That should read 'telling dd on Christmas eve' not telling dad!

suntraveller · 17/12/2016 13:25

rum hula drew this week sure has been a rough week for quite a few people Flowers this time of year we always seem to have something to keep us busy, but just remember to take time out for yourselves for some extra TLC

CatRash · 17/12/2016 13:26

Tinkling Scan buddies! Well you'd think so....I wish I'd asked more as was considering getting a scan in before Christmas but now put off but don't know the ins and outs of why!

My symptoms have very much disappeared but I'm trying not to worry about it. I have a horrendous cold and think that might be masking it somewhat. Tbh I don't ever get I'll so the fact I have a cold is probably a symptom of my lowered immune system...

AMillionMilesFromThere · 17/12/2016 15:14

bawbles dh has blabbed it to our eldest dd who is 7 ! She's a very mature 7 though (soon to be 8) and has kept it to herself so far! We haven't told dd2 (4) yet because she'd shout it from the rooftops Grin

My all day nausea has now developed into full fledged vomiting , I've completely lost my appetite and am eating very little. I usually visit my mum & family on Saturdays but that's off the cards today, dh is trying to convince me to get out for some shopping but I'm totally not up for it and worried if i feel sick what will I do.

Early pregnancy really can be very isolating and lonely.

Spindelina · 17/12/2016 16:51

Telling our DD (also 4) will effectively be going public too. So we're not telling her until we're ready - at least until we get the results of our first trimester screening, maybe a few more weeks after that.

Bawbles · 17/12/2016 18:08

I don't mind her telling people - it's Christmas and will only be a few days until scan so she'll only see immediate family anyway, most of whom already know.

I was more concerned in case the scan showed a problem but hopefully having had four scans already things are looking ok. I've not lost any blood for over a week and have been scanned since so it's less probable that there will be bad news

LuciBee231015 · 17/12/2016 19:23

I've had some left sided pain today, hoping it's just growing pains. Been doing this the housework so that might have brought it on perhaps. Sitting with a pizza and feet up tonight!

Spindelina · 17/12/2016 19:37

Bawbles I'm in the same situation re having had several scans (about the only one here up have had a good day on Thursday I think Sad), so not worried about viability. But my age (38) means I'm at relatively high risk of the trisomies, so we want to get those results in before we go public. And actually it's been quite stressful, so I think we'd like just a couple of weeks even if the results are fine to chill out, relax, and maybe tell our best mates and close family before we tell the world!

DrewOB0 · 18/12/2016 09:10

Morning all! 1 week since scan and still no adverse signs, fingers crossed

CatRash · 18/12/2016 09:31

I hope all is OK Drew - when I was reading about early scans I saw a lot of people commenting about mis-measurements and how easy it is to get it wrong in the early days. It put me off getting an early scans tbh. Think positive happy baby thoughts.

On another I tried on the dress I plan to wear to the works do on Friday and can't zip it up over my chest by about 2" Blush I'm big breasted anyway (makes me sound like a delicious turkey) but I've had that dress years and it always fits like a dream. Looks like I'm going shopping today!!

LuciBee231015 · 18/12/2016 10:00

Fingers crossed Drew!

Cat rash, I've got a wedding on 29th December. I bought a dress about 3 weeks ago and haven't tried it on again since. Think I better try it tonight 😳

Gooseygoosey12345 · 18/12/2016 10:06

Ooh we're due July 20th! I had some bleeding too and have had a couple of scans but apart from a cyst it's all good :) dd has already announced to everyone that's she's having a little brother or sister so no secrets here lol. My sickness/tiredness has put me behind on my uni work so it's a mad catch up now! Along with Christmas (although I've been quite organised with that). The joys of early pregnancy!

DrewOB0 · 18/12/2016 10:09

I've been losing weight, so hips are thinner but I can't have anything tight around the bloat, so baggy trousers ahoi

Spindelina · 18/12/2016 10:20

Goosey what are you doing at uni? I was a PhD student first time round. I had an interview for a postdoc when I was about ten weeks - felt dreadful, especially as I was streaming with cold for which I couldn't take sudafed! I got the job - obviously it was meant to be!

