Alphon5e I think all pregnant women should be excused when it comes to tax returns. Have managed a few hours on mine today in between snacking and dozing...

Sparkly I had read about the harmony tests but didn't realise they did gender too! How wonderful for you Smile

Waterfeature · 13/01/2017 17:19

Hello all, I've just found this board!

I'm 8 weeks today, due 25 Aug.

Am a bit anxious because I had a MC 18 months ago. Didn't TTC straightaway but it took a few months to happen once we did. Also, am ancient (44) so aware it's probably our last chance. I do have older DC so I'm trying to keep things in perspective.

Booking in appointment today. Ironically I'm now lying in bed with period type pain. Desperately hoping it's nothing to worry about.

88claire · 13/01/2017 17:59

Dreadful Friday 13th for me... Woke up at 2am with cramps and pain. Managed to get back to sleep and then found brown discharge this morning so I called the early pregnancy unit who sent me to A&E.

To cut the long story short they scanned and couldn't see anything which is a pregnancy of unknown location. It's either miscarrying, too early or ectopic. They've done bloods which I'm having repeated on Sunday.

Feeling really miserable now and don't know what to think. I'm now waiting my blood test results for my HCG level. Praying it was just too early to see anything!

Alphon5e · 13/01/2017 18:23

Oh 88claire you poor thing! That sounds awful for you. How far along are you? It could well be too early to tell. I had a very similar nightmare with a lot of bright red blood over Christmas which was just horrendous so I know it's the hardest thing. Especially being in limbo having to wait to find out what is actually going on. Just try and go easy on yourself (I know it's almost completely impossible to switch your brain off!) I got through Xmas with trifle and box sets but it wasn't easy at all. Lots of hugs to you lovely. I'll be thinking of you and keeping fingers firmly crossed! Xxx

Waterfeature · 13/01/2017 19:32

I had bleeding in my 3rd pregnancy and then my HCG levels didn't rise as quickly as expected. She's 12 now.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 13/01/2017 19:38

I'm so sorry Claire.Flowers I hope it's better news at the next scan.

88claire · 13/01/2017 19:57

Thanks everyone. The hospital just phoned and said they thought there was a tiny speck on the ultrasound and that my HCG is 185. I asked if it was a bad thing and the lady said not necessarily... So will see what my repeat says on Sunday. Everything could be absolutely fine as I'm not sure about dates.... Urghhhh it's so stressful!

Watermelon2016 · 13/01/2017 20:22

What an anxious wait for you Claire. Will be thinking of you. Flowers

Fieldandgrasses · 13/01/2017 22:15

Will be thinking of you, Claire. Keep us posted?

88claire · 13/01/2017 22:38

Thanks again everyone. I'll keep you posted.

Trying to see a positive side and if this wasn't meant to be we have a holiday to Mexico booked in June (we couldn't have gone if I'm pregnant due to zika virus) so that will hopefully be the point to start trying (properly) again. I'm trying to prepare for the worst then if all is OK it will be a bonus.

I also thought I couldn't conceive naturally so this happened the first month of trying! That's another positive I suppose.

Now trying to get through the next day and a half!

Brainfried1986 · 14/01/2017 08:50

Hiya, I'm a bit worried this morning. When I went to the loo there was a bit of blood just inside my vg - brighter red than the spotting so far.
Worrying for the obvious reasons, but moreso because I'm flying to Germany for work this evening. So should I get in touch with out of hours medical staff now to find out if there's a problem/act while I still have a chance, or should I just let it be & go ahead with my trip but take supplies in case of mc?
I've got my EHIC & travel insurance, so if I had to go to a German hospital it would be covered. I'm just not sure what to do Confused

ScottishLady7 · 14/01/2017 09:40

I would call the epu brainfried or your midwife and explain. See what they advise. You'll worry all day of you don't! I hope everything is ok.

88claire · 14/01/2017 10:29

So the pain and bleeding has stopped now.

I'm really hoping that as my cycles are so irregular that I conceived later than I thought and it was just too small to see.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow's bloods.

