Updated the Fb group yesterday but had my Harmony test (NIPT) results back for Downs, Edwards and Patsy and all very low risk. Also found out it's a boy and yesterday was so amazing, just kept grinning to myself about him. Grin

Got my 12w scan on Monday so all being well will announce to our friends and family on 'blue' Monday, hopefully it should be a nice piece of news on a grey January day.

It's my Dad's 60th tomorrow so have wrapped up a little blue outfit as a gift as my way of telling him. Smile

Sorry to those that feel rough, I definitely started to feel better around 10w but prior to that was constant nausea, vomiting and tiredness. Hope you all feel better soon.

missslw · 12/01/2017 07:42

Thanks Blue Smile

missslw · 12/01/2017 07:43

What's the FB group sparkly?

WantingBaby1 · 12/01/2017 07:43

Hi ladies.

Just checking in to say hello. No real news here, 10+3 today and waiting for my 12 week scan in 13 days time.

Welcome newbies!

Sorry to hear some of you are anxious. Hard not to be. I found a private scan helped lots. We saw a heartbeat and a tiny little bean in its sac at 7+1.

Work has been hectic but I went for that job interview after all. Waiting to hear. There's another position come up now, that would be ideal for me, but they're not interviewing until March, by which point I'll be 18+ weeks. I think I'll have to tell work by then. I'm so bloated I feel I'm already showing and 10 weeks. Is anyone the same? When did you start showing?

Sparklyuggs · 12/01/2017 10:03

misslw there's a secret group on Facebook that SociallyAcceptable set up, if you PM me your email address I can add you. Completely optional obviously, I know some people prefer to be anonymous but the group is completely secret do no one on FB can see it Smile

ScottishLady7 · 12/01/2017 10:22

I've sent you a pm to be added to the group please sparklyuggs!
Thanks :)

missslw · 12/01/2017 10:32

Thanks Sparkly Smile not sure how I PM you though?! Hmm

MrsG280516 · 12/01/2017 14:38

6 days till my booking appointment now, can't wait to get a scan date to see little bean again. Then we should only have to wait another 4 weeks maximum to see them again for a private gender scan. So excited!

TMI26 · 12/01/2017 15:35

I had my booking in appointment on Saturday but only just went to get my bloods done because the midwife could not get to my veins, to small apparently - they took a lot of blood, it stopped coming out at one point! Feeling rather faint after all that....still no scan date :(

missslw · 12/01/2017 17:15

Thanks Sparkly got your PM!

Just back from my booking in appointment- bloods done, sample given, bp, weight and height taken....

They had booked me in for my scan on the 2nd Feb which is the only date I told them I Couldn't do! Now have the wait till 16th Feb - it's going to go slow Hmm

Looks like I'm 8+3 today Smile

yolkybokey · 12/01/2017 18:13

I'm the 16th of Feb too missslw- it feels like an age away right now....

Is anyone else suffering with really bad bloating and wind?? It's been so painful today and it's all I can do to not fart constantly at work Blush

Stinkbaby · 12/01/2017 18:14

I'm so jealous, I still have a week and a half till I can see the midwife! She might want to get me a scan pronto though because I should be about 11 weeks then 😦
Is everyone else calendar watching? lol

Stinkbaby · 12/01/2017 18:16

lol yolkybokey!!

missslw · 12/01/2017 18:33

Ah great stuff Yolkey when is your due date?

Yes I feel your pain with wind and bloating I've been the same! No sickness or anything yet just bloating and lots of peeing for me Hmm

firsttimer12345 · 12/01/2017 19:38

Yes my DH is disgusted by the amount of farting going on in our house at the moment. The cats seem to be at it too and they stink!!

Got our scan 2 weeks today, feels like it's going to drag...

Sparkly how did you find out the gender so early?! So exciting!!

yolkybokey · 12/01/2017 20:41

missslw I'm not sure of my due date exactly, I'm guessing 26th August-ish?

firsttimer I wish I had cats to blame my farting on Wink DH knows I'm responsible...

thenorthernluce · 12/01/2017 21:08

I had my booking appointment today (I'm 10+3). The usual questions asked, the usual tests done, and she took four vials of blood. My risk was assessed as low, but she's worried about my mental health due to stress and anxiety, so she's referred me to the mental health team. I came off Sertraline, an SSRI, when I found out I was pregnant, which was my decision, but damn am I missing it! I'm going to speak to my GP tomorrow and ask whether it's safe to go back on once the first trimester is over, as I'm just not coping at the moment.

So, overall, a good appointment, but it brought up some sobering issues. I may have sobbed when I got home...!

