Good Luck Blink! What time is the scan?

ZigAZigAhh · 17/01/2017 13:12

Good luck Blink!

TMI26 · 17/01/2017 14:51

How did it go blink?

Thursday I commute via train into London, not tooooo bad because where I get off I tend to avoid the underground most days-I know some people have it worse but door to door it's around 1.40 so it's sucking the life out of me.

Blink1982 · 17/01/2017 15:36

Phew all alive and well she said measurements were fine too for nuchal test. She did say due dates is 25th July. HOWEVER I know when I had sex and they also said ds was a week earlier than I'd worked him out to be. I just have bigger babies that's all.

firsttimer12345 · 17/01/2017 15:52

Beautiful!!!

ZigAZigAhh · 17/01/2017 16:06

Awwww Blink how lovely! Grin

Fieldandgrasses · 17/01/2017 16:27

Lovely pic!

Largemelons · 17/01/2017 18:08

Ah that's a lovely scan Blink! I'm so sad to hear that lots of our group are having problems, I've been there and it's devastating. Look after yourselves, now I look at my 2 youngest DDs and think they wouldn't be here if I hadn't mc before them. It's shit but you'll get the baby you are meant to have and you'll have no regrets.
My last mc was 2 years ago almost and it's taken me this long to risk going through it again. I'm still completely convinced things will go wrong despite 1 good scan and being 11+3. Dating scan on Friday and I'm terrified and excited in equal measure.
What will be will be I guess!

Alphon5e · 17/01/2017 18:24

Thank you so much for all the good wishes, ladies. Unfortunately it's not good news from me. I went for a scan yesterday at 9 wks after another bleed and the baby was sized at 8wks 6days but had no heartbeat so I'm booked in for surgical management tomorrow morning. It's been a proper rollercoaster but looking forward to feeling more human as I've been feeling really awful this past week. Big big love and hugs to all fellow ladies who have had such sad news and huge best wishes to all the other August lovelies! Hopefully I'll see some of you on future groups in happier times! Xxx

ZigAZigAhh · 17/01/2017 18:37

Oh Alphon5e - that's just heartbreaking, I'm so sorry. Look after yourself Flowers

Fieldandgrasses · 17/01/2017 18:59

So very sorry, Alphon5e. I had surgical management for my MMC and was glad I went that route than natural. Lots of Netflix, Chocolate and a glass of wine while you recover. Shall be thinking of you.

Alphon5e · 17/01/2017 19:05

Thank you ladies! That's put my mind at rest a bit fieldandgrasses thank you lovely. I'm very much looking forward to feeling better xxx

Fieldandgrasses · 17/01/2017 20:03

Good to hear!

TMI26 · 17/01/2017 20:28

Alphon5e sorry to hear, heartbreaking, have faith that what will be will be.

Blink, beautiful - so exciting! I have my dating scan on Friday next week, excited and petrified in equal measure

MustBeThursday · 17/01/2017 21:15

Alphon5e Flowers

TMI I can sympathise! Similar to mine first time round - I was in London too in those days with a door to door between 1:30 and 2:30 (on really bad days), but by buses. I ended up going on leave early as I couldn't manage it with the SPD. I don't suppose that a change in work start/end times would help if it's a train journey? I was in a flexi time office so arranged with the manager so I could miss the rush/worst of the traffic which helped when I was struggling.

Blink ahh lovely!

I've had a headache all day Sad. Is there anything else I can take other than useless paracetamol?

Sparklyuggs · 17/01/2017 21:25

Lovely scan blink

Thursday I find a cold compress works wonders for a headache.

I'm massively hormonal and keep crying at the moment, I feel like a monster so hoping it calms down soon.

