Wow can't believe I'm here 😁 I had a look, but couldn't see any other threads. Hopefully I won't be alone.

This will be our second baby. DS is 3.... 4 in january. EDD should be about 2nd August I think.

Hope I'm not alone for too long!

They must boom early here as I am down to see the midwife on December 30th which is 8 weeks ish!

alexnorthernireland1 · 05/12/2016 23:28

Thanks girls and welcome to the new mummy's :) I am not high risk but I'm trying to stop the expressing for obvious reasons - any tips?? Xx

Bryonie2017 · 06/12/2016 05:42

whoateallthejaffacakes My husband was the same which is why it's a Christmas present, it saved the argument/discussion about how It's an emotions thing not a logic thing. It depends on finances obviously but if that's the kind of money that would be reasonable to spent on a present it might be worth a shot.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 06/12/2016 07:09

Alex I'm so sorry. Flowers I don't know what the answer to your question is but I only stoped breastfeeding a few weeks ago and still produce a bit of milk, and I know women who've breastfeed a toddler all the way through pregnancy and everything has been fine.

My problems are nothing compared to yours but I saw midwives yesterday. Not for booking but for "registration." They need to refer me to a consultant ASAP which is why my GP wanted me to go so early. (For anyone who hasn't read upthread). It was awful. My first pregnancy was healthy and my birth was completely uncomplicated but then I got diagnosed with stupid underactive thyroid. The midwives I saw said "they wouldn't like me to have another home birth" which upset me more than it should have considering I know they're wrong. They weren't very familiar with my condition and I'd heard the exact opposite from the experienced GP I saw and other women on my antenatal group from last time, who had similar health histories. Anyway, after a good nights sleep I do feel much better but I'm still sad that this time is going to be so much harder than last time. I look back on my pregnancy with my ds as a good time in my life.

And yes to the crying! I cried at the appointment yesterday but I also cried at a episode of How I Met Your Mother. Confused

sandsandwiches · 06/12/2016 08:33

Hi all. Can I join please. Just turned 6 weeks and due end July/beg Aug (not sure exact date) but dd1 was 2 weeks late so more likely to be august! I was on July bus but it's all a bit ahead for me. Everyone's looking at prams and had scans whereas I still can't believe it's real and don't think I will for a while! Still feel super nervous & sway between nausea and panic over no symptoms... this will be my 2nd. Have a dd1 who is 2 in Jan.

Sorry to hear some of you having such difficult times. Alex you can get a medication that dries up supply but not sure if you can take it when pregnant - could be worth a chat with your GP. Or the la leche helpline. I had great advice from them when struggled with bf dd1. They'll know the reverse too I'd think.
Sorry your midwife wasnt very helpful socially. Hopefully they can reassess more sensibly further down the line...

MrsG280516 · 06/12/2016 08:52

Well I had my GP appointment this morning and needn't have bothered really, I could have just booked straight in with the midwife. Next available appointment is 18th January and I'll be 10+1 by then so pretty late imo!!

Sparklyuggs · 06/12/2016 08:52

Nice to see more people on here!
I went to the doc to be signed off uni as I've been feeling so unwell. He prescribed me cyclizine and wrote hyperemesis but I feel confused- I'm not throwing up multiple times a day just constant nausea so I feel a bit of a fraud if that makes sense?

I've got a friend's wedding on Saturday and I can't decide whether I'm well enough. I desperately want to go but have been a zombie recently, and I'd need to fly in on the morning of the wedding and flying has been making me feel worse, but hopefully the drugs will make me feel better. I also really don't want to have to tell anyone why I'm not going. Any thoughts?

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 06/12/2016 09:45

Sparkly you are not a fraud! It's really good that you are getting treatment early. There is nothing to gain from waiting until you are severely dehydrated or vomiting to get help.

ClaraLane · 06/12/2016 10:00

MrsG I had the same thing with my GP, no point in me bothering to go really! I'm seeing the midwife on 9th Jan and I'll be 10+6. I asked about how this would impact on my 12 week scan and she said it would be fine and you don't have to see the midwife until you're between 10 and 14 weeks!

According to the ever reliable internet calculators, I am 10 Aug. Will update with proper medical estimate when have one!

thisismee · 06/12/2016 13:17

Thanks Jaffa for adding me to the list.

Hi to any new posters.

Just back from an early bird midwife appointment. Got given maternity notes that need to be filled in before booking in appointment on 21st. General information for dos and don'ts in pregnancy, scan information and screening they offer. All feeling more real now. Will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Hope everyone is feeling ok, I'm just so tired . Had few waves of nausea, nothing like last pregnancy. However I'm sure there's still time for the sickness train to hit Confused

Blink1982 · 06/12/2016 14:39

My god the nausea. I've whittled it down to the milk in my tea and vaping that makes it worse so I've bought some lozenges, mints and ginger stuff today.

alexnorthernireland1 · 06/12/2016 14:43

I'm about the 9th of August X

ClaraLane · 06/12/2016 15:34

My nausea hasn't been so bad today Blink however throwing up at 11.30 last night was a particular low-light of this pregnancy Hmm Having one of my two "allowed" portions of salmon tonight and I can't wait Grin

alexnorthernireland1 · 06/12/2016 16:11

First day in a week I haven't felt sick or been sick- hope I haven't jinxed it!! Some boobs and head / back! Hope your having a lovely day guys X

alexnorthernireland1 · 06/12/2016 16:59

ClaraLane · 06/12/2016 17:01

Thanks Alex, very jealous of your hot water bottle and bed! I'm watching Friends with the cats but think I should get my hot water bottle and blanket!

alexnorthernireland1 · 06/12/2016 17:25

firsttimer12345 · 06/12/2016 17:42
