Thanks Lixon! Sorry you've been through two miscarriages, of course you must be so anxious. I flip wildly between being excited and trying to be pragmatic, but it's difficult.

The baking was a disaster, but I was offered the job! Flattering, but I ended up having to turn it down as they had conveniently forgotten to mention the work was 100% night shift - spoke about it with DH and decided that the impact on our lives (even weekends, with my body being in night mode!) just wasn't worth it - we don't need the extra wage that much. I still have a small business that I run from home that keeps some pennies ticking in. Will just keep looking!

Is anyone else waking up with what feels like extreme butterflies in the morning?

It's so strange... I feel like I'm about to sit an exam. Perhaps I'm just anxious? As soon as I'm up and moving, I'm fine. I don't know if it's some weird form of morning sickness?!

BellyBean · 06/01/2017 10:17

Woohoo my nausea and vomiting have massively reduced the last couple of days. I'm not back to normal by any stretch but actually had the energy to buy some groceries yesterday! And I'm reducing the tablets I'm taking for the sickness. I can see light at the end of the tunnel! (Due 6 Aug).

Hopefully will be the same for some of you ladies soon if you're due early Aug.

Sparklyuggs · 06/01/2017 11:18

clara that does sound tricky, but it isn't your fault. I admit I was a bit jealous that my SIL got married and pregnant in 6 weeks (whirlwind romance) I was desperate for us to TTC but I got over it quickly and was excited for my nephew. Maybe choose an empire line dress which doesn't scream baby bump, and just keep deflecting it in the day 'oh yes so excited for the baby. Doesn't SIL/the venue/the flowers look wonderful?' Im sure she will notice far less than she thinks she will on the day.

Kirsty congrats on being offered the job, always flattering!

Bellybean that's positive! I definitely started to feel better around 10w and I no longer need to take cyclizine and can do a few hours work each day.

I'm feeling rubbish today, in part I think because I slept badly so it's a sofa day for me. I'm also getting backache also it seems early to have it.

Timefor2 · 06/01/2017 14:44

I've been absent for a while with Christmas and life getting in the way but have read through the 12 pages on thread 2 (!) and so feel back up to date. So sorry that there have been some losses and I feel for those of you with bad sickness. I've been very lucky this time with no sickness, just tiredness but that seems better this week too.

Had an early scan last week and was delighted to see a lively baby with strong heartbeat and matching up with my dates. Lack of sickness and general anxiety meant I had bad feelings. I'm about 9.4 at the moment I think and scan will be about 12.3 - bring that on!

Restructure in my team is imminent at work. At the moment I'm keeping my news under wraps but some of the roles in the new structure wouldn't suit me when returning from mat leave (lots of international travel), so I may need to tell work before my 12wk scan after all. Finding that all quite stressful.

In other news I have a serious belly, particularly by the end of the day. An a free bar work function next week. So l reckon colleagues are going to guess anyway!

Timefor2 · 06/01/2017 14:45

Clara that sounds quite tricky but as you say if you don't let relatives get too OTT in front of her then I think that's all you can really do

cadihaf · 06/01/2017 18:35

I'm feeling a tiny bit better nausea-wise today. I think it's down to a combination of new anti sickness wristbands and a good night sleep last night.

Got my booking in appt 23/1 when l'll be 10+2. Do they usually arrange a scan date at that appt?

Rocco87 · 06/01/2017 18:51

Hey ladies, been lurking for a while but finally thought I say hi. I'm 6+6, due Aug 26th. Currently living in Morocco which I can assure you is not the place to be pregnant...think rancid smells, food you can't stomach and language barriers with doctors! Thankfully I'm moving home in 2 weeks and it can't come soon enough. DH will move home shortly after as we've both been working out here. Had an early scan out here and saw/ heard a heartbeat which was really reassuring. Currently in bed as I have the worst virus /bug to accompany my nausea. Feeling pretty sorry for myself as you can tell! Anyway, I look forward to sharing this amazing journey with you all x

Stinkbaby · 06/01/2017 19:57

Anyone else keep going to throw up and letting out a massive burp instead?

Stinkbaby · 06/01/2017 19:58

Hi Rocco! Smile

cadihaf · 06/01/2017 20:19

@stinkbaby - me! Aren't we delightful?!

firsttimer12345 · 06/01/2017 20:40

Been to see our baby again today as it was so tiny last time the scan place let us come back for free. Anyone in the north west, can't recommend them enough. They are called my baby scan and in Widnes.

Almost looks like a baby now! Measuring 9 weeks bang on.

Largemelons · 06/01/2017 20:45

Ahh lovely bean first timer!

TeamLentil · 06/01/2017 20:58

cadihaf my scan appointment was separate from my booking appointment. They both happened once I self referred to my chosen hospital.

