Gosh, i really must keep up! This thread goes at a rate of knots!. Are any of you struggling with insomnia atm? I saw 1 post but wondered if anyone else was also struggling. I feel like my internal central heating system is on full whack and the knobs broken. So knackered and yet a complete fidget ahggrrrrhhhhh

Sparklyuggs · 20/01/2017 06:14

pancakes oh yes! I either wake at 5am and can't get back to sleep or I wake at 2/3 for a few hours. I try to nap in the day but not always easy.

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 20/01/2017 06:27

Oh good its not just me! Not that its good in any sense doh!. Dh alarm has just gone off so im like a livewire, up on no sleep and not tired atm. I could throttle that alarm.

Lixon · 20/01/2017 08:47

Awful insomnia basically every night here too! Am a zombie at work and have loads of really difficult stuff to do at the moment :/ There's been a few threads on the Facebook group with things to try- audio books, headspace app, reading, moving to a spare bed, snacking, lavender spray etc I'm hoping it disappears in trimester 2!

westy definitely reduce your hours if you can, that's a very long week if your cooking for yourself etc at home. I feel you on the stress of moving house - we're about to start a massive renovation and need to move out in 2 weeks but I'm basically too tired after work to do any packing so not much has happened. i think getting a mover booked will hopefully be a weight off your mind..

I am also a fan of expecting better and if I fancy it will have an occasional drink later on in pregnancy. I usually drink spirits to get drunk though and miss cheese and pate more so am not craving wine in the least so far.. one of my (childless/single) friends recently said she didn't understand drinking - you wouldn't give a baby a glass of wine after all Angry clearly a well researched position! The baby is also not eating my porridge or cheese sandwich..

Heatherbaby · 20/01/2017 09:22

Sleep is my only relief from nausea so I do manage a decent sleep but do wake up stupidly early around 5 and wait for my work alarm!

For all the ladies that love a good documentary on all things babies...whilst off sick from work I watched Katie Piper's Extraordinary Births on channel 4 on demand. Was nice and light hearted and not too intense or graphic like one born!

Hope everyone is well. My scan is a week tomorrow so the nervousness will kick in soon! XGrin

missslw · 20/01/2017 09:26

Hi all

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend!

I've noticed a lot of posts with people suffering with sickness etc just wondering if anyone is having very few symptoms??
I'm 9 + 4 and apart from peeing all the time and being tired haven't really had any other symptoms... starting to worry me slightly...... hoping it's not just me? Hmm

Lixon · 20/01/2017 09:36

Cocochops · 20/01/2017 10:33

Morning all haven't been on here for ages as have mainly been on fb group.

So sorry to all those with recent losses Flowers

Yes to insomnia but mine is more not being able to get to sleep I think my mind starts going into overdrive as I go to sleep ( much to dh delight as he is trying to go to sleep and I am talking through everything on my mind! )

Last pregnancies I did have the odd drink and will do so this time. Looking forward to occasional small glass of red.

Scan is 2 weeks today. Anyone else holding off telling work? Our pay rises etc are announced end of Feb and don't want to say anything until then really ( I know it won't really affect it deep down but just feel better waiting)

Pisghetti · 20/01/2017 11:27

missslw I am having very few symptoms. It was the same with my daughter. I had terrible headaches with her and tiredness but very little nausea. I had 'proper' morning sickness with my son so it was quite unsettling. All was fine though. This time I am peeing every five minutes and I'm permanently exhausted but no sickness again. Those with terrible nausea probably hate us but it is nerve wracking!

Second the recommendations for 'Expecting better'. The author is an economist who draws the actual evidence together across a range of things that pregnant women are told to avoid (caffeine, alcohol, cheese etc) and then leaves it to the reader to make up their own mind. I chose not to drink - I'd feel cheated measuring out a small glass of wine to slowly sip with dinner. I'd rather go without. But I would have a glass of champagne at a wedding or something like that.

missslw · 20/01/2017 11:44

Thanks Pisghetti that is somewhat reassuring! This is my first and everyone (family) keep asking how I am - and I'm fine have been quiet tired and had the occasional head ache too but overall feel pretty much myself! Suppose I was just expecting to feel more "pregnant"!

I'll have the have a look into the Expecting Better as sounds like a good read 😄

Kirstyinnorway · 20/01/2017 13:05

missslw I'm similar to you, I had morning sickness in weeks 5 and 6, but it disappeared and now other than feeling pretty sleepy with GINORMOUS boobs (seriously) I don't feel pregnant at all.

