Doctor called and said to try and keep hydrated, take pain killers for the cramps and fever and that they will call me again at 6.

1004Rise · 14/12/2016 13:54

Aww miss that's rubbish, hope you feel better soon! And that DH is looking after you well

lalaland1985 · 14/12/2016 14:15

Oh my goodness I have been away for AGES! Apologies. I had my 12 week scan on Nov 4th and all is well. My due date is now May 15th.

I've not been keeping the best.. sickness and rib pain. Been signed off but due back Friday. Had a bleed yesterday and went to the hospital. I was incredibly anxious and waited 3.5 hours to be seen. All is well though. I've attached a scan picture.. gender predictions welcome! Next scan is dec 29th which can't come quick enough.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while, but just checking back in. Hypremesis still going strong here, and had to come off one of the Meds at it interferes with a cardiac drug I need to take.
But otherwise well- looking pretty large already- it's my 2nd as definitely showing more than with my 1st. 20 week scan booked for 1st week in Jan. I hope you are all well. Xx

Badgerbird · 14/12/2016 15:33

missmoo That sounds horrid, you poor thing! Try not to worry too much and just rest and let yourself be looked after Flowers

shirley and lala sorry to hear you have both been suffering, that's rubbish! Hopefully feeling "blooming" is just around the corner ;)

Brightsmoke · 14/12/2016 15:44

Missmoomoo, I hope your feeling better soon! Sounds horrible.

I'm officially 20 weeks today, half way, wooo!! 20 week scan is Monday, so excited to see him/her and see how much they have grown! Praying I stay in team yellow!!

Barnes79 · 14/12/2016 19:06

16 week midwife appointment today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat Grin I also found out one of my blood tests was a bit on the low side but the midwife didn't even know what the implications were - she was going to ring the hospital to check. She's also referring me for physio at my request - I know my back will just get worse so I'm going to try to head it off.

savagehk · 14/12/2016 19:15

Barnes the only thing I can think of that'd be a bit 'on the low side' is iron -> mild anaemia; but not sure why she wouldn't know what the issue with that is? Hmm

Sonnet18 · 14/12/2016 19:45

missmoomoo I had norovirus last year and was around 22 weeks pregnant. It was horrible. Baby was fine (currently asleep in her cot!!) and get plenty of nutrients from your body. Stay hydrated as best you can. You poor thing, it was awful so I feel bad for you!

Thank you to those who answered my moan about my mil. Will try to avoid her for a little while and hope she realises how much of a bitch she's been...won't hold my breath though!

ShiniBerry · 14/12/2016 19:59

Anyone else suddenly feeling super large? I've had a growth spurt the past week and bump has popped out A LOT! 20 weeks tomorrow!!

growcookeat · 14/12/2016 20:06

Lalaland glad to hear everything is well after your bleed. Did they know what caused it? I had similar two weeks ago and they said it was my cervix.

Missmoo hope you're feeling better soon and getting some rest.

Re mat leave - I'm thinking that I will start on 18th April or week after which will be the first day back at school after my Easter hols. So I'll actually be off from 1st April until dd 6th May. I don't mind having lots of time at home, I'm used to occupying myself through hols while DH is at work! Hope I'm not far overdue though otherwise even I will get bored!

Sleeping terribly at the moment - exhausted for work and got the Xmas parties, nativity, class assemblies etc to get through this week! Roll on Friday Xmas Smile

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 14/12/2016 20:15

Thank you badger,

Hopefully you are right and I will glow eventually! I seem to remember that 20 weeks onwards was my good time last time around.

Fingers crossed. Xx

PeachIcedT · 14/12/2016 20:22

Sorry to hear a few of you are experiencing various discomforts. I think with Norovirus, as long as you follow a typical pattern of symptoms, it's normally too short-lived to have any significant impact, and many babies put up with a lot more vomiting as standard during the first trimester. Hope you rest up well though missmoomoo and are soon on the mend.

So far I have escaped without too much issue, though I'm really starting to notice my pelvis for the first time ever, and I'm a bit concerned about continuing exercise as I did a long slightly overly-vigorous walk last week and it really hurt after.

lalaland the first thing I saw on your scan pic was a little heart shape formed from what I presume is the umbilical cord - cute! Congrats.

