We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

I remember this from first time. I could not work out why he would not settle then I remembered that in hospital i held him most of the time and if was noisier and lighter than at home. Does this sound familiar? Just because they sleep on you for the next couple of weeks days does not mean anything. Until your milk properly comes in he wont be satisfied or xonforted for long at all.

Perhaps try to swaddle if you want to put him down, make sure the bed is warmish and don't beat yourself up, you're doing the best you can. He's learning just as much as you are.

Popskipiekin · 12/12/2016 07:38

Azure and lovewatching thank you for plug comments - didn't realise the bugger could grow back! Shock Good luck with sweep and thinking baby thoughts for you Azure. I've got my first sweep at 40+4 on Thursday, fingers crossed...

StubbleTurnips · 12/12/2016 07:41

duxb it's tough at this stage but you're doing a great job. Breastfeeding is bloody hard work.

Bumbleclat · 12/12/2016 12:03

stubble how are you all doing now?

What are you all wearing I'm this last bit? My lovely H&M maternity jeans are too restrictive now and my dresses are find but tights and bras really uncomfortable. No point in buying new stuff to wear because I'm 39 weeks on Wednesday but it's making me want to just stay in my PJs all day.

StubbleTurnips · 12/12/2016 13:08

bumble thanks for checking up Grin we all seem to have recovered-ish. DD is still off with me but is being very bossy so think she's back on track, DH is working at home. Just tiredness left now, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Plus there's a mountain of washing to boil Sad

I only dress to leave the house and then it's maternity yoga pants / leggings / tops, but mostly pjs.

Bumbleclat · 12/12/2016 13:35

Oh good- I was surprised by how knocked for six we all were, I slept Loads after it, so depleting but each day you feel better.

Thanks re: clothes, I am wearing a nice dress and jumper while at home with jogging bottoms (very nice!) if I go out I'll brave horrible maternity tights and boots.

duxb · 12/12/2016 20:11

Stubble glad you are on the mend - I can only imagine! And the comment about the washing is so apt, folllowing a crisis things like that really tip you over the edge.

Last night was one for the memory books of "first night after discharge struggles" and I'm not sure how we got through but we did. Feeding has been better today and I've grabbed an hours sleep whilst baby did. Will be keeping everything crossed that tonight we get some balance of feeding, changing, sleeping in as I imagine even an hour here and there will make the world of difference.

She's also lost some weight and health visitor is back tomorrow to re-weigh so fingers crossed she is putting some back on. Her jaundice scores were better today which is promising as we were potentially looking at a readmission tonight and after last night, the thought of being away from hubs was beyond upsetting.

However, if we wind up on a feeding plan then so be it.

Thankyou for the kindness after my last post.

Bumbleclat · 12/12/2016 20:47

I hope you have a better night tonight Duxb what a struggle for you.

I'm trying to guess when my baby's coming, MW said her head has dropped right down so I'm hoping that's a sign but I've had no BH or discomfort.
I'm 39 weeks on Weds so hoping she appears before Christmas :) I want DH to open his Daddy Pig T-shirt from her that I've surreptitiously placed under the tree with all the other presents. Grin

StubbleTurnips · 13/12/2016 09:18

It's very quiet on here at the moment so I'm hoping there's been lots of December arrivals!!

Lovewatchingrainfall · 13/12/2016 09:21

Due date today, and no sign of this baby moving. I think it is too comfy in there. Going to attempt my Christmas food shop this week but not sure if I'm just daft or should send my DH instead.

Hoping people are over the bugs and many more happy babies have been born.

Popskipiekin · 13/12/2016 09:37

lovewatching my midwife said maybe the baby wasn't coming out due to the cold weather. I thought she was joking but she said there was something in it in her experience!! Reeeeeally?? HmmGrin
DS1 just vommed all over himself, our bed and the carpet so that's my plan for a nice quiet day in bed busted. Any hope of us containing whatever it is to just him?? Not really, going by the comments on this thread...
Come and have some babies people and cheer me up.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 13/12/2016 10:03

Oh popskin your poor DS. Hope he recovers soon, and no one else manages to catch it. I'm trying to avoid any sickness bugs because unfortunately it would put my DD in hospital and knowing my luck it's when I go into labour.
I do think these babies know how cold it is and that they don't want to come out. I don't blame them in a way I would rather stay in the warm.

