TMI26 · 16/01/2017 10:12

Clara and pancakes - very sorry to hear, what an awful week xx

swimchick1980 · 16/01/2017 10:13

Thanks everyone. Flowers to polly, pancakes and claire and anyone else having a rough time. Hope for everyone else that your midwife appointments and scans go well and you go onto have amazing healthy babies. Hopefully I'll see the ones who weren't so lucky on another and ante natal thread soon xx

ZigAZigAhh · 16/01/2017 11:34

Oh god polly and pancakes - what sad news. What an awful time for our little group at the moment Sad. Flowers and my best thoughts to all.

Sparklyuggs · 16/01/2017 12:53

Had my 12 week scan and all looks good, so we've started to tell people which is nice Smile unfortunately my morning sickness came back last night so having a sofa day as not really up for doing much else. Official due date is 28.7.17

Hope you are all ok and taking care of yourselves.

TMI26 · 16/01/2017 13:14

Sparkly that's exciting! Working from home myself today just feelngreally rough, I'm thinking of telling work as I have a super long commute and last week was just too much, it's before I would have liked to, my scan is in two weeks...so want to get the all clear before we share with everyone-so nervous I hope it will all be okay :(

On other news I found out last week my sister is also pregnant, 3/4 weeks behind me, so a lot of hormones around the family!

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 16/01/2017 14:21

UPDATE!! so am back at home and in bed with a still wriggly baby inside me! Ive had what is called a subchoroinic(sp?) Haemmorage. Its large and my cervix is slightly open. But if we can get to 22weeks then it looks positive although they wernt sure on if ill get there.

BlueIguana · 16/01/2017 15:02

So sorry Polly Flowers Take good care Pancakes - but that sounds positive!! Stay well rested and keeping fingers crossed for you!!

MustBeThursday · 16/01/2017 15:12

Flowers to everyone who has had sad news.

Sparkly Congratulations!
Pancakes Wow! Sending lots of positive thought your way.
TMI I had to tell my manager at about 9 weeks with my first pregnancy purely because of their sickness/medical policies, I wouldn't have been able to go to my appointments! They have to keep it confidential so if you do tell your manager no one else needs to know. Sorry you're struggling with the commute, is it public transport?

I've a scan date now, 6th Feb, so another 3 weeks to go.

cadihaf · 16/01/2017 15:14

I've got a scan date as well - 7th Feb!

I've had to tell some people at work because I can't hide feeling so ill.

I wish I could stop worrying about everything baby related, which is out of my control.

ZigAZigAhh · 16/01/2017 15:19

MustBe - we're scan date twins! Still seems like years away...

Pancakes - wow, what a roller coaster!! A very positive development and sending you all my best wishes.

firsttimer12345 · 16/01/2017 15:19

So sorry to hear about all the bad news over the weekend. Sending you all lots of FlowersFlowers

I've had to tell quite a few people now. I'm self employed/freelance and was really struggling to come up with answers as to why I wouldn't be available July/August time for work...

TMI26 · 16/01/2017 15:33

Pancakes - best of luck, do take good care of yourself, my scan date is the 27th...does anyone else feel as though they just stopped caring about work? I have a huge project to deliver and a team to run but to honest, my care levels are nonexistent 😵😵😵😵😵😵

MustBeThursday · 16/01/2017 18:33

Actually, saying I told work at 9 weeks with my first pregnancy, I actually told my manager about this one on Friday - my counterpart who does the other 3 days to my 2 is retiring later this year and she wanted to know if I wanted to pick up any extra days. She was really nice about it, especially as I only started there in September and she's now going to have to find someone to replace me for a bit too...

Zig high five scan date twin! 3 weeks away though - yes, seems an absolute age doesn't it. I could have had one on the 30th but DH wants to come too and he has an important meeting that day Hmm

Cadihaf sorry to hear that worries are taking over a bit. I know it's no help to say try not to worry, but if it's really starting to get you down maybe you could try some anti-anxiety techniques?

hrfvenia · 16/01/2017 20:31

So sorry for everybody's sad news, hopefully you have lots of support around you all including everybody here ❤️

I asked this in the fb group but other than belli skincare, can anyone offer advice on what skincare for really bad skin that's safe to use during pregnancy? I'm going to try simple as there's no sulphites or pthlalates (or however you spell that) but I have a feeling it won't make half a difference in the bloody mountain ranges that have appeared overnight. The annoying thing is it's not real spots with a head, it's angry red bumps that last for days or small bumps under the skin that last for weeks. I'm getting so frustrated!!

ZigAZigAhh · 16/01/2017 22:41

Fuck fuck fuck - may need a bit of a handhold.

I've just realised that for the last 1-2 weeks I've been taking double doses of my pregnancy vitamin (Pregnacare). I have been having the breastfeeding ones for months and months and months (two pink, one yellow) and then switched to Pregnacare Plus and idiot me didn't read the packet and assumed it was the same in terms of doses (two pink, one yellow) when in fact it should be one pink, one yellow. I am now of course convinced that I have horrendously harmed the baby and am feeling like the shittest mother in the world as a result. I can't even do anything about it (other than take the correct bloody dose!) as any damage will already be done. Fuck.

I missed a couple of nights this week due to being busy and distracted with friends but doubt that's enough to cancel anything out.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 16/01/2017 22:46

Zig I know it's easy for me to say but I'd try not to worry. The main vitamin linked to birth defects is vitamin a. There is no vitamin a in pregnacare or any other pregnancy multivitamin, for this exact reason. It's very unlikely that the tablets you've taken will cause any problem at all.

If you're really worried you can talk to your midwife or OB (if you have one) but please don't worry too much. Just take the right dose from now on and try to relax.

ScottishLady7 · 16/01/2017 23:56

Please don't stress zig your body tends only to absorb what it needs so anything extra will probably just have passed straight through. The main damage will most likely be to your purse- these vitamins ain't cheap!!

BlueIguana · 17/01/2017 00:18

Hey Zig - as Scottish said - I've been told the same by Dr in the past - your body just passes out any extra vits that it doesn't need! I wouldn't worry at all as everything in pregnacare will be safe to take!

ZigAZigAhh · 17/01/2017 07:52

Thank you so much for your reassuring words Socially, Scottish and Blue - I'm feeling a lot better about things this morning (although definitely still feel like an idiot!)

I also feel a bit silly about the drama queen nature of my post when others are going through such worrying times so my apologies for that.

TMI26 · 17/01/2017 09:25

Dumb question - but t what if is the yellow pill?

I'm so tired...being on trimester 2!

ZigAZigAhh · 17/01/2017 09:55

TMI - the yellow pill is the omega 3 one (more like a clear yellow capsule). I don't know if they are in all the (many!) types of prenatal vitamins (which I'm sure all do exactly the same thing). It's all a bit Matrix-like Grin

Blink1982 · 17/01/2017 09:59

Scan day. Shitting bricks.

Fieldandgrasses · 17/01/2017 10:33

Good luck, Blink!