My scan is in two weeks. Fingers crossed all will be well x

Sparklyuggs · 12/01/2017 23:08

firsttimer I had the harmony test done, a brand of Non Invasive Prenatal Test. It looks for the same things as the NT scan but is more accurate, albeit not a diagnosis, just a risk score. They can also tell the gender if you want. It can be done from 10w, I had bloods taken at 10+5 and got my results 4 working days after. You have to go privately in the UK (some trusts offer it if you are high risk of if your NT scan indicates a risk) and it costs around the £400 which is a lot but it's definitely eased my anxiety to know that the baby is low risk.

swimchick1980 · 13/01/2017 06:56

The farting.....yes! I spend my whole day at work trying not to. I tried one day to release the pressure a little bit, I won't make that mistake again Shock

kezmarie · 13/01/2017 07:29

Hi ladies!
Just checking in - haven't posted here for a while!!
I'm 11+2 now, have my booking in appointment on the 16th and my scan on the 24th which will make me 12+6!
Can't wait for the scan now to see the little bab again. Last seen at 7+0 where it was just a blob & a sac 😊

Feeling ok now to be honest, the nausea & sickness seems to have subsided, im sort of eating properly again, but my face is covered in spots, hair gets greasy so fast, I have a very hairy belly and I think I'm getting a bump!!

Happy Friday 13th all x

Kirstyinnorway · 13/01/2017 08:34

I can't believe I'm typing this, but... I pooped! Grin Oh the relief, I've been wondering where all that food has been going for the last 4 or 5 days. Constipation is such a bitch. I've had such terrible stomachache and cramps (not the lady kind!) and I'm sure it's been making my mood worse. Anyway, hopefully I'll be much more comfortable today!

Seem to have got a handle on the negative thoughts now. Told PIL about bean, they were very happy (although neither of us truly trust MIL to keep it to herself).

Going for a walk in the snow today Smile

Hope everyone is doing Ok?

Glad you're feeling more human kez!

TMI26 · 13/01/2017 10:00

I just want to sleep and be a slob for the next month. Why isn't there a law about having a week off in the first trimester?

Alphon5e · 13/01/2017 12:49

Hello again everyone!

Sorry for the long post! Just wanted to tell you all about my little New Year 'miracle' which fingers crossed will carry on hanging on in there...
I last posted before Christmas when I was 5 weeks pregnant, went home to my folks for the whole Christmas and new year but started bleeding quite heavily and bright red on Christmas day evening which was horrendous as you'd expect. We rang 111 as I had no idea what to do and obviously nothing is open over Xmas and when I eventually got a call back from a doctor at half 2 in the morning, he said it very much sounded like a miscarriage and there was nothing I could do apart from rest and take painkillers etc. The bleeding then stopped Boxing day and I had a massive family do to sit through and pretend everything was normal. Fun times! It started again a bit in the evening and then carried on throughout the week leading up to New Years and I kept reading about how long miscarriages could go on for etc and worrying because I was getting this pain on and off mostly on my left side down low on my belly and thinking maybe I had an ectopic pregnancy or I hadn't completely miscarried, just worrying constantly as you do..

We finally got back home to Sheffield from down south on New Year's day and I was still feeling rough and this pain was still really bothering me. I had another bright red bleed on the Monday so we eventually went to the doctor's about it. He pressed on my stomach and made me shout out in pain and I did a pregnancy test which came back positive still so he was sufficiently concerned to refer me to the epu for an early scan that evening to see if I did have an ectopic pregnancy going on.

I was trying to tough it out at the scan as we were pretty certain it was either ectopic or retained miscarriage and I didn't want to cry anymore in front of all the nurses (who were absolutely lovely btw).

My womb was apparently at a funny angle so it took ages to get it on the screen but when it was, she turned the screen to me and said there's your baby!! All ok as far as they can tell, with a heartbeat and everything!! And spot on for the dates we thought!! So I'm delighted to say I'm 8wks +4 days pregnant, due on the 21/8/17 (my bloke's birthday).

Kirsty and Stinks (not sure how to tag sorry!) I just wanted to say I know how you feel and it is horrid isn't it. I'm still spotting which is mostly brown or pinkish (tmi..), but the epu and midwife both have said it's normal for some women. I just need to ring them if I get another bright red one. I'm constantly checking and worrying and can't wait to get to 12 weeks for a little bit of reassurance.

The pain turned out to be wind!! (Classy!) As my body has decided to give me IBS symptoms instead of morning sickness which is great fun (but better than an ectopic pregnancy!)

Right I'll shut up now! 😉 I'm just desperate to tell everyone but also don't want to because I feel like it might all go wrong again any second now... 😔

TMI26 · 13/01/2017 13:42

Alphonse that's lovely to hear, a true little miracle, must of been a horrid few weeks for you, hopefully things will only get better from here on out.

Alphon5e · 13/01/2017 14:07

Thank you TMI I'm a bit all over the place really at the moment to tell you the truth, but yes just waiting for the 12 week scan with gritted teeth!! (Well actually, am mainly snoozing and eating crumpets instead of doing my tax return - ugh!! - totally with you on the snooze front. I think work in the 1st trimester should be totally optional!!) 😉
