I thought I wasn't having morning sickness, and then today happened. OMG worse 8 hrs of my life

TinklingTheIvories · 11/12/2016 18:13

Drew - what's helped me is taking it easy first thing and eating some Rich Tea's before leaving bed. I thought I was ok yesterday, until I got up for the loo, came back to bed and felt so sick! Today I ate the biscuits before moving and I've been ok. Something to do with hormones and low blood sugar I think. Might be worth trying, though if it's actual sickness as opposed to bad nausea, then I'd suggest keeping fluids up as much as possible and resting too!

BeamReach · 11/12/2016 18:48

Exhausted! The afternoons are a real struggle and I went to an Xmas party last night and barely made it to 11pm (asleep by 9pm on couch and slooow to get out of bed in the AM any day I don't have a reason to be up).....really odd feeling like I run out of steam each day no matter how little I do (a brisk walk kind of gelid a bit but then I conk out just as early. Partner thinks this is hilarious/ I am being a wet blanket.....

wildone81 · 11/12/2016 20:38

I'm getting to early afternoon and turning into an exhausted teary mess, and that's with sleeping till 9.30/10... does not bode well for starting work at 8 in the morning.....

Kitsandkids · 12/12/2016 11:34

Hello all, I got a shock this morning when I wiped after a wee and there was some faint pink blood on the tissue. Same again about half an hour later. I put a pad in to take the kids to school and when I came back there was a bit of brownish red blood on the pad, but only a very faint bit when I wiped.

I rang the midwife and have been booked in for a scan tomorrow morning. I'm 11+3 and was just starting to dare to hope that miscarriage isn't that likely any more.

I'm currently lying on the sofa trying to take things really easy. I'm hoping that the blood is because I overdid it a bit yesterday - took the kids out for the day and there were lots of steep stairs up and down - and that the baby is actually still ok.

I suppose the good thing is at least I get a scan tomorrow, as I haven't got a date for my first 'official' scan yet. I'll let you know how I get on.

LuciBee231015 · 12/12/2016 12:01

Kits, hope you are ok! Take it easy today. Hopefully nothing to worry about as had some brownish blood too. Fingers crossed everything is ok!

Can't believe you are 11+3 and haven't had a scan date yet! I'm 11+2 and got mine on Thursday afternoon.

Keep us updated xx

Kitsandkids · 12/12/2016 13:16

Thanks Luci. Just been to the loo and no more on the pad but quite a bit of red blood when I wiped. Got a bit of a headache too but that's probably because I've been worrying! Will see what tomorrow brings! Xx

Notyetthere · 12/12/2016 14:45

Kits hope all is ok. Definitely take it easy. Thinking of you. As for the official scan, I also only received my appointment on Saturday for 5th Jan. I was 9+6 then. Yours a bit late though. Hope they didn't forget you. Anyway, you have a scan tomorrow which should hopefully show that everything is fine. You haven't reported any pain which is a hopeful sign.

I had my private scan today and it showed baby to be ok, 164bpm heart beat and was giving us a wave on the screen. All seems to be well, my dates have been adjusted to 11+4 which changes my EDD to 29th June 2017. I will also have to change the nuchal scan date as the current one is at 15wks which would late.

Notyet, how many weeks did you have yourself at? Be interested to know how much they brought you forward by. I have a scan on Thursday and I have myself at 11+5 on that day, hoping they don't put me back to 10 weeks or something, getting so close to 12 now I dont want to go backwards! Wonderful news about the scan.

Kits, notyet is right you haven't reported any pain so fingers crossed you are good. Just take it easy until tomorrow xx

Seahawk80 · 12/12/2016 17:15

Hope you're ok kits. Let us know how you get on. Hopefully the lack of pain is a good sign. I've had a few bleeds and have been ok but it's always scary. I don't think I'll stop checking after I wipe until the baby's out!

Notyetthere · 12/12/2016 17:26

Luci Going by my LMP which was a miscarriage but I was tracking bbt, cm and used ovulation sticks, I knew exactly when I ovulated which today would put me at 11 weeks exactly. Today's scan put me at 11wks+4 days. I had a scan on 7th Nov and it measured 5+1 which would have had me at 10+1 today. When I told today's sonographer about the 7th Nov scan and that we saw a heartbeat then, she commented that I should have measured 6wks then and not 5wks as you normally can't see a heat beat that early.

So my dates have moved about a bit. From an EDD of 3rd July to 9th July now brought forward to 29th June. I still think a more EDD is 3rd July. DH is over 6 ft tall so baby might be taller for its age, by a whole 4 days. lol

Even if my dates have changed, I wish to stay on here on the July thread.

Oh right! I wonder what they say about me on Thursday!

bluebird1235 · 12/12/2016 19:00

Hello ladies, can I join please?

I've been lurking for a while but thanks to several fairly alarming bleeds I didn't quite feel brave enough to join til now, but I had my midwife appointment this morning and a scan at the weekend and not only is everything absolutely fine but I have two little beans! They both measured about 21mm and one of them was even wiggling around on the scan!

