Ah melons I read that aloud to my DH and he felt quite emotional about it too. What a lovely lady you obviously are, and you mustn't minimise your loss, it's the most horrid thing to go through for anyone. But to put aside your sadness for a moment to help the rest of us is beyond admirable, thank you.

hrfvenia · 22/01/2017 19:57

melons that's lovely. Sometimes things just aren't the right time and it may just happen.

My scan went really well. I was feeling so nervous beforehand I couldn't keep still. OH meanwhile was so laid back he fell asleep in the waiting room!! Baby is measuring big, sonographer said ooh looks like you're about 13/14 weeks and they've dated it at 13 dead on so my EDD is now 28/07/17 ☺️☺️

Got such a lovely photo aswell. So clear except for baby's hands which were in front of its face like a little boxer!! Just can't wait to hear the heartbeat now!

TMI26 · 22/01/2017 21:04

Melons Flowers it's awful.

I'm currently slipping into and out of consciousness, fever cough headache and constant vomiting, switching between burning hot to freezing cold had some paracetamol but I feel like death. Any tips on what I can take?

thenorthernluce · 22/01/2017 21:23

TMI, go to A&E - slipping in and out of consciousness is a medical emergency, I would say. No over the counter remedy will be enough if that's one of your symptoms. Please look after yourself

Kirstyinnorway · 22/01/2017 21:31

Seconded. TMI, get yourself to the hospital. You will not be wasting their time. Are you with someone?

ZigAZigAhh · 22/01/2017 22:10

TMI hope you're on your way to hospital by now - you should definitely get checked (slipping in and out of consciousness in particular sounds v serious). Look after yourself and wishing you a very speedy recovery.

ZigAZigAhh · 22/01/2017 22:13

hrfvenia so pleased to hear your scan went well, you must be over the moon Smile

ZigAZigAhh · 22/01/2017 22:41

Hmmmm...just noticed a bit of brown discharge when I wiped. Not something I have had before in this pregnancy or in my previous pregnancy. Hopefully nothing to worry about (but worry I will!) Wink

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 22/01/2017 23:42

TMI I hope you're getting medical attention and you feel better soon. I'll be thinking of you.

Zig I think a bit of brown discharge is meant to be ok but even knowing that I would worry too! I hope it stops soon.

Melons you are an amazing woman and I'm sorry this has happened to you.

Kirstyinnorway · 23/01/2017 08:54

zig did you have sex, or do any exercise before noticing discharge? I've had a very very tiny amount off-and-on since week 5, and have noticed it's more likely when I've been skiing or playing squash, and once when DH and I had just DTD. I'm also trying not to worry myself - apparently 30% of women do notice a little brown discharge during pregnancy.

MrsG280516 · 23/01/2017 11:28

If anyone is still wanting to join the FB group then send me a PM (on here - computer or browser only, don't think you can do it via the app) with the email address you use for FB and I'll add you to the group Smile

ZigAZigAhh · 23/01/2017 12:07

Thanks Socially and kirsty - as much as I wish I could blame it on sex or vigorous activity I have been doing very little of either due to feeling exhausted and queasy (unless wrestling a heavy wriggling tantruming toddler at regular intervals counts!!)

I've been getting a lot of stabby stretchy ligament/pelvic bone niggles over the past few days which I remember well as growing pains from last time so am hoping it's just from things stretching and growing! Haven't had any more since last night so crossing everything...

MustBeThursday · 23/01/2017 15:09

Zig I'm getting those sort of pains as well, so likely not related to the dsicharge, hopefully.

DH appears to have caught a stomach bug...he's being sick, I'm being sick trying to clean it up, just hoping DD doesn't start as well!!

NamelessNinja · 24/01/2017 06:23

Hi everyone, can I join? Have been lurking for a while but have been too paranoid to join (as if joining an online group is going to jinx anything! Blush). My current EDD is the 9th August and my scan is next Thursday . So sorry to hear all the sad news Flowers

Sparklyuggs · 24/01/2017 07:45

welcome ninja how are you feeling? I think a lot of us are anxious/superstitious although I had my scan last week and feel better after it. We also have a Facebook group if that's your thing, completely secret.

I'm 13+4 today and am waiting to see if the second trimester is as great as everyone keeps telling me! I have a wedding this weekend so would be lovely to get through the day without throwing up or needing a nap.

I'm bridesmaid for my best friend in October and been working out the logistics of flying to the UK with a baby. I'm very thankful my friend listened when I said being maid of honour would be too much, at least I just need to turn up and wear the dress (in her words). The maid of honour is another matter though- I'm 'uncommitted' for not flying over to the UK without the baby at 5-7 weeks old for a dress fitting Hmm

Kirstyinnorway · 24/01/2017 08:27

Oh good lord sparkly! I was a bridesmaid at a wedding like that - bride was fine but MOH a total nightmare. One of the other 'maids had a 3-week-old child and to the MOH she was just a major inconvenience! It was so awkward Confused At least your bride is on-side and you can hopefully ignore any comments from MOH. She'll feel pretty flipping silly if she ever has kids herself.

