Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

Key it's awful. I was sick when I came home from work today and dh brought me a glass of water. I just stared at it. Three hours later I've only just finished it. It's like it's not worth it to eat and drink things that will only come up. But yeah, I do get thirsty.

kezmarie · 14/12/2016 21:59

I do that with food, I know I'm hungry but the thought and the look of food puts me off.
Went food shopping today and everything just looked disgusting.. managed some dry toast when I got home though as I was starving.
As long we are eating little and often and drinking what we can... I've never had this problem with food! Ever!

ThirdThoughts · 14/12/2016 22:23

jaffacakes my estimate is 21st August which puts me at 4 weeks pregnant.

whoateallthejaffacakes · 14/12/2016 22:38

have updated you third, will repost when there are a few more updates as have the list saved in docs on my phone lol.
im 6wks 2mro by my dates & feel dizzy when i stand up, not much of an appetite although polished off 4 slices of dominos pizza tonight. i usually have a real sweet tooth but am struggling to even eat a chocolate bar, so not like me! struggling a little with water too but forcing it otherwise get headaches. work is exhausting come early afternoon & keeping it secret from them til after christmas/possibly 12wks. finding it difficult to get a full night sleep as 2yr old keeps wakening up with night terrors. it can only get better, right? lol

ThirdThoughts · 14/12/2016 22:39

I went out for a run this evening (30 mins, not far and run/walk/run) as I hadn't been out for a few weeks because I was busy with work and fell out of the habit after c25k ended.

I worried that if I didn't start before nausea/sickness sets in then I'd not get back into it and my fledgling fitness would slip. And given my size, I really want to stay fit. I got myself a bike a few weeks ago and have been enjoying that and my plan is to join the local pool in January to go swimming regularly. I had planned to do a novice triathlon event in June, (then a half-marathon in August) but I think I'll leave the events now. I'd like to still try for a modified version of training schedule
e.g. Weekly
Swim x 2
Cycle x 2
Run x 2
But without the intensity/duration e.g. run/walk intervals, then brisk walking when running feels too much.

Any advice from those with more exercise experience? I was hoping to build up, but I'm happy with just staying active.

I'm now hoping bean is lodged securely!

firsttimer12345 · 14/12/2016 23:04

That sounds fab Third. Hopefully you'll motivate me to keep up the exercise. I had been running a few times a week although not too far as I had bunion surgery a little while ago and it's still isn't right!

I've been doing workout dvds since it got a little colder but I think a run might be on the cards tomorrow!

ThirdThoughts · 14/12/2016 23:28

Workout DVDs would make sense as a backup given it might get slippy at this time of year... do you have any recommendations?

I just know that pregnancy would give me an excuse to fall into my couch potato habits but I know it would be so much better for my health and little bean's to keep active.

Brainfried1986 · 15/12/2016 03:30

Urgh. Well I hope this isn't a sign of things to come...
I've been struggling to sleep all night - can't get comfortable at all, and feel hotter than usual too.
I know some of it might be mental as I'm still adjusting to the idea of being pregnant - but I could really do with being able to relax and sleep.
Hoping I get more sleep than this over the next 9 months... I'm also hoping I get some of the tiredness symptoms as then I might be able to fall asleep more easily!

EDD 29th August 2017

Lizziedoll · 15/12/2016 03:52

Same here! I never had problems sleeping until I fell pregnant. Nausea woke me up and ive been sick twice Sad

Brainfried1986 · 15/12/2016 05:01

Yeah, I've had a bit of a cold so been coughing which is making me feel like I might throw up :(
Feel like I've gone from nothing to loads of symptoms in less than 24hrs! Wondering how much is pshycosomatic...not that that matters ultimately as I still feel rubbish!

Bryonie2017 · 15/12/2016 05:32

This morning sickness is awful! I was fine last week and now I feel sick all the time. I was so sick and dizzy I couldn't go to work yesterday and I really need to go in today so I am currently making toast after my first vomit of the day!

Oggy88 · 15/12/2016 06:37

I don't really have any symptoms apart from 4 am insomnia and then overall fatigue. I don't know, perhaps it's still too early (4+4), but it's making me slightly worried. Wish there was at least something, just to feel pregnant!

Kirstyinnorway · 15/12/2016 06:41

I'm not really feeling any symptoms yet (but only 3+4) but I've recently been a bit funny about eating anything creamy - I eat porridge for breakfast every weekday and it's had to be toast the last couple of days which doesn't keep me full for very long!

Good work on that mammoth list jaffa! Shock

Kirstyinnorway · 15/12/2016 06:42

Ditto oggy, I'll probably regret this but I'd love a bit of nausea or something now... It would make me feel preggo!

Sparklyuggs · 15/12/2016 07:04

Be careful what you wish for with nausea and vomiting!! My best friend had none and her LO is 8 months, we're all different. Some women don't get it until later in the first trimester. I started vomiting at 4w and haven't stopped :(

Kez you're right, typo on my part. 7+4 for my first scan. I was desperate to have it earlier but knew I'd be a wreck if I went at 5/6 weeks and got told to come back to see a heartbeat so I wanted to wait as long as I could.