MrsG280516 · 17/01/2017 21:25

So sorry to hear that Alphon5e, take care of yourself Flowers

IntoTheWoods84 · 17/01/2017 21:37

Thinking of you Alphon5e and everyone else having a tough time this week. Flowers Flowers

I had my 12 week scan yesterday - all is well. I was so nervous since I'm on citalopram and had a super high temp and lost a lot of weight when I had flu over Xmas but very relieved now.

Still doesn't feel real even though I've seen the little person flipping around inside me!

Good luck to everyone wth scans this week!

Watermelon2016 · 17/01/2017 22:07

So sorry to hear this Alphon5e. Sending you much love. I was in your shoes in June; please shout if you have any questions at all on the procedure or recovery. Surrounded yourself with love and tlc and take each day as it comes. X

Kirstyinnorway · 18/01/2017 06:55

I'm so sorry to hear that Alphon5e, I'm in awe of your positive attitude and sending you luck and best wishes that you'll be on another of these antenatal boards again when you feel ready Flowers

I'm 8+3 today (I must be one of the least-far-along here?), time is crawling and I just want a scan to make sure everything is Ok. The absolute earliest I can get a private one here is 12 weeks (standard is 18), so I've got another 3 and a half weeks to wait. It's tortuous.

We have electrics work going on in our house at the moment and no electricity for the next 4 days. Can't do my work so I get to read by candlelight and then just potter round the house when daylight comes. It's all very relaxing!

Timefor2 · 18/01/2017 06:56

So sorry Alphon5e, how unfair Flowers

Lapin387 · 18/01/2017 08:10

What are you ladies doing about bras? I'm usually a 30C but finding my bras quite tight especially towards the end of the day. Only 9+2 (and suspect this will be put back at the dating scan)though so not sure about putting lots of money into new ones just yet, especially before 12 week scan. I've read that underwiring can interfere with breast development but have never had a non wired bra so a little wary of them.

Good luck to all those having scans this week! And to those who have already had bad news please take care of yourselves.

TMI26 · 18/01/2017 08:13

Thursday there are two journeys I can take the fast one which saves around 15-20 minutes leaves me without a seat most day so I take the slower journey which means I get to sit down so cannot complain too much I suppose, I'm waiting until the 12 week scan and I think I will begin working from home 2 days a week, don't want to do it just yet as I've just told my team they need to be in a minimum of four days a week so feel a bit of a hypocrite if I don't follow the same principle

Sparkly don't worry I'm the same was sick yesterday night followed by an onslaught of tears, it was so ridiculous my husband couldn't help but laughing I keep thinking I'm feeling better then just crash again I'm not 10 6 today but am convinced my dating scan will tell me I'm a week behind, anxiously waiting for the 12 week milestone

firsttimer12345 · 18/01/2017 08:39

So sorry Alphon5e Flowers

Lapin bra wise I'm really struggling. Was already a 30H and struggling to find anything in my budget. In desperation bought some 34GG in the m&s sale but the band is massive on me so they aren't very supportive.

Heatherbaby · 18/01/2017 09:39

Aww blink what a scan pic!

I can't imagine doing a commute of 1hr 30 or more! Mine is 20 mins to half hour by car and even that makes me feel so nauseous at the moment!

On that topic...I don't know if my sickness is normal, or worse than average or whether I am being a big baby. I feel nauseous most the day, definitely throw up once in the morning and either fight the urge for the rest of the day with water or mints and food or throw up 2 or 3 times more.

I've had a few days off from work from the past few weeks including today because when I'm not being sick I just can't concentrate on working anyway. Is this normal? At the moment I've done very little obsessing over becoming a mum and the baby cos I mainly focus on how sick I am and how I never want to do this againBlush

Re bras, my usual ones still fit at the moment just a bit more squished than usual... just don't want to succumb to maternity bras just yet! I went in to mothercare to buy a gift and had a quick browse at their maternity bras... although they aren't all as ugly as I'd assumed the sizes were very limited so not sure who has the best range? I am usually a 32E or 34DD so I can't even imagine what state pregnancy is going to leave my boobs in!
