that makes sense.

Lizzielicious · 26/01/2017 11:10

pancakes they test your blood for a protein called PAPPA and hCG hormone (the one that gives a positive HPT). Pregnancies with Down's tend to have low PAPP and high hCG. You can also get the quadruple test after 14 weeks which looks at 4 different hormones. Hope that is what you wanted to know!

Sparklyuggs · 26/01/2017 11:20

blink I would buy it for that price, you could keep it in the box with the receipt and it could be returned in the unlikely event it needed to be.

Waterfeature · 26/01/2017 11:36

Bad news from me too. I'm 9+6 today but the baby was only measuring 7+2 and there was no heartbeat. They told me to come back for another scan in a week or go to EPU. The doc seemed surprised I was upset and told me there was probably something wrong with the baby and I should be grateful for the children I have. Angry

I'm not sure what I'll do re the next step not sure if I can stand the horrible limbo of waiting for nature to take its course but meanwhile I wish everyone all the best.

Pisghetti · 26/01/2017 11:45

Oh water I'm so sorry and what a really shitty attitude from the doctor Angry so no parent should be upset about the loss of a child if they have another one? Ridiculous. Hope you're ok Flowers

Kirstyinnorway · 26/01/2017 12:12

I'm so sorry water, awful news and awful attitude from the doctor. Hope you and your OH can have a chat about your next actions and help each other Flowers

Fieldandgrasses · 26/01/2017 12:23

So very sorry, Water.

TMI26 · 26/01/2017 14:27

Water - so sorry :( such bad news, very sad for you hope you have your family around to support. I have my scan tomorrow, and I'm petfrified just keep praying all is well this week has been a disaster and I'm pumped full of drugs also my symptoms are almost non existent.

Catherine, I share your husbands birthday and his fear! We got married close to my dhs birthday and I still hate it so this would make Things worse - right now to be honest tho I don't care!

ZigAZigAhh · 26/01/2017 16:07

So so sorry water - what devastating news and what a shitty shitty thing for the doctor to say Angry sending you my thoughts and gentle hugs, hope you have lots of RL support you can lean on Flowers

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 26/01/2017 17:09

So sorry Water. I hope your ok. What a horrid doctor, who cares what they think its a life lost at the end of the day. Nasty. [Flowers]

Lizzie thanks for the info i was curious!!

Im starting to feel movement on the odd occasion when Im lying down. Its exciting!!

thenorthernluce · 26/01/2017 18:38

I had my dating scan today - all well and good, though the cheeky thing was upside down. The sonographer was quiet for ages, which made me feel crazy, but my husband said afterwards he could see the baby moving all that time, which is good to hear, as I took absolutely nothing in!

Some stats: nuchal translucency measured at 1.9mm and crown to rump 61.2mm. 12 weeks 4 days today and my revised due date is 7 August. I can't stop cooing over the photo!

This milestone also marks, for me, the best time to get back on my antidepressants, before my mental health spirals further. Happy, relaxed mum = (hopefully!) happy, relaxed baby, so I'm doing this for both of us Smile

firsttimer12345 · 26/01/2017 19:17

Revised due date also 7th August after our lovely scan today.
We had a very wriggly baby but was so lovely to see it twisting and turning on the screen!

clevername · 26/01/2017 20:11

So sorry to hear your bad news, Water. What a horrible, insensitive doctor... Flowers

clevername · 26/01/2017 20:12

'bad' was meant to be sad. I realise there isn't much difference!

missslw · 26/01/2017 20:17

Well....... I Went for the early scan at my supposedly 10+3 and not a lot to see on the ultrasound so I had an internal - knew then all was not ☹️ there was a sac and yolk but irregular shape and if anything a 3-4 week gegsation period...... so I know I'm not stupid and the third pregnancy test I did on 15th Dec said I was 3-4 weeks but they still want me to go back for a rescan in 2 weeks.... Sad
oh and they have seen a cyst on my left hand side ...... 😧

clevername · 26/01/2017 20:23

And congrats to those who have had happy scans today. So nervous about mine but still looking forward to it (if that makes sense?!)... still got over a week to wait though...

watchingitallagain · 26/01/2017 20:34

I've had my scan today. Just the one baby- is managed to convince myself I was having surprise twins! I feel so rough!

Kirstyinnorway · 26/01/2017 21:24

So sorry to hear that missslw Sad

Congrats to the three of you with positive scans today... Mine is tomorrow and I'm feeling sick with butterflies already Confused

Kirstyinnorway · 26/01/2017 21:25

P.s. watching I have also convinced myself I've got two in there!
