Hi all! Sadly not great news - measuring 6 weeks instead of 9 so midwife doesn't think it's likely to be a viable pregnancy. There's also quite a large sac which I guess means the little bean and sac are the wrong ratios to each other ?
It also seems unlikely my dates could be that wrong as my cycles are pretty bang on, although I had two weird long cycles before my most recent one. I took a pregnancy test early on as well so I don't see how there's much room for discrepancy there.

We have to go back on Friday to make sure but bleeding has stopped and so has pain so it's just a waiting game now.

We are actually feeling OK - we know it's very unlikely to progress now and made our peace with it yesterday so it's just a case of wanting to get everything over with.

I will lurk about on here until we get confirmation next Friday but I'm guessing I will be leaving you all next week.

Spindelina · 16/12/2016 16:52

I've spent most of this afternoon working in the ultrasound room in which my MMC was discovered in May. Brought it all back.

Spindelina · 16/12/2016 16:54

So sorry to hear that, rum Flowers.

Seahawk80 · 16/12/2016 16:58

So sorry Rum glad you have made peace with it. Uncertainty is so awful so I know how you feel.

Hula, sorry for your news too.

Hugs to both of you

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 16/12/2016 17:03

Flowers Rum so sorry to hear your news, look after yourself over the next couple of weeks.

whyistherumgone · 16/12/2016 17:05

Thanks everyone. Hula and Drew so sorry to hear that you're experiencing the same. I hope your outcomes are positive.

Will be thinking of you both and looking out for your updates.

AMillionMilesFromThere · 16/12/2016 17:23

Oh no rum. So sorry to hear your news Sad but am very happy that you sound ok and have made your peace with it FlowersFlowers so much love and hugs to you and all the best for the future xxx

Hulaballoo · 16/12/2016 17:53

So sorry rumSad I've been chatting to DH and we've come to the conclusion that the outlook doesn't look good. I think I need to see the Dr to see how my body can catch up. Was the pain bar or heavy period? Dreading it but then again, don't want limbo. Big hugs and we'll speak soon xxx

whyistherumgone · 16/12/2016 18:01

Thanks everyone. Hula the bleed I had wasn't particularly painful but quite a lot of it - confusingly has completely stopped now no spotting or anything.

She couldn't see a heartbeat and was measuring 6 weeks which is very behind, but unsure if you can see a heartbeat at 6 weeks anyway. Either way I can't see how my dates are wrong but then I can't fully get my head around how it works if you've had a slightly longer cycle then a normal one.

Think I'm just going to consider it non viable and go to the scan Friday to have it contirmed.

Thanks for all your kind wishes, this is a lovely little group I shall be sad to leave it.

Knittinggurl · 16/12/2016 18:02

Hey all, hard times on here at the moment. I hope everything will be ok with your CVS Seahawk and my sympathies go out to you rum.

Just back from A&E myself as I've been bleeding this afternoon. I had a private scan yesterday at 11 weeks where everything looked great, so it's been a shock. They can't scan me until the EPU opens at 9 tomorrow so I'm in for a night of waiting. Hope everyone else's beans are safe xxx

mummycaitlin · 16/12/2016 18:06

So sorry to hear about those that have had bad news, thinking of you all and best of luck for the future xxx

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 16/12/2016 18:18

Gosh what a horrible time lately.
Flowers for those with pain and sadness.
I've also started bleeding again today, have decided to wait it out til my 12 week scan which is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Lallypopstick · 16/12/2016 18:29

Lots of love to everyone who needs it. Early pregnancy is so tricky and stressful.

whyistherumgone · 16/12/2016 19:15

Thanks for everyone's kind words. Good luck to everyone who is suffering/bleeding or waiting for a scan.

I'll update in a week but it will probably just be to say farewell for now. Have a good weekend all

purplebella · 16/12/2016 20:41

LuciBee231015 · 16/12/2016 21:12

Seahawk80 · 16/12/2016 21:16

ah sorry to make you sad Lucy and Bella unfortunately it's just one of those things and I hope you all stay positive and upbeat and excited about your pregnancies and wish you all lovely healthy babies xxx

Fattycowagain · 16/12/2016 22:18

To the ladies that aren't as far along as they should be, but aren't showing any signs of miscarrying: there is something called diapause. Basically the embryo stops developing for a bit and then starts to grow again! So there is a chance that that has happened to you and that would explain why you are measuring behind dates.

To the ladies that are definitely out: I'm so so sorry to hear this... Be kind to yourself!

CatRash · 16/12/2016 23:29

So sorry to hear everyones bad news! My heart goes out to each and every one of you.

I got my scan date through today, it'll be when I'm 13 weeks exactly - 16th January - seems like forever away. I asked my midwife about perhaps getting an early scan (privately) but she advised against it saying something had published in the last few days which recommends against it?! I didn't dig deeper - kind of wish I had though.

crombanna · 16/12/2016 23:29

God this is rubbish. I feel so sad for you all, I'm sorry. What a horrible run of things we are having. And the timing before Christmas....well it's never going to be a good time of course but still.

I have a scan on Tuesday, a private one. It's such a common worry, but I don't really feel pregnant anymore and just can't believe there's anything in there. My logical self is telling me a lack of symptoms mean nothing but emotionally I'm struggling.

Flowers to all.

rhodes2015 · 17/12/2016 03:32

I'm so so sorry hula drew & rum 💐💐💐

Crombanna, I don't feel pregnant either. I have my dating scan Wednesday & anxiety kicked in yesterday. It's 3:30am & im awake

TinklingTheIvories · 17/12/2016 08:11

Flowersfor all you lovely ladies who are going through a hard time

Cat- I've got my scan on the 16th Jan too. I'm going for a private one Wednesday. They know how far I'll be. Surely if there were any dangers they wouldn't do it?

Bawbles · 17/12/2016 10:59

So sorry to hear your news Hula, Drew and Rum Flowers

Bawbles · 17/12/2016 11:04

People with older kids: when did you tell them?

I was waiting for 12 week scan on 29th but my parents/siblings all know and think it'll be hard for them to not say anything on Christmas Day in front of dd. Plus extended family will be there so would be nice to tell everyone face to face as we won't see them again for a while.

DP suggested telling dad on Christmas Eve. I'll be 12 weeks exactly. I've already had 4 scans so feeling that it's less risky telling dd now. Thoughts?