Hi Ninja, I feel the same as you - I want to be part of the Facebook group but I'm not joining until my early scan (9+5) on Friday!

How is everyone else? I seem to be eating constantly Blush it keeps the sickness at bay but I must try and scale back!

firsttimer12345 · 24/01/2017 08:39

Sparkly I'm a bridesmaid at the start of September and definitely less committed to you as only involves a few hours in the car!
I'm stressing about dresses though but we haven't looked yet. Just 2 adult bridesmaids so no MOH but I think I will probably end up doing the bulk of the hen do planning etc. as I only work part time and am a bit of a control freak
My bride was a little funny about it to start with but I think what we'll do is have my parents come for the weekend too and book them in the same b&b so they can have a lovely weekend but be on hand incase we need them. My mum has been amazing and is writing in dates left, right and centre that they need to be ready for babysitting duty.

Sparklyuggs · 24/01/2017 08:51

kirsty that's what my mum said, one day she'll go bright red at the memory of asking someone to leave her newborn! How long until your scan date? My SIL had her baby in Denmark and found it V similar to you and a very long wait at the start.

Firsttimer I think that's a good point, I was meant to help plan the hen (I've booked the accommodation) but if I'm not there I'm limited in what I can actually do so think MOH is annoyed she'll have to do all of it as the others are useless. My parents are invited to the evening do and I'm going to stay with them in London for the week after as DH is away with work so I figure 4 adults and one baby should be ok, and the reward is a week of being looked after by my amazing parents Smile

Lixon · 24/01/2017 09:19

Ooh good luck to those being bridesmaids after the birth and working out logistics and dresses - what an awful MOH uggs!! At least the bride understands.
I am twice in April and May and just trying to work out a dress for the latter one now... luckily one bride is my sister who knows and bought stretchy dresses especially and the other one I am hoping will understand why I've been a bit rubbish when I announce next week (if all goes well with scan).

I've also been invited to a wedding in Hong Kong for a work colleague on 30 December and really want to go but she doesn't know I'm pregnant yet and I think it is probably very optimistic with a 4month old. Also we probably can't afford it. But I do really want to go!!

Zig and Mustbe I hope you're feeling better now. Cramps are so rubbish.

Kirsty you must be counting the days til Friday!! I'm very excited on your behalf. I am also eating constantly and have put on a lot of weight, am hoping second trimester will bring loss of appetite combined with more energy to exercise maybe?!?

BlueIguana · 24/01/2017 09:22

Can they not just fedex you the dress and you can get it fitted in Guernsey Sparkly? Would be way cheaper than a flight to! Sounds hectic - when it was my wedding I bought the dress and had the measurements took in the April on a trip home then didn't see it again till the night before my wedding! All worked out fine :) not sure what my Plan B was :s

That's exciting Kirsty! Not long now!

Welcome Ninja!

Firsttimer- depending on budgets - I like Dessy for bridesmaids dressers - really good quality! And Coast can have some lovely stuff in their sale.

NamelessNinja · 24/01/2017 09:32

Thanks Sparkly I am feeling super tired and intermittently nauseous still but have a week off work and hoping I will then hit the magical 12 week mark and feel better (is it true? Grin!) The MOH sounds like a complete pain!

Kirsty I think I might do the same, ah that's really soon though- very exciting! the days are dragging until mine last week and it feels like it's really late (will be 13 +2). I am the exact opposite- there are very few things I feel like eating- so I seem to just not be eating much.

MrsG280516 · 24/01/2017 09:39

Another one here eating constantly and putting on a lot of weight! I'm hungry almost every hour so am eating little and often.

firsttimer12345 · 24/01/2017 09:42

Thanks blue. Think we will probably go down the coast route. Not a huge budget but I already have a coast dress that the bride loves and they still sell. Unfortunately it's a size 10!!!!!! So gotta keep slim!

Sparklyuggs · 24/01/2017 09:51

lixon my friends with babies have said 4-6 months is the best time for long haul with babies as you have a bit of a routine but aren't mobile; and you can use the bassinet seats on the plane. A toddler is much harder work!

I did have to explain to the bride that I was bringing the baby, I'm hoping to breastfeed so as great as my parents are he's going to need to be with me. Her venue includes babies in the people total so he's bumped another guest down to evening only Blush

TMI26 · 24/01/2017 11:39

Days three of fever feel better than yesterday, the doctor gave me amoxicillin because my fever was so high - never heard of that one before, am feeling really nervous all my pregnancy symptoms have also disappeared, even my breasts have stopped being achy, I'm petrified but need to wait for my scan on Friday :( between the snotty tissues, the fever and body aching I want to cry.
