I haven't been here for ages but had first scan today (9 weeks yesterday) and baby is measuring small and no heartbeat detected :( I have to go back next week for another scan but am suspecting MMC at the moment :(

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/01/2017 12:56

I'm so sorry Polly. Flowers Fingers crossed that you'll get better news at the next scan. It must be so stressful to wait.

88claire · 07/01/2017 13:30

The GP called and got me in at 11am when there was a cancellation! They've redeemed themselves slightly. Anyway ive been referred to the hospital I work at and will be sent for a dating scan.

Phew!

88claire · 07/01/2017 13:30

Sorry to hear that Polly Flowers

Stinkbaby · 07/01/2017 18:26

rosel27 · 07/01/2017 19:12

So so sorry Polly. I really hope there's better news for you Flowers

TMI26 · 07/01/2017 20:38

Sorry to hear that polly 💐 Are there any chances or is this the final word?

PollyCazaletWannabe · 07/01/2017 20:40

It's hard to tell really as I live in China and I don't have as much confidence in the system (see my other thread in Pregnancy for details if you're interested) but the doctor didn't seem very hopeful :(

TMI26 · 07/01/2017 20:41

Socially great to hear of scan, at least it's reassurance, I had my booking in appointment today midwife was lovely - she couldnt do my bloods, apparently I have small veins, which means I needs to go back next week

Watermelon2016 · 07/01/2017 22:59

Oh Polly; what a difficult time for you. Sending love. Flowers

thenorthernluce · 07/01/2017 23:07

lucylou1234 · 08/01/2017 15:03

sorry i meant 29/08 !

Rocco87 · 08/01/2017 16:32

Sorry to hear that polly. It's so hard when you're living abroad to be sure you're getting the right info isn't it. Sending hope your way...

Rocco87 · 08/01/2017 16:34

I'm currently stuck in bed with tonsillitis Sad Been this way for 4 days with no sign of getting better. And I know that little bean is taking all of the goodness I eat (rightly so) which will mean recovering will take even longer!
I'm moving back to the uk in two weeks when I'll be 9 weeks. Do you think I should phone ahead to try to get a midwife app booked in?

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 08/01/2017 16:42

Rocco I hope you feel better soon! It's much harder to get over things when your pregnant so get lots of rest and fluids. It wouldn't hurt to try to get things moving with midwives as soon as possible. If they don't want to register you now they can at least tell you what the process is so you can do it asap when you arrive in the uk.

Rocco87 · 08/01/2017 17:22

Thanks sociallyacceptablecookie that's useful advice. I really never knew the first trimester was so hard. How people have been pregnant around me in the past without me guessing I'll never know! Hats off to all of you who already have DCs

Heatherbaby · 08/01/2017 17:53

rocco sorry to hear you are unwell. I totally agree I didn't know how hard the first tri is and have no idea have other women can a) keep the pregnancy a secret and b) do it whilst they have other dc!

I keep saying never again and everyone says you won't remember all this once the little one is here!

My symptoms aren't even the worst compared to some. I have nausea most the day and sickness as soon as my stomach feels remotely empty.

I read that your immune system is weakened to allow your body to accept the baby which is why it's harder to shake the bugs or illnesses you may pick up. Multi vitamins and fruit helped me overcome a recent dreadful cold. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyone else is well. polly very sorry to hear of the sad news and am maintaining a bit of hope until you say otherwise Flowers
