Best of luck seahawk!

Seahawk80 · 08/12/2016 13:53

Thanks! Will let you know how it goes! Feel sick as a dog, hope I don't puke on anyone!

Cat I had that form. They also ask loads of questions - including is your husband the biological father Confused

TinklingTheIvories · 08/12/2016 14:27

Just had the appointment - they also asked me if we were related, like brother and sister. Apparently the midwife sees that more than you'd imagine!!

Fattycowagain · 08/12/2016 14:41

popular, I used to be Fattycow on here (insider joke between my DH and I), but somewhere along the road I seem to have forgotten my login details and had to set up a new account. So now I'm Fattycowagain. Wink

DamsonGinIsMyThing · 08/12/2016 15:01

I've just had my booking appointment and most of it was done by a rather lovely 1st year student midwife (obviously supervised), she did really well.
I had an early scan at the EPU due to bleeds and they've dated me at 9+6, but going by my LMP I'm 11+1, but the rather lovely midwife went from my LMP when speaking with the scanning centre so that I get my dating scan before Christmas!
hooe this afternoon goes well seahawk

Popularcontrarian · 08/12/2016 15:20

That's so nice Damson! my also very lovely sonographer did the very same thing - she put me down as 8 weeks (last week) so that I could have my dating scan before Christmas - 23rd!

Lol at Fattycow!

Seriously considering name changing myself, can't stand the one I have at the moment

Do update seahawk, best of luck not barfing on anyone Grin

Seahawk80 · 08/12/2016 15:27

Thanks everyone - all fine and only problem seems to be that baby hates having its photo taken and all the pictures are just a blur!!

BeamReach · 08/12/2016 15:56

:) Seahawk, it must be lovely to see...

Struggling a bit today. Really tired. Not nauseated per say, just feeling yuck.

I have gone right off tea.... Limiting to one or two cups a day up til now.... But just had a second small cup and it made me feel yuck.... I think it is the milk....

Popularcontrarian · 08/12/2016 16:53

Sounds like the little one was having a bit of party in there at the time Seahawk, hopefully the next two weeks fly by. I've my NIPT appointment next Thursday so I reckon I won't get the results before Christmas.

I'm the same with tea and coffee BeamReach, they give me terrible reflux which makes my nausea way worse. Gross.

Notyetthere · 08/12/2016 16:53

Beam I haven't had tea for over 3 weeks now. Thinking about it, I am not drinking any hot drinks at the moment. Only ice cold water will do.

Sea it must have been lovely to see baby. I now can't wait for mine on Monday and hoping things are progressing well. When will you get your harmony results? Do you intend to find out if you are having a boy or girl?

Thanks - it's so good to see - and we heard he heartbeat for the first time which was just magical!

Not I was tempted to at the the last minute but always said I would want a surprise so said no. Also think DH thinks it will limit shopping opportunities Grin I am really surprised how many clothes are pink or blue and so obviously boy / girl! I guess so many people find out these days.

mummycaitlin · 08/12/2016 17:30

So at 7+2 (date bought back at EPU, even though LMP puts me at 9+5 so I recon I'm about 8 ish really) .... I think I've 'popped'. This is my second baby and I expected to show earlier, but geez, not this early! I was about 16 weeks when I started showing last time!

MummyCaitlin cute bump! I can't wait to have one so I can get some maternity trousers and not worry about just looking bloated!

It's all a bit quiet for me at the moment. I had the early private scan which was very exciting but now not seeing the midwife until I'm 10+2! My first official appointment with anyone. I have some forms to fill in before I go too, so I'll have to get in to collect them before then. Hope my 12 week scan isn't too late, looking forward to seeing the little one again soon!

Spindelina · 08/12/2016 18:36

First pregnancy, my 12 week scan was NYE. That was well-timed! This time, my EDD is five days later, so I suspect I'll not get it done till Jan.

parsnips82 · 08/12/2016 19:55

For those suffering from nausea (aren't we the lucky ones) I have just got some wrist bands things that give acupuncture that is definitely taking the edge off = I am never ever taking them off. Any relief is amazing!!!

whyistherumgone · 08/12/2016 20:23

wow I feel really behind, I'm so jealous of everyone who has had a scan so already, the next two weeks are going to drag for me I can tell!

congrats to everyone who has had a scan and heard the heartbeat, hope everything continues to go OK. I had a little bit of nausea a few weeks ago but it seems to come on very sporadically and is mainly in the form
of spontaneous gagging. particularly good when you're out and about haha.

whyistherumgone · 08/12/2016 20:26

ah mama that's such a cute bump. I'm actually looking forward to getting one so I don't just look a bit tubby like I do now!

CatRash · 08/12/2016 20:44

Aw great news Seahawk!! Shame about the photos but I'd be happy just knowing everything is ok!

I don't want to find out the sex either. I'm crap with surprises - I will peek at Xmas presents if I know where they're hidden. Cannot help myself! So this is one thing that I can actually make a surprise!! Also will curb unnecessary spending as we need to save hard for when I'm on maternity leave as I'm the higher earner.

Although my OH wants to know... Will hVe to seriously weigh up the pros and cons I think!

Oh god well it's definitely my husband's baby and we're not related. Ugh can't believe midwives hear the related one a lot - how grim!

whyistherumgone · 08/12/2016 21:50

My other half wants to find out if we get to that point - i dont really mind, as long as it's healthy in there I'm happy!
I know what you mean about spending though cat

TinklingTheIvories · 08/12/2016 21:57

Cat - we said it as a joke, that we have the same last name because we're married not because we're brother and sister. She said that she was going to ask that in a moment! We were in shock!! Genuinely couldn't believe that it happens!

Fattycowagain · 08/12/2016 22:06

I'm having my first appointment next Tuesday. I wonder how far along I actually am and if I can stay in this club, or will have to move to August. Last period started October 12, but I only got a positive test this morning...

Popularcontrarian · 08/12/2016 22:09

As far as I know the 'are you related to one another' question is standard, I was also asked it along with a million other questions that she flew through at a mile a minute. Had to do a double take as I thought what she meant by the question is 'are you married to your husband?'

I thought for a moment you were related if you were married, which you're not, you're just married!

Make sense?!

Seahawk80 · 08/12/2016 22:37

cat the thing that made me want a surprise is that both my sisters had caesareans, if you know the sex it's like we're having a boy, on Wednesday. It just didn't feel as exciting as when we didn't know. Also I think it will be nice towards the end to still be trying to guess who's in there. I'm terrible with surprises too so really want to keep this one!

CatRash · 09/12/2016 08:05

Fattycow had you got negatives before then or just not POAS before then?

Haha Popular I see what you mean! I think I'd make the same mistake - especially as it seemd this pregnancy had knocked a good 30 points off my IQ! Anyone feel like they got dumber? I'm guessing this is what is referred to as 'baby brain!'!

Yes Seahawk I think the guessing will be fun!!! I will welcome any and all old wives tales too! Might even run sweepstake with friends and family haha!

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 09/12/2016 08:24

catrash tell me about it! Ive managed to convince work I am stressed from studying (I am doing a degree part time on top of work), I think so far they have accepted it. The other day I was trying to give somebody some information, had several long 'uuuh' pauses between sentences before they said 'do you want some time to think about that and send me an email?' it was really simple stuff!