I'm undecided about mat leave - my job is in a hospital and is pretty physical, lots of bending and standing through the day. I was originally considering taking annual leave the week after Easter and then starting mat leave from the last week in April, but that'll be 4 weeks before due date - don't know if it's better to tag that leave onto the end of mat leave instead. To be fair, if contractions started at work, all I'd need to do is stagger walk a couple of minutes to the labour ward, but probably best not to leave it til that point if possible!

1004Rise · 14/12/2016 20:48

I'm starting to find sitting in my office chair uncomfortable, I did have a Swiss ball chair that I use up to about 12/13 weeks till I missed the extra back support so got the big office chair out again. Adjustable in multiple directions just not the right ones for pregnancy Confused Think I'm going to have to bolster it out with cushions which will mean I need a box to put my feet on as they won't touch the floor..... every day is a new adventure ShockWink

Badgerbird · 14/12/2016 21:08

rustler not too far from there. Is this your first?

barnes does your back feel like pinched nerves and twangs when bending up and down? Mines doing that again and it's annoying! I'm guessing that's ligament stuff is it? I hope you get to see physio soon.

Barnes79 · 14/12/2016 22:24

Savage - it was one of the 4 blood results to do with heamoglobin. 3 were normal but one, which apparently she doesn't request but it's done anyway, was a bit low. It was the mean corpus hb conc....

Badger - mine is just night pain at the moment and feels muscular (achey and stiff) and Sacroiliac joint (part of the pelvis and I get quite sharp pains from that). Yours may be muscular but be careful about bending forwards - always try to bend at the knees rather than the back. It's worth getting referred for physio anyway as they can give you advice and exercises etc.

Badgerbird · 14/12/2016 22:45

Thanks barnes I'll bring it up with midwife at next weeks appointment. Hope you sleep better tonight!

lucieloos · 15/12/2016 07:05

Barnes, if it was a low hb result then it normally indicates anaemia and low iron as savage said.

Barnes79 · 15/12/2016 08:25

Lucie - I think the midwife was unsure cos the other 3 haemoglobin ones were normal. I think it's a vit b12 deficiency as I've had that before, and it affects how easily your haemoglobin can attach to oxygen. Will see what she says...

INeedNewShoes · 15/12/2016 08:41

MissMoo - I hope you're feeling better today.

Don't worry too much about the baby. It will take what it needs from whatever hydration is available.

I had a couple of days in hospital last month after becoming very dehydrated following a sickness bug. I was so worried about the baby but it is still wriggling away in there!

If you are very dehydrated (dry mouth, stopped urinating) you might need IV rehydration fluids at the hospital, but you need your GP or midwife (phone them) to organise this in advance so that you don't risk infecting others by presenting to A&E.

I really struggled to recover from the bug, probably because any nutrients I put in were being absorbed by the baby leaving none for me. Make sure you look after yourself and rest as much as possible Flowers

MissMooMoo · 15/12/2016 08:52

Thanks for all the well wishes!
The midwife was supposed to ring me bacj at 6 last night but never did.

I did have a very dry mouth and lips, only had a wee once in about 12 hours but today I seem much better.
I have drunk lots of water already this morning and been urinating so things are looking better! Spending the day on the sofa today and DH has gone back to work.

Gurtie28 · 15/12/2016 09:00

Suspect marks on the inside of my bra last night....it can't possibly be?? Can it????

lucieloos · 15/12/2016 09:02

Barnes, a vitamin b12 deficiency would still mean anaemia. Yes see what they say though.

teainbed · 15/12/2016 09:17

If your Hb and ferritin are ok I wouldn't worry about it just now.

Anyone having bizarre dreams yet?

I'm looking at Baby Joggers. Has anyone got one? I had a really good Quinny but gave it away. It was so heavy though. Baby joggers look a bit lighter. I won't be using it until the baby is a bit bigger so I'm not going to bother with a pram or a carrycot.

teainbed · 15/12/2016 09:18

The physio showed us the other night to roll up a towel and put in in the small of your back if you're sitting in a chair, it was really comfortable.
