We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

Hope the results come back quickly babydreaming

I'm stuck on the names front, DS has a top ten name but it's a classic and I've loved t forever, it's also DH, DB and my DF's middle name so nice family connection. Want to go slightly more out there this time!

Nojo82 · 18/11/2016 18:31

Hope all goes well baby.

Did someone say they got the babymoov. Ive just ordered one. What are they like?

Think im coming down with flu.. feel awful.. so being lazy and have ordered pizza..

Bigfam · 18/11/2016 19:11

I know these niggly pains are going to go on for weeks and drive me round the bloody bend. Who's stupid idea was it for pregnancy to last 40 weeks?!

Lol bigfam. At least we aren't elephants.. 2 years for them Shock..

Bigfam · 18/11/2016 19:26

Well if I was an elephant I'd be a nun. I'm now imagining an elephant sized chastity belt 😆 🐘

40 weeks is sooooo long, and the first 2 weeks don't even count really!

nojo it was me that has the babymoov one. It looks pretty good, dh was impressed and he's very rarely impressed by baby things! But let's see how dd takes to it. ...

Nojo82 · 18/11/2016 20:05

south they do look great. I was worried about putting him straight into the cotbed and wanted something to keep him snug. Should get it tomorrow. From reading the reviews baby tends to sleep better..

billabye · 18/11/2016 20:09

I've also gut the babymoov. I wanted the purflo nest but managed to pick up the babymoov for £26 so went with that. It looks great but I suppose time will tell.

StubbleTurnips · 18/11/2016 20:20

Nojo I'm the size of an elephant if that counts Grin

Had my 36w appt today, asked the midwife about induction after the consultant said they wouldn't induce until 30th Dec if I'm over - I'd cried quite a lot about it. She seemed a bit more positive about inducing before Christmas if we're going to negotiate.

I'm currently cleaning the house, kitchen was sending me over the edge so I'm scrubbing cupboards.

happydays00 · 18/11/2016 20:31

We've been pregnant for every season of this year - it's just too long!! I can't even contemplate how I will manage if I go overdue - I suspect there will be a large emotional breakdown that DP will get the brunt of Confused

DartmoorDoughnut · 18/11/2016 20:55

I miss my feet

Nojo82 · 18/11/2016 21:03

turnips wat is ur due date? Just wondering as im due christmas day and wouls like induced before if anything..

Bigfam · 18/11/2016 21:16

I miss my non swollen vagina...
It feels like I've been kicked several times. I've got an awful feeling that for the first time, I'll reach my due date & beyond 😢

StubbleTurnips · 18/11/2016 21:49

Nojo I'm due 16th Dec, so consultant said 14 days post that Sad

It's causing me grief as our mat policy changes on the 31st Dec, I have an email from HR saying if baby comes on or after that I lose my maternity package. It's really causing me a lot of stress! I'm not sure they can legally do it but have got a query outstanding with the legal team, doesn't mean they can't try and then I have to fight it with a newborn Shock

Nojo82 · 18/11/2016 21:53

Oh god turnip that sounds awful. You need to try and push for the induction then.. suppose ill only b a week over by tbe 30th dec so not too bad.

SouthDownsSunshine · 19/11/2016 01:42

Despite spending the day exhausted, once again I'm wide awake. Dd is actually sleeping nicely tonight for the first time in weeks and I can't sleep. So frustrating.

happydays00 · 19/11/2016 02:48

Oh, insomnia Sad

south hope you have been able to get back to sleep - that is so frustrating!

Surf25 · 19/11/2016 04:46

Am awake too! Frustrating indeed, especially when there is no chance to catch up during the day. Oh well. Dc3 has a temperature but seems to have settled back to sleep so at least it is quiet again! turnip that does sound very stressful, although rather dodgy from a legal point of view as you say the last thing one wants with a new baby is a legal bun fight over maternity pay! Glad the midwife was optimistic about negotiating an earlier date- hopefully they would be the ones to book you in if and when it comes to it?! That tends to be what happens here once you are overdue they just plan ahead for 11 days post dates. Fingers crossed baby will come before then!