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow which puts my edd at 18th July (though apparently twins are normally early...)

Kits I hope you're doing ok. I've had bright red blood (which bled straight through my jeans before we could pull over at a service station) but no pain and it turned out to be ok. It's hard not to worry though!

Bawbles · 12/12/2016 19:22

Hope you are ok kits.

I'm 10+2 and had my 4th scan today as I keep losing blood (red and lots of it) it usually only lasts a couple of hours but is scary.

Baby doing great and growing well so I'm worrying less and less about the blood loss.

Popularcontrarian · 12/12/2016 19:58

Gosh girls, so many of you losing blood, it's so common that hopefully you're ok kits.

Welcome bluebird and your two beans. Are they identical? Or do you even know that at this stage? So exciting.

Not yet that's a lot of date moving! I'm in the same boat as you with no period since mc. I have my dates at 9 weeks but my (unofficial) last scan put me a few days ahead. They have me back in for my proper dating scan on the 23rd :)

I think I might've turned a corner with the nausea, probably shouldn't speak too soon on it though! It went at about 10 weeks for DS. Still exhausted Xmas Sad

suntraveller · 12/12/2016 20:06

Welcome bluebird that is exciting news with 2 little ones.
It's exciting with everyone starting to get scans &dates, I guess time seems to move slowly until appointments start happening. I have my 1st MW appt on Wednesday and I'm half expecting her to ask me why I'm there and if I sure I'm not just eating more Xmas Grin

bluebird1235 · 12/12/2016 20:08

Popular - they have two separate sacs and two placentas so they are likely to be non-identical but there is a chance (10% ish I think) that they still might be if one egg split less than three days after fertilisation.

AMillionMilesFromThere · 12/12/2016 20:18

I'm really surprised at all the bleeders (me included!), I didn't realise it was this common!

Mine turned out to be absolutely fine, Good luck to all Flowers

I've been trying to get myself a bit organised in the past couple of days as the nausea has kicked in, and with two dc and a dh that works incredibly long hours, I really need to be on the ball with everything at home otherwise it all goes tits up around here!

So I asked around and found a brilliant cleaner who also irons, she's been in today and has tackled my mountain of ironing in just 2.5 hours Blush ok it's not completely finished yet but it's bloody brilliant still so many ironed clothes Grin

I'm doing a big food shop online tonight after roughly planning some stick-in-the-oven type things plus lots of fruit and veggies we can eat raw, which should hopefully balance things out !

Spindelina · 12/12/2016 20:40

My BFF had a lot of bleeding in her first pregnancy, right up into the third trimester. ELCS at 38 weeks, baby absolutely fine, and they never did work out why the bleeding. Bit stressful for her though.

I had an aura at work today. I get them from time to time, but particularly while pregnant. If I drink loads I can usually stop the thumping pain from starting, so I ended up rather full of Oasis from the hospital shop! Vision cleared after about an hour, but I've been feeling a bit wobbly ever since - had to sit down this afternoon to stop myself feeling faint. Much sugar consumed, and I might have eaten a doorstep piece of bread fried in the fat left in the pan from the burgers we had for dinner Blush.

mummycaitlin · 12/12/2016 20:42

bluebird such lovely news about twins, were you shocked? Are they your first DC? I wonder if we will have any other sets of twins in the next couple of weeks when people start to have their scans!

bluebird1235 · 12/12/2016 20:47

Yep - first dc for me so really am being thrown in at the deep end. I was definitely surprised. DP had been joking about it a LOT but I never thought it would actually happen. Went for an early scan at 6 weeks because of bleeding and was completely expecting them to tell me that there was nothing in there and then there were two of them!

TinklingTheIvories · 12/12/2016 20:53

Congrats bluebird!

Fattycowagain · 12/12/2016 21:18

I'm nervous about tomorrow, so any kind words now and crossed fingers tomorrow would be highly appreciated.
I feel pregnant. Nausea, going off food (I've left my tea after a few bites today and yesterday), craving all the bad stuff (especially those tiny bacon rinds cubes...), needing to wee a lot, weird mood swings and my nipples are a bit tender.
But... I have no idea how far along I am! I am hoping the midwife will find a heartbeat and can tell me. But if I only just fell pregnant, it might be too early to find one... Anything between around 9 and 4 weeks is possible!

CatRash · 12/12/2016 21:37

Congratulations Bluebird! Did you have particularly strong symptoms as aren't twins supposed to give off double the HCG?

Good luck Fatty - I bet you're excited to finally know where you are in the pregnancy!

Still no morning sickness here, odd bit of nausea but not a lot. Had a mini break down yesterday after a sachet of hot chocolate repeatedly fell out the cupboard. Makes me sad and angry just thinking about that sodding sachet.

Fattycowagain · 12/12/2016 21:39

Cat, just throw out the stupid sachet!
