1004 Sainsbury's does a non-alcoholic sparkling 'wine' (usually just off the wine shelf, and you will still be ID'd at the till!) which is pretty good. Esp if you're going to add OJ anyway :)

Can't help too much with G&T unless you look for some mocktails.

Haven't found anything good for red wine substitution. There's one 'sort of OK' white wine I've tried. (Plus two absolutely awful ones.)

Becks Blue is OK if you normally like Becks. Some other non-alcoholic beers are putrid.

CinnamonTwist · 11/12/2016 21:15

Rise I have been getting a weird pins and needles-ish feeling on my left hip/bum side when I lie on my left, which I am only aware of when I try to fall asleep, it's like I'm lying on grit or creased sheets with a bit of light pins and needles- difficult to describe but irritating. However when I sleep on my right I wake up with a dead left arm, which is also really odd. I generally can't get comfortable at the moment I wake up with an achey back or hips or my hips click badly after I wake up or move. Also I stretched out in my sleep the other night and obviously tightened my ligaments too quickly so got a shooting pain up my side, which woke me up. Between all this and getting up to pee every night and then not being able to go back to sleep I am constantly rather tired Sad

Badgerbird · 11/12/2016 21:23

These are both yummy! Not overly sweet like shloer etc. I like non alcohol cobra too Wine

Doi!! It didn't even occur to me to look for nonalcoholic wine!! I'll have a look for them!

I did find a recipe for a g&t mocktail that sounded good until I read the disclaimer at the bottom - this mocktail contains juniper which is not recommended for pregnant women - that's a new forbidden fruit!!

growcookeat · 11/12/2016 21:45

1004rise I've been drinking a blackcurrant cordial that taste very much like mulled wine when hot. At inlaws today they had got a new spiced Ribena which basically does the same job although is sweeter.

Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I'm falling asleep at the drop of a hat but waking every night for at least an hour. Try to read in the dark and sometimes drop off again but most nights this week I've been up since 5! Strangely I don't feel like napping after work either so I don't know if I'm actually missing the sleep?!

growcookeat · 11/12/2016 21:46

Here is the cordial...

EsmesBees · 11/12/2016 21:50

IKEA do a non-alcoholic mulled wine.

savagehk · 11/12/2016 22:12

That natureo one is the one I've found closest to wine. I think you want a de-alcoholised one rather than one where they started to make the wine but stopped just before fermentation.

Grow re sleeping I've been going to bed really late. I remember last pregnancy sleep becoming much lighter as well and more broken with vivid dreams. I think it's getting you ready for when baby arrives so you can wake easier and frequently to feed baby.

Northernexile · 11/12/2016 22:27

Hi everyone, nice to see you on the new thread! I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and am more nervous than excited tbh, just want to know if everything's ok, as there's no nuchal testing here. Don't think I'm going to find out the sex, had a surprise both times previously.

Could someone add me to the list please? No. 3 due on 27th April. If not I'll do it when I get on my pc at work.

Re bags, I have a pacapod, and I found that the little pods inside for changing/feeding are really handy and they still get used now, even if the main bag doesn't.

lullaby23 · 12/12/2016 08:43

Another vote for Becks Blu as the nicest non alcoholic beer. I would rather have a small glass of proper wine occasionally I'm a bit scared about non alcoholic wine! Quite enjoy a tonic water with ice and lime and pretend there's vodka in there.

I often wake up with numb hands, it's really annoying.

Good luck for all the 20 week scans! Still another month to go here Confused

MissMooMoo · 12/12/2016 09:57

I drink appletiser when everyone is having champagne, have found the non alcoholic wines yuck!

Another week at work! I spent the weekend up in Scotland visiting my friend and her 2 girls who both have birthdays this month, it was lovely. I can't believe next time I see them I will have my own baby!
DH did NOTHING all weekend. Our sitting room is a tip,no laundry done,no food shop etc I am really upset that its all fallen to me, I am worried that he won't step up once the baby arrives! I tried to explain to him that when he goes away for the weekend I don't just clock off! I do the things that need to be done so we can have clean clothes, dishes, and food for the work week.
Sorry for the moan! He says he will go to the supermarket after work, I hope he doesn't forget.

savagehk · 12/12/2016 10:27

Why are you scared of non-alcoholic wine lullaby?