Kitsandkids · 18/12/2016 19:35

I'm not planning on telling my foster kids until I can't hide it any more. But that's really only because I know they'll be excited and they'll find it hard to wait if it's too long in advance.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 18/12/2016 20:39

Spindelina I'm an undergrad studying psychology :) well done about your job!! I'm hoping to do my PhD also!

smileygrapefruit · 18/12/2016 21:18

Hi all, please could I join?

I've read the whole thread over the last couple of days and just wanted to say I'm so sorry to those who have had bad news Sad

I'm tentatively joining as I'm massively anxious about something going wrong, have 2 dd (3 yo, 13months) and suffered two miscarriages between them. Have no real symptoms at all (weirdly jealous of those being sick!!) which makes me worry but we had a private scan at 9 weeks and all looked good, 12 week scan on 23rd! EDD: 11th July

racketpot · 18/12/2016 21:35

Just checking in: 11 weeks into first pregnancy, EDD 7/7. Grapefruit, so far I also had very few symptoms and have started wondering if it's all going ok too. Patient fingers crossed till 12 week scan this Thursday!

I followed this thread for some time and was sorry about the bad news this weekend. Best wishes rum, drew and hula!

Lallypopstick · 19/12/2016 06:28

I've spent all weekend in bed with flu symptoms - really high temp yesterday had me calling NHS direct to see if it was ok to take paracetamol (it was). I'm in the same boat as you CatRash - can't feel any pregnancy symptoms as the cold / flu ones are taking over my body. Have a midwife appointment later (my first one) so hopefully I'll get a scan date pretty quick.

Hope this week is full of good news for people.

whyistherumgone · 19/12/2016 10:03

Just thought I'd pop back on to say thanks for all your kind wishes, appreciate them, and so glad to hear others are getting on OK :)

Scan is on Friday so will pop back and update you all either way.

Drew I'm so pleased to hear you've had no adverse signs since the scan, keeping everything crossed for you.

whyistherumgone · 19/12/2016 10:03

oh and get well soon Lally that must be horrible x

Notyetthere · 19/12/2016 10:47

Rum hope all goes well on Friday.

Lally get well soon. It is rubbish that we cant use many remedies to relieve the symptoms. I get very nervous now when people snivel or cough near me. It is unavoidable on the trains though.

12+2 here and symptoms are still not easing off. I had a lovely dinner yesterday only to see it again 15 mins later! I still can't swallow my saliva which I hoped would be getting easier by now. It is driving me crazy.

Sorry that I am whinging when actually scan showed baby to be fine; I must come across as ungrateful.

whyistherumgone · 19/12/2016 10:59

Not at all not sickness is the worst! You're quite allowed to feel sorry for yourself, I would if I was in your shoes! I'm terrible when I'm feeling sick. I hope my loitering on the thread doesn't make anyone feel uncomfortable; I'm genuinely thrilled everything is going well for you all :)

I will love you and leave you for a few days - if anyone has scans coming up good luck! :)

Twixes · 19/12/2016 11:16

To confuse matters I've namechanged, hated my last u/n (popularc).

Just to update, by my dates I'm 10 weeks today, but will have my official dating scan on Friday. Had a mmc at 9 weeks in September and no period in between so I've had a couple of scans already and all ok, great to see the wriggly bean! Have a 14 month old DS so will have 2 under 2, eeek! It's what I always wanted but it's not going to be easy!

EDD: 17/07/17, 1 DS

I'm so sorry to hear so many girls are going through a rough time at the moment, take care of yourselves if you're reading this x

Seahawk80 · 19/12/2016 11:45

Hi Everyone, hope this week gets better news at the scans - am thinking of you all.

I'm currently trying not to go mad waiting for the cvs results. Should be today or tomorrow. Today is actually my birthday, not the best one I've ever had (unless I get good news later!). I'll update when I hear, please keep your fingers crossed for me!