Bumbleclat · 19/11/2016 05:00

stubble that sounds very stressful, is it just a case of age who shouts the loudest? I hope you can have your babe before then.

Insomnia is so very annoying. Having worked a 40 hour week with 30 coughing infants on maximum 4 hours sleep a night, I really (naively) thought that I would be sleeping through tonight.

I don't really know what's woken me up unless it's this cold and baby kicks, I've taken paracetamol (new staple part of my diet) and am up thinking that our house is very cold at night and worrying the cold air will get on baby's chest.

daisychain07 · 19/11/2016 08:12

Here you all are! Place marking. 2 weeks left at work. Bump has definitely dropped this week, I can breathe again!!! Congratulations on new arrivals sorry I haven't posted for a while, teaching full time is draining me but I am still keeping up with the thread (now I have found the new one!)x

OrianaBanana · 19/11/2016 08:18

Stubble Are you in a Union? If so I'd get them on the case. Surely it's the date your mat leave starts that counts rather than the birth date?

Feeling a bit better today here, limited insomnia (sorry to those sufferingSad) and the SPD is thankfully a bit better, although DH is stressy, anxious and low and keeps making pronouncements of Doom so I have to keep my spirits up. And the thought of going 42 weeks again is not helping!

barkingtreefrog · 19/11/2016 08:36

dreaming hope the weekend goes quickly for you and you get some answers on Monday Thanks

We've got names, as we wanted to book cheap easyjet flights for next Easter as soon as they came out - there were only 2 left at the price so when we got to the page where we had to enter details and realised we would have to add the name of the baby, we had to make a very quick decision! DH's choice is a very popular one, mine more old fashioned, given pressure of time I won! So I got the first name and he got the middle name. Both names are those of women in history we find inspirational as we weren't getting anywhere just thinking randomly!

Talking of elephants, my mum managed to pick up one of the big snuggle ones from Ikea!

stubble fingers crossed she arrives on time but I'm sure you'd have a good case if not.

I've got 11 days to go..... So very glad I've got a planned c section and know exactly when she's making an appearance. Bump + SPD pain is just getting more and more painful. Yesterday I couldn't find any position to sit in that wasn't painful, only thing I could do to relieve the pain was be on my knees leaning on the ball - not much you can do whilst in that position!!!
Also going stir crazy in the house as it's too painful to walk anywhere. It has highlighted to me the importance of finding lots of groups to go to and organising walking/coffee dates with friends after baby comes to stop me going totally demented with no adult company all day!!!

New december 2016 thread! Will there be arrivals on this thread I wonder?
StubbleTurnips · 19/11/2016 08:46

I'm a union officer for our branch Grin so I'm quite surprised they're trying it on. Had many conversations with our director about it, have no qualms about following the tribunal route (they know this) but the thought of doing it with a newborn really is doing my head in. It's a buyout situation so we're being 'levelled' to our larger company's t&c - which is SMP only.

They are adamant they can change it once I've gone on maternity without recourse. Could do without it to be honest. I can see them changing it, taking my package and leaving me to fight it whilst off.

We're sorted on names, DD chose one and told everyone. DH isn't keen but I'm not telling DD that her little brother isn't being called it.

Eskerina81 · 19/11/2016 09:01

Can you send some positive, contracty thoughts my way this morning - waters broke yesterday evening & I now have until tonight to get into established labour (& give birth at home), before I have to go & be induced in hospital. I'm having contractions but they're not very strong yet.

KitKat1985 · 19/11/2016 09:13

Oooh Eskerina fingers crossed you start contracting naturally. My labour this time around started the same way - waters broke at 3am but didn't start contracting until the afternoon. I think going for a walk helped a bit. May be worth a try?
