We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

Thanks, KitKat :) My midwife suggested that too. Think I might do some circuits of the house.

StubbleTurnips · 19/11/2016 09:19

Good luck Esk! Get moving up and down the stairs.

EllenDegenerate · 19/11/2016 09:36

Good morning everybody I have literally not been able to post on the threads for ages despite following you all;

Finally finished work with two weeks to go til planned c section date on 2nd December.
Still team yellow.

Congratulations to all early and recent arrivals, hope youre next Esk, fingers crossed Smile

Chookchick · 19/11/2016 10:00

Good luck Esk, Just to mention a couple of my friends and my NCT tutor say 90% of mum's got into labour naturally after 48 hours, it's the NHS which likes 24 hours. If I was well (no temp, no bleeding) and I'd gone over 24 hours I wouldn't be rushing, but then I'm trying to avoid intervention! Very personal choice but don't be frightened of doing something different if it feels right. Exciting times!

Theaks · 19/11/2016 10:05

Ooooo good luck

Eskerina81 · 19/11/2016 10:15

Thanks chook, I didn't know that. No intervention is my preference too so hopefully the hospital will be flexible.

Bigfam · 19/11/2016 10:22

Hope you start contracting and get to have a home birth Esk keep as active as possible, rock on your hands and knees, side step up the stairs, keep walking... Do you have a birthing ball?

SolomanDaisy · 19/11/2016 11:31

Good luck esk. The same happened with me with DS and I was given a choice of two local hospitals to go to if I didn't get into active labour quickly enough, one had a 24 hour deadline and one 48 hours. Luckily I went into labour and got a home birth!

SouthDownsSunshine · 19/11/2016 12:51

Good luck Esk! I hope those contractions appear soon.

I managed to get some sleep in the end last night. These hours of lying awake are miserable and pointless!

Nojo82 · 19/11/2016 13:24

Shattered today. Went into the pharmacy to see if there was anything i could take for sore ears throat and head. Apart from paracetamol theres nothing. Only throaties. Was hoping to b able to take lemsip but no!! Totally miserable now. Thankfully the boys have settled to watch a movie..

happydays00 · 19/11/2016 14:15

Fingers crossed for you esk!!

nojo why can't we take lemsip?! I'm feeling dreadful today and was literally just about to make a lemsip sachet Sad

goinggrey1978 · 19/11/2016 14:19

Nojo82, i have a really sore throat too, good to know we are allowed to take sore throat lozenges though

Londonmamabychance · 19/11/2016 14:33

Eskerina sending good luck and positive thoughts your way! Hopefully contractions start soon and the labour will go well. Exciting!

Nojo and everyone else suffering with colds, hope you get better soon! It's awful having a bad cold when pregnant as we can't take anything! I'd really recommend saltwater nose spray though, it's safe and really helps. Also honey and Liters of herbal tea/warm milk! I had a bad cold early in pregnancy and took my normal Sudafed nose spray only to realise later you're not meant to, and have been stressing all pregnancy about the fact that I used it loads for like two weeks in the first trimester and if it could have caused damage. Nothing I can do about it now, but just if you didn't know, salt water is the only thing we're allowed!

I slept til 2pm today!!!!! Last week completely knocked me out, first week on mat leave, and then DD has been ill and was home alone with her all day all week and had to carry her up and down 5 floors whenever we went out due to broken lift. She's going through an exhausting phase of terrible two's and protests everything and nothing and was whiny because of the cold. Also had to sort loss of house stuff so she watched way to much CBeebies. This morning I just said to DH you have to take her and he took her out and they're only just returning now, apparently DD is finally asleep in her buggy. Oh, and my lift got fixed last night!! So feel slightly better today about everything, was hitting a wall of exhaustion yesterday.

Nojo82 · 19/11/2016 14:57

happy the pharmacist just said no. I was surprised coz its only got paracetamol in it. Its just totally horrible. Trying to drink plenty of fluids. I dont like tea or coffee so ive hot choc in for us to have later..

london i took sudafed earlier in pregnancy. Only twice then realised we cant have it..

So looking forward to b back to normal, to b able to sleep on my tummy again, this has been by far my worst pregnancy yet. And with DS1 i wa sick for the entire pregnancy..

OrianaBanana · 19/11/2016 15:26

I thought lemsip had decongestant in it Confused although someone told me paracetamol was a decongestant too so maybe that's just as good? I'm really hoping I can avoid a cold now for the next few weeks, so horrible Flowers

SouthDownsSunshine · 19/11/2016 18:02

Lemsip has a decongestant in it. I've been taking paracetamol, plus honey and lemon, and glycerine throat sweets.

I'm pleased you've got your lift fixed and a long sleep in London.

Nojo82 · 19/11/2016 22:43

The throaties are now giving me heartburn.. feel so low at the min. I can hardly move, im in so much pain and now it seems like this is turning into flu.. lying upright in bed dreading the night ahead. Ive stockpiled my bedside cabinet with throaties, gavisgon, tissues and water. Praying for a good night..

Eskerina81 · 20/11/2016 03:36

Baby Esk arrived safely at 10:15pm weighing 3.14 kg. Another one for Team Blue :) Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I did end up at the hospital but luckily a sweep got things going without the need for a full induction.

nightcap · 20/11/2016 04:07

Huge congratuatuons esk!! Glad the sweep did the job and hope all went well.

And nojo I hope you're asleep right now - I've got heartburn and a really annoying cough so have just been necking gaviscon (it's SO disgusting) but have given up on trying to get to sleep. Going to sit up reading for a while then try again. Sympathies to anyone else who's up right now!

Chookchick · 20/11/2016 04:09

Awwww great news Esk! Congratulations on your baby boy! X

SouthDownsSunshine · 20/11/2016 05:02

Congratulations Esk! That's a good weight for 37 weeks as well. I hope you're both doing well.

Sorry to hear you're getting the flu nojo. Rest and take care of yourself.

Gales down here tonight, very glad baby is staying put and not having to do a dash to hospital in this weather! Somehow dd and dh are sleeping through them.

barkingtreefrog · 20/11/2016 05:33

Congratulations Esk Grin Really glad you didn't need an induction.

I'm being punished for my smugness. Had a couple of nights of not bad sleep after moving to the spare room. Wasn't sleeping through but managed to get back to sleep each time I woke up. Seems tonight I'm back to the usual insomnia since 3.45. Tried everything!!!!

Bigfam · 20/11/2016 07:11

Glad the sweep worked esk & congratulations. I'd just come on to check if you had posted too! Smile