TeamLentil · 06/01/2017 20:59

(I mean they were both booked - I haven't been to either yet)

cadihaf · 06/01/2017 21:09

Thanks TeamLentil. I've only got my booking in appointment, no one's mentioned a scan yet but I'll be over 10 weeks by then

MulderitsmeX · 06/01/2017 21:14

@dixiechick1991 I'm the same as you, feel tired but no other Symptoms, I've looked into it and it seems like we are hopefully just lucky with no sickness etc. It's weird because if I hadn't done the tests I wouldn't believe I was pregnant!

Haven't told my parents yet as don't want to get their hopes up. Scan and midwife appointment at thr end of the month although thinking of the harmony scan which I would need to to soon.

Ps could someone add me to the secret Fb group please? Thanks!

ScottishLady7 · 06/01/2017 22:59

Nice evening tonight- we had a private viability scan (for my anxiety, not for any other worrying reasons) and we saw a little 6+4 bean in the right place, with a beating heart. Still early but nice to know things are going well so far!

bluesdetoi · 07/01/2017 09:37

I went for an early scan yesterday at 6+4 as well, and the baby's heart was beating so loudly, it made me tear up. It was only 71 mm long and the heartbeat was at 115 bpm, which all was very reassuring and progressing nicely according to the midwife.

Theres something about having a video and pictures that really seal the pregnancy deal for ya! I'm so excited for future scans when baby will be bigger and moving around!

bluesdetoi · 07/01/2017 09:40

Oh and here'a baby'a first picture, haha! Flowers I still have a hard time believing this is actually happening!

August 2017: the one in which we'll get midwife appointment
88claire · 07/01/2017 09:50

Really not Impressed. Just went to the GP all excited to get things going.. I haven't been able to make an appointment until today as they were booked up. I get there and I'm told the GP hasn't turned up for her surgery!! They couldn't get hold of her. So I've had to re book for Tuesday next week!

Probably over reacting but feeling very emotional and upset! I'm quite anxious as this is a first pregnancy and I've got other health stuff going on.

Aghhh!

rosel27 · 07/01/2017 10:20

Hi all - I'm new to MN. Think I'm due 19th August with my first and just hit week 8.

I know it seems a lot of you have had delays in getting appointments due to Christmas back log but I'm getting a bit frustrated and wondered if anyone had any advice. Still haven't spoken to the antenatal unit after calling 5/6 times and leaving a few voice messages over the last couple of weeks (since just before Christmas). They don't answer the phone and ask you to leave your name and number for a call back within 2 days - but as yet, nothing. My GP said they can't help and I just need to wait for them to ring me but I'm getting a bit impatient. I had a MC at 7 weeks 2 years ago which makes us all the bit more anxious and although I know a MW can't really reassure me at this stage, I would still like to get the ball rolling.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice on how I can get through to them? I definitely have the right number!

Thanks and congrats to all x

FlashAaaah · 07/01/2017 10:28

Hi all. I've not managed to post on this new thread yet but I've been over on the FB group a little bit.

Got my booking in appointment through for 16th but I couldn't do that day so had to delay it until 23rd when I'll be 9+5. I'm a bit sad my midwife this time round isn't the lady I had with my son who was amazing, although I'm sure the new one will be fine.

My main symptom at the moment is restless legs at night when I go to bed. It's driving me mad and I'm sleeping so badly. Thankfully my DH is off this weekend and can entertain our toddler DS.

Hearing all of you talk about how reassuring your early scans have been is making me reconsider booking one. I'm trying to be sensible and not worry that my symptoms are no where near as strong as when I had DS, but there is a little niggling that it means something isn't right. I hate this stage. Roll on the 12 week scan!

Sparklyuggs · 07/01/2017 10:34

rose and 88claire sorry to hear about the delays, so frustrating but the midwives and scanning department will make sure you get your appointments when you need them, even if they have to squeeze in an extra appointment. GPs are completely overwhelmed at the moment and I imagine it is the same in hospital as the scans do all sorts of things. Doesn't help us in early pg though.

Claire can you self refer to the midwife? A lot of ladies on here do.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/01/2017 10:41

Hi everyone! So many new names! I haven't been here since before Christmas.

I had my booking appointment yesterday, and got sent up to EPU for HG. They ended up scanning me so now I won't have another scan until I'm 20 weeks! A lot happened yesterday and I'm still in a bit of shock but after sleeping and managing to eat and drink something I feel better about it. I was disappointed about dh missing the scan.

Everything is ok with baby though, and I've got some fancy new medication for my nausea.

Just a reminder that if you pm me with your email address I can add you to the Facebook group.

Now off to read this whole thread!

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 07/01/2017 10:42

Oh and my official new due date is 5 August.
