Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Bit of an odd question but I'd be interested in people's thoughts:

I'm seeing my therapist tomorrow for the last time before the new year, but should I tell her I'm pregnant?

Part of me would rather keep it between myself & DH for a little longer, especially as I'm only 4 weeks. Assuming everything's still progressing as it should when I see her in the new year then I will tell her.
Is it weird that I would want to keep this secret from her, even if it's only for this one session?
I guess I feel a bit like telling anyone at the mo might be tempting fate...

sandsandwiches · 19/12/2016 18:27

Congrats fields that's exciting Grin

Guess it depends how you feel brainfried if you want to wait then don't see any reason waiting till new year is a problem unless you think it would benefit the discussions you're having already...

Massive sympathies to fellow nausea sufferers. I've had it couple of weeks but was on annual leave so coping by eating little and often and sleeping a lot. Was due back at work Friday but been off sick all weekend after fainting on Friday & unable to keep anything down. GP reluctant to give any meds at that point as thought might be bit infectious too (had bad stomach on hols). I am keeping a lot of things down now so called work today to say I'd be back in tomorrow but as soon as called was sick again and slept 3hours this afternoon.. really not sure I can manage a ten hour shift tomorrow Sad I think it's all just preg related now though so not really sure I can take more time off. How are the other n&v ppl coping with work?

sandsandwiches · 19/12/2016 18:28

Ps if you pm socially she sent me the link to the fb group...

Lixon · 19/12/2016 18:28

It's up to you entirely brain, I always feel like telling health professionals is completely different to colleagues etc so have told a physio, my therapist and various nurses/doctors etc without thinking twice but if it doesn't impact your treatment and you'd rather wait I don't think there's any harm in giving it a few more weeks.

Welcome to everyone new and congratulations on your pregnancies :)

And field massive congratulations, you must be so excited and relieved! What lovely news just before Christmas :)

I have a scan at 6w6 booked for Thurs but am expecting the worst/that I might just be too early...

Denna81 · 19/12/2016 18:33

Hello!

hoping I can join? I've been lurking for a bit. Faint positives since last Thursday and am now 4+1 by my estimation with an EDD of 27/08. I've spent most of the last 5 days obsessing over whether tests are getting darker by the day.

I previously had a mmc with and unplanned pregnancy and we have just started trying again for #1.

Congratulations Fields, that is so exciting! I can't wait to have a scan, the wait seems excruciating not sure if it's worse for being over Christmas when time seems to slow down! I so far only have my booking in appointment date on January 16th... forever away.

I don't think you should feel pressure to share anything Brain even if it is your therapist - people can know when you are ready to tell them.

In terms of tempting fate, I had the same concern about telling my mum and then had a bit of a meltdown after an incident at my work last week and blurted it out. In my rational mind I try to remind myself that tempting fate isn't a thing and for the most part our actions don't dictate how these things go. :)

Fieldsandgrasses · 19/12/2016 18:45

Thank you so much. MMC last pregnancy so cautiously optimistic. Just shattered but I've been worrying so much and then did some Xmas shopping so not surprising. Not sure when to tell my husband. I think he'll find the idea of twins terrifying.

IntoTheWoods84 · 19/12/2016 18:46

Yay fields - glad all is okay! Hello all you new folk! Lots of us now :-)

Morning sickness finally got me this week - my dates are a bit off but I'm 7.5 wks. Still cramping, still got sore boobs and achey back too - what fun! Helps to know there are others feeling equally grim - gotta grit our teeth I guess!

Fattycowagain · 19/12/2016 18:47

Welcome to all the new ladies!

Can you please cross your fingers for me tomorrow afternoon? I have an appointment with the midwife to see if the blot she spotted last week has grown. Might even spot a heartbeat this time!
Going by the size of the blot she saw last week and the day I got a positive test, she thinks I'm about 6 weeks tomorrow. Hard to know for sure, as my cycles were all over the place...

firsttimer12345 · 19/12/2016 19:00

Twins!!! Amazing fields!!!

We are having an early scan on Wednesday when I'll be 6 +6, so nervous about it already.

Welcome lovely new ladies xxx

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 19/12/2016 19:40

Congrats, fields!

And good luck fattycow! I'll have everything crossed for you.

If anyone wants to join the Facebook group just pm me your email address and I'll send you an invite. You're all welcome!

Fieldsandgrasses · 19/12/2016 20:08

I will say that my husband took it much better than expected!

Fieldsandgrasses · 19/12/2016 20:08

Fingers crossed FattyCow!

ThatsALovelyBush · 19/12/2016 20:20

Can I join you all? BFP on Saturday after nearly 12 months TTC! It feels all very weird, but good weird, if that makes sense.

I'm 4 weeks today and due 30th August. Feeling tired, permanently hungry and occasional cramps. Hoping the morning sickness holds off until after Christmas. Booking appointment at the doctors scheduled for 4th Jan, feels like ages off!

thenorthernluce · 19/12/2016 20:34

I've hit exactly seven weeks today, and boy do I feel different! In the space of a week, I've gone from tiredness and tender breasts to nausea and dizziness and exhaustion. All I want is beige food!

Despite seeing my GP two weeks ago, I still haven't received a booking appointment yet. Should I be worried? I know Christmas gets in the way of things, but I'm quite an anxious person anyway and don't want to be left hanging. I've already phoned the GP surgery, who told me they've made the referral, but nada.

ZigAZigAhh · 19/12/2016 21:23

Congratulations fields and good luck Fattycow! Welcome to everyone else, so lovely to see the group growing and growing Smile

I'm 5 weeks today and called my GP to see what I needed to do. They said I had to make an appointment to see them but the earliest they can see me is on 21 Jan when I will be 8.5 weeks. Should I be pushing for an earlier appointment? I honestly can't remember when I first saw the GP with DS1, I think it was around the 7-8 week mark...

Cocochops · 19/12/2016 21:54

zig can you refer yourself to the hospital that's what is done here but guess it varies from area to area. I think you probably will be ok. I will be nearly 10 weeks by time I have my booking appt without seeing anyone. Still plenty of time to get scan booked before 12 weeks.

ZigAZigAhh · 19/12/2016 22:02

Thanks Coco - I did ask but they said I had to see the GP first. I'm sure you're right, there will still be loads of time for the booking appointment etc. It just seems like such a long time away!

MrsG280516 · 19/12/2016 22:17

Zig should be fine unless you're on any medication that might need reviewing, in that case if push for an appointment much sooner.