TMI26 · 14/01/2017 14:03

Thinking of all you ladies with your scares....hopefully things will get better for you soon Flowers

Dixiechick1991 · 14/01/2017 18:01

So I haven't been on for a while as I've Been a massive worrier. Been having some pale brown spotting, I wore a panty liner and it was about as tiny but obviously I noticed it.
According to my LMP I would have been 8+1 today but I went to a private early scan today and was told I'm only 5-6 weeks but she could see the flicker of a heartbeat and told us to come back next weekend for a rescan. So that would mean I was only 2 weeks pregnant when I got my very positive heavily diluted urine pregnancy tests. And I've been feeling nauseous/frequent urination/ bloating & burping for 3-4 weeks.
Slightly concerned but I suppose I've just got to get through it.

swimchick1980 · 14/01/2017 18:19

Sounds like everyone is going through the mill. Things not great here either I'm afraid. Had light red bleeding this morning and just been to the loo and now much heavier with clots. Preparing for the worst. DH at work and I'm only just managing to hold it together at home. Not sure if I can contact anyone on a Saturday night or whether I just have to wait until Monday morning....

firsttimer12345 · 14/01/2017 18:25

So sorry you all are having a tough time. Dixie we've had 2 scans now, the first similar to yours, measuring 6 weeks when we thought 7.
When we went back a fortnight later the baby was huge and was measuring 9+1 so bang on what we thought.
Sending everyone lots of FlowersFlowers

Sparklyuggs · 14/01/2017 18:56

Sending lots of love and good thoughts to all of you in difficult situations. Hope you all are ok and have lots of support Flowers

Fieldandgrasses · 14/01/2017 19:27

So sorry to those having a rough time.

swimchick1980 · 14/01/2017 19:39

Anyone got any good film/TV recommendations to get me through the night until DH comes home? Did anyone wath Tina and Bobby - any good? Hugs and Flowers to everyone, whether you're having a rough time or not xx

TMI26 · 14/01/2017 20:42

The kite runner is one of my all time favs ....hope everyone gets through these few fees any consolation and mybsis Et spotted a lot during her first pregnancy and now she has an 18month old, she was told to avoid dtd for the first few months though!

Timefor2 · 14/01/2017 20:45

Swimchick, Dixie, Brainfried and Claire, so sorry to hear you are all having a tough time of it. I really hope these are just scares and you get good news to reassure you soon at scans and check ups. Flowers Did you manage to see anyone today Brainfried?

Alphon5e you have been through it too but glad to hear that despite such worrying symptoms (and over Christmas) all is looking good.

I think I'm 10+5. This is my second and I thought yesterday I felt movements. Google says that is unlikely and probably wind! But who knows.

I dug out my maternity clothes from last time and forgot I had some really lovely things! I'm so bloated (definitely bloat/post-Christmas fat rather than bump as is squishy!!!) so can not wait until after the scan and nuchal results to be able to announce to people and then be able to wear maternity clothes - showing off rather than hiding my tum. I only have about three tops and a handful of work dresses that I can wear without looking obviously pregnant...

Best of luck everyone, this first trimester is so stressful. Let's hope the next few weeks pass quickly.

MrsG280516 · 14/01/2017 20:53

Hope things turn out okay for everyone going through a tough time. Maybe you just have cute little beans that haven't had their growth spurt yet.

Lixon · 14/01/2017 21:02

I'm so sorry that so many of you are going through such stressful times.

swimchick really feeling for you and I hope you managed to find something distracting. If you have Netflix making amurderer is really addictive. I would call 111/head to a&e in the morning to see if you can get things checked out - bleeding is terrifying but not always bad news. Keeping everything crossed.

Claire thinking of you and really hoping the blood test results tomorrow are good news.

Dixie a few of on the Facebook group have been put back by 1-2 weeks and it's great news they saw a heartbeat, I hope the wait until next weekend isn't too stressful and that the next scan shows a slightly bigger bean.

brainfried I hope you made it to Germany safely and that the bleeding has stopped. Did you manage to speak to anyone today?

Alphon5e sounds like you had a horrid few weeks you poor thing but lovely to hear your news and hopefully a sign of good things for the other ladies.

Blink1982 · 14/01/2017 21:21

Wow I've not been on here for a while, I've been on the old facebook mainly. I'm sorry a lot of you are having a rough time. Pregnancy really is a stressful time isnt it. None of this carefreeness you see pictured on adverts and things. One thing I have noticed though is a lot of the ladies who have noticed bleeding tend to be totally fine.... despite the bleeding remaining unexplained.

So according to ovia I'm 11 wks 4 days. The nausea has definitely become less awful I can now eat slimmingworld stuff again. Although I'm partial to milkshakes and I've found that fizzy vimto helps with nausea too.

Scan on Tuesday and I'm shitting it to be honest. I hate the idea of going in and finding somethings wrong.
