Had a private anomaly scan today (NHS one booked for 3rd of January) and all is well. We knew we are having a boy which is just as well as his boy im bits were very obvious..! Got some 4D images and in one photo he is doing a 'thumbs up'. Amazed at the detail they get! Smile

FatOldBag · 21/12/2016 21:29

Hello everyone, haven't posted on here for ages but I'm on the fb group. I'm 18wks tomorrow, due date 25 May. 20wk scan isn't for another 3 weeks but I had a 16wk one privately so we know it's a boy.

Is anyone else still being sick at this stage? I'm sure with my other 2 dc it was fading off by now but I'm still being sick every day and I've had enough of it! On the plus side I haven't put any weight on really, so far, which is probably a good thing as I'm in the overweight BMI category, booo.

Badgerbird · 21/12/2016 22:55

Oh yes of course tea :) hope it's her though, she made me giggle when she said she'd fallen into the birthing pool before coz she's a bit short!

Ooh that sounds good cox! I'm going to investigate and see if my hospital run one. Hope you feel better soon. So many of us pregnant ladies seem to have had a v&d bug :(

Yay to good scans!! Smile

crazy congrats on scan :) can I ask if your scan was quite an early one? Only as I have early private one booked and wondering how much they'll be able to see....

RasperryInAMelon · 21/12/2016 23:06

Badger I had my scan at 16+2 and now that we've finally told both sets of parents we're pleased to say we're having a girl! All was clear to see Grin

RasperryInAMelon · 22/12/2016 06:23

Well that was a rough night. Anyone else experience being ill after their flu jab?

Had family over for a ore Christmas get together and I ended up sitting in bed throwing up Sad

Could really do without going to work today and starting at 8.30 with a breakfast meeting...

crazyzooo · 22/12/2016 06:44

Badger it was at 18+6 so quite early. The sonographer was great. We saw lips/nostrils/eyes/boybits/anus/fingers/toes etc all very clearly. The 4D photos are a bit 'odd' -I don't think it took that well to be a still but looked amazing moving.

Also have an anterior placenta... which I think explains my odd lopsided bump Grin

lalaland1985 · 22/12/2016 07:57

Congratulations raspberry on your news of a girl! I've been ill after my jags too Sad

MissMooMoo · 22/12/2016 10:23

congrats raspberry !
whoever asked about being sick, I haven't thrown up in a few weeks (apart from the bug I had) but this morning I had a horrible wave of nasua and did gag a few times. I hope you start to feel better soon!

I got up early this morning and walked to Morrisons to do a final shop before Christmas, just basic things as my mom and dad arrive from Canada tomorrow! well I forgot my shopping list on the table! I had it all divided up into sections so I could whizz around the shop quickly, instead I had to walk down every asile and hope to remember what I had on there! sitting at Starbucks now with a Christmas drink watching all the shoppers.

Joceshe · 22/12/2016 10:33

Im new on here. Im 18 +4 and due on 22nd May. Have my 20 week scan on 6th Jan so am very excited. Only drawback atm is that nausea hasnt subsided. In fact its getting worse! All my usual tricks to ease it are not working either. Has anyone else who suffers wit nausea had any respite with the travel sickness bands? My midwife recommended them but am yet to try. Will try anything at this point!

1004Rise · 22/12/2016 10:51

Welcome Joceshe! Sickness bands worked for me a bit in the beginning but then I thought they started to wear off (or I might just have been getting worse) but you have to position them correctly. What I did like about them was if you felt nauseous then if you pressed the button things it seemed to ease it a bit - or at least distract me for 5 minutes.

On the subject of feeling sick, I've been fine for ages but out doing good shopping for Christmas a couple of days ago I was nearly sick in the middle of the shop because of a smelly person combined with cigarette smell. Took me so much by surprise I exclaimed out loud DH was hushing me Blush

Congratulations on your girl rasperry!

20 week scan for me a week today, at least I have Christmas and my birthday in between to distract me from the waiting!!

lucieloos · 22/12/2016 11:42

I'm still feeling and being sick. The bands didn't do anything for me so gave up on them a long time ago. Wish it would pass.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 22/12/2016 11:56

Is it possible to start being nauseous again at 18 weeks - I kept waking up last night on the verge of being sick. Feeling awful today, both nauseous and tired because of lack of sleep. I wish I could go home and curl up under the duvet. Last day at work today so lots to sort out as I'm away until mid Jan.

Anomaly scan tomorrow, they booked it early as I'm going to be away. Hoping for the best and have started to feel tiny flutters since yesterday. We are going to find out the sex.

RasperryInAMelon · 22/12/2016 12:12

I've not had any sickness since about wk 11 which is promising. Sadly seem to have found a small moving lump in my neck this morning which is worrying me - trying to get a GP appointment booked is like pulling teeth Sad

Badgerbird · 22/12/2016 12:29

raspberry congrats on having a girl :) sorry to hear about your lump, hope you can get emergency appointment.

Sorry to hear so many of you still suffering with sickness, that's so rubbish, especially around Xmas!!

Welcome joceshe Smile I have some sickness bands never opened. Happy to post them to you if you wAnt to try? Pop me a private message if you do.

crazy thanks for that, I'll have to wait and see what they can see tonight. Just hoping they can do the checks they need to (heart, kidneys, lungs etc) but realise it's early still.

McBaby · 22/12/2016 12:55

Raspberry if you had your flu jab yesterday it might be your lymph node reacting to the jab. It happens a lot with the kids after their jabs they have lumps all over the place.

Have a look on line at where your lymph nodes are.

RasperryInAMelon · 22/12/2016 15:34

Thanks mcbaby never had a flu jab before - it's not 'hurting' per se - but does ache and is tender to touch. Might try a warm compress later tonight.

One more day at work!!!

talulahbelle · 22/12/2016 16:23

19+1 today.
One week to go until my 20 week scan (29th)
How's everyone doing on buying baby stuff? I've just picked up a rocking/bouncer chair from someone on our local freecycle group, excellent condition. One less thing to get.
Mostly sorted for Xmas but still a pile of DDs presents to wrap.

lalaland1985 · 22/12/2016 16:40

My scan is on the 29th too! Grin

McBaby · 22/12/2016 16:41

Can't bring myself to buy anything it's the same every time. I will work out what I need at about 30 weeks so I can pack the babies bag for hospital.

Autumnsweater · 22/12/2016 19:28

I've started feeling sick again this week it's rubbish. Also travel sick for the first time in my life Xmas Confused. Hasn't affected my appetite luckily as want to make the most of Christmas food since I can't partake in the alcohol!

teainbed · 22/12/2016 19:33

Not bought anything yet!

I find Pregnacare can make you quite nauseous, are you still taking it? I took it on a empty stomach today and felt awful. But then I'm also on aspirin which doesn't help.

Rustler74 · 22/12/2016 19:39

Pregnacare notice states tot take it with your main meal. Have you tried that? It's never made me nauseous.

EsmesBees · 22/12/2016 20:05

Not bought anything yet either. But have started accosting random parents on the street about how they like their double buggies. And am checking all the local FB sites for a co-sleeper crib. So some progress being made! We've got ages yet...

lucieloos · 22/12/2016 20:08

What's everyone's thought on Moses baskets? We are going to have a co sleeper for upstairs so I wasn't going to bother with a Moses basket but then I thought if baby is napping downstairs during the day it could be handy otherwise where else will we put them?

EsmesBees · 22/12/2016 20:51

Are you getting a pram lucie as they can sleep in there during the day (not that mine ever would!). I think mine mainly napped on me or in the sling to be honest.