Bigfam · 13/12/2016 11:21

Hope the re-weigh went well duxb mw is due here later as well, we should be discharged to the health visitor then.
Oh no pops hope he's better soon and you somehow manage to avoid it, there's so many lurgies around this time of year!
Not heard that one about babies staying put because it's cold before.

Hope all the poorly toddlers (and adults) are better soon. Well, might mean you are at least all fit and healthy again for Christmas.

DH has been signed off sick until the beginning of the Christmas holidays. Both his headteacher and our GP think it's better for him to rest and be ready for when the baby actually arrives, which means he won't have to manically dash home... We are on 40+2 now and the baby doesn't seem to have any inclination whatsoever, though. Sad I've had enough. I feel like I've been pregnant forever. (And the next person, who tells me "Oh well, it means he'll be here soon..." deserves a slap.)

TinyTickler · 13/12/2016 11:30

Mini if one more person says to me "the baby will come when it's ready" I'm going to punch them unconscious. Oh really, because I thought me willing it to come was making a hue difference, now I know thats not the case I'll just sit back and relax!

Popskipiekin · 13/12/2016 11:46

Thank you ladies, he's surprisingly upbeat which makes me hope it's not noro...
Mini that's really good news about your DH - so much better for all of you, I do hope the rest helps him feel fit very soon.
✊ fist bump of solidarity with all those overdue and waiting. I didn't have this last time so was spared all the "have you had the baby yet" comments. They're coming thick and fast even from my very best friends - do they seriously think I wouldn't have said anything?

Bigfam · 13/12/2016 12:18

tiny that me me laugh a bit too much. Such violence Wink one slap won't do, they have to be unconscious 😂

Feeling for all the overdue mums-to-be! The "have you popped yet" questions are coming mostly from new-ish mums who really should know better!!!

mistletoe1 · 13/12/2016 12:40

Hi all, checking in on my due date to sympathise with those who are 40+. It's the sad comments from family about a potential Christmas Day birthday which are sending me over the edge - no pressure!!

Surf25 · 13/12/2016 13:08

Hi folks, just checking in. We had our twin boys on Sunday via c section. I had been booked for induction on 20th Dec but twin 1 had stopped growing in between the last two scans so the consultant decided it was time for them to come out! They are in NICU but doing well for 34 weekers. Have held each of them once since they were born 48 hours ago and those moments are very special indeed. They look like our other ds! Totally in love and totally exhausted. And for those who said up thread that breast feeding is hard, yes it is! I am hand expressing at the moment and hoping to start using a breast pump soon. Early days. Best wishes to all of you who are waiting, and to those who have their lovely new bundles!

Bumbleclat · 13/12/2016 13:41

TinyTickler that made me laugh so much!!

I'm thinking that a Christmas birthday would be a lovely thing really, everyone being around for your birthday, including extended family and also the cosy warmth... The house decorated each year and lovely memories of seasonal birthdays.

People say that the draw back is that people say 'this present is for your birthday AND Christmas' but the kind of ungrateful and entitled person that this would bother can talk this through in therapy as far as I'm concerned (nice problem to have)

Londonmamabychance · 13/12/2016 14:07

minispring and everyone else waiting for their babies, feel your pain! I'm 40 + 2 today as well, was due Monday. No signs of labour. Ventured out to an art gallery with my mum yesterday in an attempt to entertain her and suddenly had some pains so decided it was better to stay home today, but of course DD decided to be awake from 2am till this morning and kept me awake too. Wasn't ill or anything just wide awake and wanted to cuddle and play! Then DH took her to nursery and upon arriving there she apparently promptly fell asleep! I rested all morning but. I proper sleep so quite out of it. Come on, baby!!! I can't believe he'a not arrived yet.

OrianaBanana · 13/12/2016 16:16

I don't mind the Christmas birthday particularly it's just that I might have to have DD on my own if she comes on Xmas day as we don't have good enough friends to disrupt their Xmas days and my family don't live close enough to disrupt theirs!

Minispringroll · 13/12/2016 16:26

Are contractions always painful? Might be BH? (I'm a little worried, since it would take us so long to get to hospital...) I will know, won't I? Confused
My tummy is really tight, especially when I get up and walk around. The baby has been going slightly crazy and it's not comfy at all. He's tried to tunnel out for the past half hour and is now slowly calming down again. Hmm He's still rolling around, though...
I've been feeling like I'm getting my period for the last few days but it all calms down again at night and the little squiggle seems to sleep all night. (I have no issues sleeping at night at all...I might as well not be pregnant.) I'd like this to be over now, please.