I have a scan in 7 days, because I'm so anxious that it means baby isn't healthy! But actually it's probably fine - the chances are good after 8 weeks and the hundreds of people posting online about their awful symptoms give a skewed perspective, I think - you don't really post if you have no symptoms as it doesn't make for very interesting reading and I don't want to shove it in the faces of people that feel truly dire.

It is a bit difficult if you're worrying and you get the "but you're so lucky" response (ahem, my family) - I know I'm lucky I'm not vomiting, but anxiety over a lack of symptoms can be quite debilitating too.

MochaChocaChino · 20/01/2017 15:22

Unfortunately I'm out too.

I got to 12w yesterday and started spotting. Found out at a scan this morning that I've had a missed miscarriage Sad and it stopped growing 2 weeks ago.

I'm absolutely devastated, and trying to work out whether to let nature take its course or have an op. Luckily I had only told my parents so don't have to broadcast the news.

Anyway, good luck to all you lovely ladies and enjoy your bundles of joy x

ZigAZigAhh · 20/01/2017 16:25

Flowers Mocha - you poor darling. I'm so sorry, what a devastating thing to happen. Be very kind to yourself and I hope you get loads of love and support from your family.

titihood · 20/01/2017 16:38

Hello everyone can I join? According to LMP am due Aug 30 but may have to put myself in another group as according to dating scan am due Sept 4 (but have heard dating scan can be off by +/- 9 days...

Hope you are all feeling well!

titihood · 20/01/2017 16:40

Mocha I just saw your message. I am so sorry to hear your news. Gentle hugs from cyberspace.

Kirstyinnorway · 20/01/2017 16:46

I'm so sorry mocha what truly awful news Flowers

yolkybokey · 20/01/2017 19:02

So sorry Mocha, sending love to everyone experiencing tough times right now.

Symptom-wise, I'm experiencing periods of uncontrollable wretching, not actually throwing up just wretching Confused
It's kind of gross when I'm walking down the street and start doing it...
Nothing helps my nausea except near constant eating. I've been eating far too many cheddar dippers from McDs. Fingers crossed I won't be the size of a house by the second trimester!

firsttimer12345 · 20/01/2017 19:07

Oh Mocha I'm so sorry to hear that FlowersFlowers

11+1 here and still puking. Mostly when I try and be healthy like my mango and kiwi smoothie this morning. Chicken nuggets and chocolate muffins are the only safe foods so will also be the size of a house I think. However, have lost 5lb in the last 11 weeks so no idea how that has happened.

Largemelons · 20/01/2017 19:55

Hi, had my dating scan today and it's a mmc too.
Completely out of the blue as I had an early scan at 8+5 showing everything looking perfect and I've had no bleeding since.
I've opted for the surgery as I don't think I can function just waiting for it to happen. So I'm going in on Tuesday and hopefully that will be it.
Good luck with your babies xx

Kirstyinnorway · 20/01/2017 19:58

There is so much sad news on this thread. I'm so sorry melons, look after yourself. Flowers

Catherinebee85 · 20/01/2017 20:51

I'm 10 weeks today and have my scan on 3rd Feb when I should be 12 weeks.

My appetite is smaller and I managed to lose a few lbs last week. My BMI is 38 although my BP was spot on so I'm determined not to pile on weight.

I've had waves of sickness but no actual throwing up and I've been very particular about what I want (had egg mayo sandwiches for tea two days running for example!) and I'm usually so unfussy with food.

I don't feel pregnant and am so worried that I can't wait for the scan. If there's anything wrong I'd rather be aware.

Not struggling to sleep although I'm exhausted all the time with little motivation for anything. Also having really vivid dreams including one of miscarriage the night before last Sad

missslw · 20/01/2017 20:52

Thoughts with all of you that have had bad news Flowers

firsttimer12345 · 20/01/2017 20:53

Oh no melons! Gosh so sad for everyone at the moment FlowersFlowers

OkyDoke · 20/01/2017 21:09

So sorry mocha and melons. Take care of yourselves. Flowers

hrfvenia · 20/01/2017 21:25

Oh no so sorry for everyone 😔

Really wish everyone had smooth pregnancies but have to know that if anything happens at this point it's natures way of saying baby wasn't ready. Better now than later I suppose.

Hugs for all
