How far are you TMI? It's normal for symptoms to go a bit, mine definitely eased up slowly from 10 weeks and by 12 the heightened smell and sore boobs have gone. Sounds like you are feeling rotten though, get lots of rest Flowers

ZigAZigAhh · 24/01/2017 12:37

Oh TMI, I was wondering how you were feeling. Please don't worry about the loss of symptoms, mine are doing that constantly at the moment and then returning with a vengeance (evening sickness in particular!!) Glad to hear you have been to the doctor and hopefully the antibiotics are starting to work their magic.

Thanks MustBe and Lixon Smile

Since I hit 10 weeks smells have been getting to me reallllly badly. The Tube is the worst, it's as though everyone on the carriage has stinky breath and I spend the whole trip burying my face in my scarf. I also cried at the smell of our neighbours' garlicky cooking last night!

Waterfeature · 24/01/2017 12:46

I feel you TMI. My symptoms are coming and going too. I'm going to book a private scan I think because waiting another 3-4 weeks for news is unbearable.

One advantage of being an oldie is that I won't be invited to any weddings with bump or baby!

TMI26 · 24/01/2017 12:59

I hope your right ladies, I'm 11+5 but my cycles are long so I'm sure I'm actually a week or two behind here's to joint scan on Friday so only 4 painful days to go.

Stinkbaby · 24/01/2017 13:18

Too many weddings!!! I'm also supposed to be bridesmaid next May in Cyprus. I'm an awful planner so I won't figure anything out until next April Hmm
Got my first midwife appointment in half hour but I don't have a urine sample nor do I need a pee yet lol

FudgeCrackers · 24/01/2017 13:24

Good luck with your midwife appointment stink.

Mine isn't until next week, when I'll be 11wks, and then scan is at 13wks. The waiting is driving me crazy! We don't want to tell people until after the scan, but there are so many events we have in the the next couple of weeks where it's going to be awkward to hide.

Kirstyinnorway · 24/01/2017 13:58

You're right sparkly, it is so different over here (Scandinavia) with my first scheduled scan at 18 weeks! We have caved and booked a private one in the UK on Friday evening (we're back for my aunt's birthday anyway). I cannot wait - although I'm nervous.

Yes I'm counting the days lixon!

Glad I'm not the only one eating eating eating. I'm meant to have put on 1-3lb given my starting weight and it's more like 4-5lb (if I weigh myself naked... In the morning... After a wee... And hold my hands above my head...)

So I just want to try and halt it now and maintain for a couple of weeks to catch up with my own chart! Easier said than done, I'm still skiing frequently (apparently safe up to 13 weeks) and trying to walk every day... But I'm sooooo out of puff all the time! It's weird.

Glad to hear from you TMI, sounds like you're having a rough time and I'm sorry you're worried. My symptoms have fluctuated throughout, I think it is normal.

Good luck with your midwife appointment stink!

Kirstyinnorway · 24/01/2017 14:01

fudge it's so hard not to tell isn't it?! Especially at parties and meals out. I'm currently trying to avoid meeting people in the evenings, as in the morning I look quite normal, but by 6pm I'm bloated up to about 6 months preggo Blush it's weird to hope that people just think I'm getting fat Grin

Sorry now I feel like an ass :/

OkyDoke · 24/01/2017 15:35

Denna, you're not an ass Flowers I have to admit being seen as fat is something I'm sensitive about, but that doesn't mean I can't see your point of view.

Kirstyinnorway · 24/01/2017 15:36

Oh, I feel like that was directed at me. Sorry if I was insensitive.

I know there are many worse things than being fat - and I was just saying I would rather people thought that I'd gained weight than guessed I was pregnant before I feel ready to tell them.

I also wouldn't think they were unkind to think I'd put on weight - with how I look right now, it would be very difficult NOT to notice! It wouldn't be a criticism, just a description! I have literally gone up 2 dress sizes just to fit my bloated tummy. I would notice that on a close friend, and I hope that doesn't make me unkind (to clarify - I would never say anything though!)

My last sentence was an observation based on how I've struggled with my weight throughout my life and yo-yo's between a 10-16. 20-year-old me wouldn't believe that I would prefer to be thought fat than pregnant!

Stinkbaby · 24/01/2017 15:45

Man that felt like an interrogation, loads of questions that I couldn't answer cuz I havnt told anyone yet to get the answers lol
Glad it's over for now.
Don't feel like an ass Denna 🙃

Denna81 · 24/01/2017 16:10

I'm so sorry Kirsty you literally said nothing wrong. I'm just uber sensitive today and it's already a touchy subject for me. Thanks for being understanding.

I'm currently having a wee cry in the loos at work.. one of those days.

Kirstyinnorway · 24/01/2017 16:33

No no please don't apologise denna, I'm sorry you're having one of those days and I'm also really sorry if I triggered a sad moment. Completely unintentional and I will think more carefully before I type next time. It was a throwaway comment and I knew how I meant it (without the explanation!) but obviously you/the rest of the world didn't! So hard to judge tone on the Internet Smile

Sending hugs your way Flowers

(I'm in awe of all you guys who work in offices while pregnant, I work at home and am still taking naps after lunch!)

yolkybokey · 24/01/2017 18:16

I am also eating, eating, eating.
I feel like my life right now is thinking about food, obtaining food, preparing food and eating food, then starting again.
Whilst trying to work!

hrfvenia · 24/01/2017 20:15

sparkly I'm 13+4 today!!

The only issue I'm really having at the moment is dealing with dirty nappies at work (I work in a nursery) as that much smell that close to my face is not pleasant!!

Also having stabby stretchy pains mostly in my left hand side 😔 Feels very odd. Hoping it's just growing pains

Catherinebee85 · 24/01/2017 21:45

I'm 10+4 and have been having period type pain in my tummy and back. Seems to change sides. I'm hoping it's normal growing pains....probably not helped by the fact I've just finished two 12.5hr night shifts. Ive had zero bleeding/spotting throughout so I'm trying to use that to reassure me. So hard when you've no idea what's normal and what's a warning sign Confused

ZigAZigAhh · 24/01/2017 22:04

Catherine and hrf - I've been having loads of period pains and also stabby stretchy pains and remember them oh so well from my first pregnancy. In my experience all very normal - you can't expect your uterus etc to grow as much as it will without feeling it a bit here and there Wink

Catherinebee85 · 24/01/2017 22:25

Thankyou for replying. I keep thinking that and logically that's so obvious. I'm an intelligent person but you can drive yourself crazy with worry regardless.

Aaaaand breathe!

Sparklyuggs · 24/01/2017 23:06

kirsty I'm all about my afternoon nap, I get so upset if I have to miss it! Perks of being a mature student Smile

I get random pains, I'm assuming that it's my uterus and other bits stretching and growing...

MrsG280516 · 25/01/2017 09:38

For anyone getting cramps and period type pains, I've been told by the midwife that it's totally normal, I've had them almost every day since finding out I was pregnant. I'm 11+4 today and just waiting for my 12 week scan date to come through. So impatient!

WantingBaby1 · 25/01/2017 10:47

12 week scan today Confused trying to think calm thoughts. All will be fine...

ScottishLady7 · 25/01/2017 11:08

All WILL be fine wanting. What time is your appointment?

I'm so behind everyone else- my 12 week scan isn't until Feb 15th but I'm not sure we can wait that long- I think we might get an early scan at the weekend when I'll be 10 weeks, just for reassurance!

Stinkbaby · 25/01/2017 11:32

Hope all goes well wanting! Grin