Kirstyinnorway · 15/12/2016 07:09

Oh yes, I know we're all different - I'm just super anxious as I'm so early on and it would almost make me feel better if I just felt something. Hope your nausea passes very soon.

Sparklyuggs · 15/12/2016 07:24

kirsty I get you, I actually said to my best friend when I was throwing up at her house 'you're so lucky you didn't have this'll and she replied 'trust me the anxiety of not feeling sick is just as bad'.

I'm an expat too, makes it easier to hide the pregnancy Smile

oatybiscuits · 15/12/2016 07:46

Morning ladies, I had my booking in yesterday and my EDD is 3rd August. Glad we can eat smoked salmon although so far fish has been my only food aversion so we'll see when it's under my nose! My sense of smell has gone nuts, to the extent that it sometimes keeps me awake Confused Although last night it was ds, I swear he was up every 5 minutes! He slept through the night last week for the first time in his life but obviously it was just a tease.
Nausea hasn't been too bad but it's worse when I'm tired.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 15/12/2016 07:52

Be careful what you wish for ladies! Last time I had no bad symptoms until 8 weeks when it hit me like a truck. My nausea started then and got better at 24 weeks when I stopped losing weight but my appetite wasn't 100% until after I had the baby. Everyone else was eating entire cakes and I could still barely eat my meals.

Oggy88 · 15/12/2016 08:13

I know what you mean and I am sure I will regret saying this as soon as it hits! I'm just anxious for no reason.

We are visiting my family in Germany tomorrow, so they will be the first we officially tell! So excited! I think it will start feeling more real then.

Lixon · 15/12/2016 08:37

Morning everyone and welcome to the new people including kirsty and third - feel like there's been a big flurry of activity in the last few days. Thanks for your excellent tracking Jaffa and so sorry to hear about your past experience sunny Flowers- hopefully having a forum to vent worries helps a bit.

I'm also having trouble sleeping so was up from 3.30- at least 6, work today will be interesting :/ I'm also anxious and decided to PoaS but now feel worse as CB digi says 2-3 weeks still when I should be 4 (ie 6w) so feel like I may be on verge of another miscarriage. Trying not to dwell on anything until scan next week but also stupidly wishing for some sickness..

I'm intrigued by the thyroid/miscarriage links - what levels of levothyroxine are others on? I've had 2 miscarriages and the first time was taking none (subsequently diagnosed) the second time taking my standard 25mg but after getting blood tests results back already in the midst of my miscarriage was told dose needed to increase. Wonder if there may be a link or if my levels are not low enough - No one has mentioned it as a potential factor and I've been seeing gynaecologists etc, although don't get referred for miscarriage investigation until my third in my NHS trust.

ThirdThoughts · 15/12/2016 09:25

Good Morning Lixon sorry to hear about your losses. Here are some links to Thyroid UK's information about hypothyroid (and other thyroid disorders) and pregnancy).

www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_the_thyroid/pregnancy-guidelines.html
www.btf-thyroid.org/projects/pregnancy/202-thyroid-in-pregnancy-information

Hoping you get the treatment you need to keep you and your pregnancy healthy this time around. I'm on 150 of levothyroxine, that was upped to 175 during my last pregnancy and back down after. They haven't altered my dosage in response to blood tests in ages. Sometimes I feel that I could use a little higher a dose (I felt loads better after pregnancy before the dosage was dropped at my 6 week appointment) but overall I'm glad its being treated at least as much as it is.

I asked my GP's receptionist about whether I need an appointment with my GP to get it raised and she said the midwives would request it. I'm waiting to hear back after self-referring myself to the midwife service, but the first thing I will ask for is for them to increase my dosage, and last time I was given an early scan (I think 8 weeks) to check for mmc.

Lizziedoll · 15/12/2016 09:35

Trust me ladies, you do not want nausea/morning sickness. I am dying over here. Spent Monday in hospital and I'm still off work and being sick constantly

ThirdThoughts · 15/12/2016 09:42

Urgh Lizziedoll that sounds really rough, I hope you feel better soon.

It's early days for me (4 weeks) I'm feeling a little queasy but I'm trying to get as much as possible done before nausea/sickness sets in. I've got one more piece of work to complete and send off, then I want to make sure I'm on top of the housework, and maybe get some help to get the allotment low maintenance for next year (something I had wanted to do anyway, but all the more important now) by edging the beds and covering the paths.

Heatherbaby · 15/12/2016 10:04

jaffacakes what a list! Thanks for including me, my due date is also 10 Aug though this may change at the dating scan!

I'm exactly 6 weeks today and morning sickness started yesterday with a bang. This involved me throwing up at my desk in the bin of my open plan office. I had to go home at lunch!

I haven't gone in this morning because I could feel the nausea. I absolutely hate this feeling... how do people still go to work? Has anyone found any decent cures? I can stand to eat or drink anything.

I'm so scared this will last 6 weeks or more Sad