Has anyone else found that they have lower back and hip pain when lying in bed sleeping. I am constantly tossing and turning from one side to another. Not sure what the solution is? Do support pillows help with this sort of thing?

Adventuregame · 12/12/2016 11:29

I've got bad lower back hip pain but I think it's from an old injury. I have an appointment with a pregnancy Osteopath next week.

OP posts:
Badgerbird · 12/12/2016 11:41

lucie I get this a bit and think a pillow between legs helps although I think the back pain is from me still trying to sleep on my back sometimes without realising. Had bad hip before but acupuncture has helped that and also reeeeaaaalllly helped my ligament/trapped nerve pain I've had in lower back since about 5 weeks!

missy I hope he remembers the shopping for his own sake! ShockGrin

Grow there is a moany middle of the night group on MN, you could join some of us over there! Yep sleeping is sometimes elusive!! Either can't get to sleep, wake up in night for wee then can't get back to sleep or like last night just generally awake a lot! I guess as savage says it's good prep Confused

KLane · 12/12/2016 11:50

For anyone missing gin, I highly recommend Seedlip. Non-alcoholic and no sugar or sweeteners. It's a bit pricey, but SO WORTH IT. Tastes so much like gin that even before I was pregnant I was drinking it in lieu. Personally I like the Garden 108, but if you like cardamom then the Spice 94 is for you. I've noticed a lot of restaurants and bars in London have started selling it! www.seedlipdrinks.com/

Finished off a bottle of this mulled punch last night. It tastes a lot like mulled wine, I must say. Even DH was loving it! www.alcoholfree.co.uk/rochester-organic-mulled-punch-725ml-p-209.html?cPath=2_66_57

MrsJW15 · 12/12/2016 11:51

Lucie I'm tossing and turning all night as well, and so pretty exhausted all the time. Think it might be time to try the pillow between the legs - and then maybe start investigating the pregnancy pillows.

lucieloos · 12/12/2016 11:55

Thanks MrsJ, Badger and Adventure. I think I'm definitely going to try the pillow between the legs and investigate support pillows. Does anyone have any recommendations?

1004Rise · 12/12/2016 12:11

I gave in at the weekend and ordered one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0052E68IC/ref=mpssa1115aa_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1481544499&sr=8-15&keywords=maternity+pillow

Thought it might be worth a try and see if it helps with the pins and needles too.

I have no idea whether it'll work but reviews seemed good....

lucieloos · 12/12/2016 12:19

That one looks pretty good rise! I'm between that one or this which also has good reviews

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000UTPIW6/ref=mpssa111aait?ie=UTF8&qid=1481545061&sr=8-1&keywords=dreamgenii+pregnancy+pillow&pi=SY200QL40

savagehk · 12/12/2016 12:24

I didn't get a special pregnancy pillow last time, just made do with using regular pillows to prop me up :)

Does remind me a 'boppy' pillow was actually relatively useful when baby arrived as a breastfeeding support - although still pretty costly new, I'll probably look to find a second-hand one again.

lucieloos · 12/12/2016 12:25

Yes they say that you can use them afterwards for breast feeding. Think there's lots of second hand ones on eBay.

mightymouse76 · 12/12/2016 12:30

Lucie I've been improvising with a small quilt between the knees as I found my existing pillows a bit bulky and it has made a difference.

Really surprised at how quickly sleep has become uncomfortable though...I still feel like we're all at the beginning, but we're not, are we?! Shock

A friend recommended the type rise just posted- also said the v shaped one is great. She used it through birth and feeding (although said it needed incinerating after that Grin)

There is a good article on the independent website from June, reviewing '10 best pregnancy pillows'.

I might go for the dreamgenii one from Babies R Us- apparently it's recommended by midwives/has won awards etc. That could all be meaningless but I like the fact it discourages rolling on to your back (which I do, until the pressure wakes me up!)

Oh and I had my first excruciating night leg cramps last night...just to add to the night time joys!

mightymouse76 · 12/12/2016 12:31

Lucie cross post! That's the one

crazyzooo · 12/12/2016 12:41

KLane you are a star! So excited to order some "gin". One can only drink so much tonic water and orange juice... Smile
