Hi all, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm due about the 20th July with my 3rd child. I have two girls already. Anyone else pregnant with their 3rd? I had a scan on Friday for pain and my booking appointment today so it's all starting to feel very real!

purplebella · 05/12/2016 17:46

I'd suggest just telling her as nicely as you can as soon as possible. Tell her you were really worried about telling her and then just let her deal with it in her own way. We've got this situation with SIL. My OH told his parents first then he's gonna tell her, that way she's got someone to talk to. It's hard not to feel guilty but you've got to remember it's not your fault!

purplebella · 05/12/2016 17:48

Yes hew this is my 3rd (also have 2dd!)

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 05/12/2016 17:51

Thanks purple and beam, I'm leaning towards possibly a phone call to give her the space to react how she needs to. I can only imagine how she must feel so trying to be mindful of that but also more anxious about this than anything else! The previous experience has me on edge and I'm far too timid with my family at the best of times, I have a real issue with misplaced guilt! Hopefully I am doing that thing where I make it bigger in my head than it actually is.

Moonbeam2216 · 05/12/2016 18:13

Thumbsup, personally I'd tell her over the telephone too or private message? That way she has time to take it in and process it. I was so worried about telling my best friend (she's like a sister to me) she and her husband are both suffer from infidelity, she's been desperately trying to lose weight to start ivf with no avail. I sent her a message online and she was over the moon and I later confessed I thought she would be angry/upset but she said she's over the moon for me so your sisters reaction may surprise you. Hopefully it goes ok for you x

Hew - 3rd pregnancy for me, I have 2dds

OohNoDooEy · 05/12/2016 19:00

I had similar thumbs & did it over the phone. She said congrats but the conversation moved on quickly after that.

wildone81 · 05/12/2016 19:27

Just back from early private scan and everything's looking good 😀 Measurement and heart beat rate both spot on for my dates..... so it looks like this is actually happening 😳😳

Hewhew · 05/12/2016 19:43

It seems the 3rd pregnancies are all about the 2dd sparkle and purplebella!

Seahawk80 · 05/12/2016 19:49

Don't feel too guilty thumbs my younger sisters both had children before me. It took me 7 months to conceive which I know isn't long but during that time my youngest sister half heartedly started trying for a second and of course it happened straight away, she wasn't that pleased that it was so quick! I was upset and had a cry later on when she told me but I was happy for her and never let her know I was upset. It's not your fault and it's really selfish of your sister to behave like that Flowers

purplebella · 05/12/2016 20:17

It does hew! I don't mind what this one is, as long as it's healthy! Congrats on the good scan wild Grin

mummycaitlin · 05/12/2016 21:58

I had a phone call from the community midwife of health and wellbeing today (or something like that!) who wants to see me on Monday. Basically I've been referred due to my bmi as it's over 30 (only just as it's 34!) and apparently she wants to chat to me about 'portion control' and it will take 35 minutes! Sigh, wonderful. I'm reeeeaaaalllly looking forward to that!

So in a space of two weeks I would've seen my midwife for booking in appointment, nurse for blood tests, EPU for scan due to bleeding, consultant paediatrician tomorrow, 'fatty midwife' next week and a private scan booked for next week too! All this and I'm only 7 weeks!!

mummycaitlin · 05/12/2016 21:59

Also, is anybody actually on the Facebook group? I've not heard anything back about joining and didn't know if it was worth setting up a new one?!

parsnips82 · 05/12/2016 22:13

Hi mummycaitlin that sounds like a lot of appointments! Is the pediatrician for the new baby?? At least you are getting them all out of the way!!
I have tried to get on the fb group but no joy.

fluffandsnuff · 05/12/2016 22:16

whyistherumgone · 05/12/2016 23:15

ah so pleased to see your update million so so chuffed for you. Must be such a relief after the last day or two, congrats!!!

Yes I'm still going strong - I'm 8 weeks tomorrow according to
my dates so if you're anything like me you'll be reporting for duty for a few weeks yet. I keep thinking it will stop... but nope!

danigrace · 05/12/2016 23:52

Fantastic news Million, been thinking of you!

Cat bless your OH, that really made me giggle!!

7 weeks today, the doc said they'd refer me at 6 weeks & I didn't need to do anything, I rang today to make sure the referral had been made only to be told by someone else that I need to self-refer! It's a good job I checked!

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 06/12/2016 06:48

Ah million that's fab, have been thinking about you.

crombanna · 06/12/2016 07:20

Yay, million!. Such a relief. When I had an early reassurance scan I told myself RIGHT no more worrying about my boobs stopping hurting or feeling less sick...I obviously have no idea what's going on in there so should just try to relax. So far it's worked ok.

Hope there are no more scares for any of us. This early pregnancy thing is no joke.

mummycaitlin · 06/12/2016 07:20

Great news million really happy for you

Seahawk80 · 06/12/2016 07:32

Yay million fantastic news!! I've been thinking of you. Seeing blood is just so scary. Hopefully no more for you.

whyistherumgone · 06/12/2016 08:58

Agreed crombanna it's really scary! Only two weeks til
my early private scan - already bricking it! Can only imagine what I'm
going to be like a few days before, I apologise in advance...

Hope everyone is feeling good today. I've realised that if I don't eat as soon as I get up I start feeling a bit funny and queasy so have been trying to make sure I have something. Trying to eat healthily in the run up to Christmas is so hard though!

thumbs hope everything goes ok with your sister, I don't really have any advice but looks like previous posters have given you some good ideas so hope she takes it well.

whyistherumgone · 06/12/2016 08:59

dani missed your post - that's really bad! Very good job you checked, you'd have been wondering what on earth was going on otherwise
