We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

Congrats on new arrivals!

Well we've all come down with noro here, DDs pukathon started last night. DH started at 8.30, and mine just after midnight. It's like the plague has descended upon us and getting in the bathroom is a queue.

Bigfam · 11/12/2016 05:40

Ahhh bloody he'll stubble that's some cruel payback for us talking about how they fake it sometimes, hope you're OK.
Looks like I'm awake for the day! Was up feeding baby but 7 year old plodded down the stairs, I sent him back up but now the nearly 2yo has just woken and there's noooo way she'll go back to sleep. Had a good night though, baby went down just before 10pm & slept til half 1, had a bottle then back to sleep from just after 2 til 5.

lovewatching yes I would be rich! I have mild period pains but not sure if it's just the way I slept Confused

Aw stubble I feel your pain, we've only just got over it and it was properly violent, keep hydrated and don't push yourself to eat more than oat cakes/ dry crackers.

Bigfam · 11/12/2016 05:57

C'mon baby bumble a live birth thread with my coffee would be fantastic!

Xmas Grin bigfam that'd would be amazing but I know how impatient I am, I'm sure the universe will be dragging this out for weeks!

Bigfam · 11/12/2016 06:15

Have you still got the pains?

Bumbleclat · 11/12/2016 06:16

No not really I had two lots of them at about 5am but they've sadly gone now...

DartmoorDoughnut · 11/12/2016 06:45

Oh god I feel awful for joking now stubble! Hope your poor DD is better and you guys all come out the other side quickly Flowers keep drinking LOTS

My DH has come down with the cold I had for the last couple of weeks. He's in bed feeling awful. On the other hand I was heavily pregnant and a sahm to a 2yr old ... Fucking man flu Angry Solo printing a toddler and a newborn is easier than being pregnant with a toddler though if that helps anyone feeling fed up!

Oh also I had horrendous referred pain after delivery - trapped gas essentially that presses on diaphragm and then gives fucking horrendous pain in shoulder due to pressure on nerves - just an FYI as luckily I'd heard of it but otherwise I think I'd have been rather worried as to why it felt like my shoulder was trying to fall off Grin

Growingbeanno2 · 11/12/2016 08:05

On no stumble, back stuff :(

So I put it on the fb group but can anyone here tell me how long you had between plug going and contractions/waters going? Last time it was about 8hrs for me. I am just trying to plan and take control!! Lol parents are 2hrs away and I don't want to alarm them yet. Also need to call labour line to discuss as requesting a section.

Bigfam · 11/12/2016 08:53

How are things going now beanno I've never lost my plug & my waters have only gone twice, first time was before my contractions started and the second I was in really established labour. How often are you getting pains now? I'd give your parents a call I think. Good luck!
Josie has been awake since the baby woke about 5, she's in an awful mood, looks like I'll have a moody toddler all day 😌

Oh no bigfam more coffee for you! And stubble that sounds awful. Really hope it's a flash in the pan thing.

DH got up twice in the night to be horribly sick - he is a very dramatic vomiter. He woke my sister and my DS thought he was having a nightmare and hid under the covers, terrified!

I am still not in labour and actually feel quite well mostly. Sorry Growingbeanno I've only ever been induced - I keep checking for my plug but nothing so far. More walking required!

StubbleTurnips · 11/12/2016 10:30

I know, I feel terrible too for saying she wasn't poorly Sad apologised a lot last night. It's been terrible here, her and DH haven't puked in a couple of hours. I can't move without being sick.

I'm now terrified of going into labour whilst this is lingering.

Any hints on how to get rid of it?

Bumbleclat · 11/12/2016 11:37

stubble don't worry, we all had it last weekend and the actual vom/ shit thing only lasted for 12 hours then the rest was just recuperating drinking those electrolyte sachets etc. You'll feel tired but the worst is likely over. I too was worried about going into labour with it. Apparently the baby gets all the antibodies so that's one plus. Get well soon Flowers

Minispringroll · 11/12/2016 11:42

Stubble Poor you. Sad Hm,..lots of fluids and rest? Don't think there's much you can do, really.

It's my due date today and we've been to see the midwife (not my usual one). Baby is less engaged than it was two weeks ago and seems to have no intention of making an appearance any time soon. Confused She made an appointment for me for next weekend and apparently then we can make an appoinment for induction, if needed. My family are flying over on the 23rd! I don't really want to go into labour two days before or even while they are here! Sad Having my mum, dad, sister and nan at the hospital would be my worst nightmare...

Growingbeanno2 · 11/12/2016 12:32

So nothing is now happening! :( Have had some contractions but theyre not regular or very close. Don't think my waters have gone and I'm just fed up now :(

StubbleTurnips · 11/12/2016 12:53

Thanks bumble and mini Flowers glad it was relatively short lived. Means mine has a couple more hours and I might feel normal again. X

stripeyorangesocks71 · 11/12/2016 14:59

39 weeks today and baby can come out now (please!!). Had some sharp pains yesterday around tummy (and fanny daggers!) and walking around the shop today for a few bits feels like a mission even though DP was with me.

I feel very heavy and uncomfortable but know that once baby is here my whole world will be turned upside down so that's kinda scary!

Nojo82 · 11/12/2016 19:46

2 weeks til due date. Had it in my head that i wouldve had baby last week.. getting fed up, sore and completely shattered. Plus my mood today is horrendous. No reason for it, think im just feed up. Have been on the verge of crying so many times. Gosh i cant remember feeling like this in other pregnancies..

Popskipiekin · 11/12/2016 20:59

Can people talk to me about their mucus plug experiences?? Didn't lose mine last time. Just found a small mass of jelly in me pants Grin Blush Not usual discharge but def not a whole plug. Can you lose bits of it at a time? If you experienced losing a bit of your plug, did more come out later? Is this the start of something exciting or just the beginning of a protracted two week journey...?

Lovewatchingrainfall · 11/12/2016 21:09

Popskie yes you can lose your plug bit by bit. As I found out in my last pregnancy it can also grow back so I was told. It could mean the start of something or nothing. Sorry not much help really.

Oh no nojo that sucks I was like that last week it was awful plus my mood swings now are awful! I never thought I would get this close to my due date as my DD was 6weeks early. So I thought this one would be here by now. Hope your okay.

duxb · 11/12/2016 21:42

Hi all. Was rather traumatic but totally worth it now she's here. We were allowed home this evening so just trying to adjust.

Have to admit the whole breastfeeding thing is something I'm struggling a little with. Last light in the ward, she seemed to turn a corner and although I fed her about ten times, including some considerable times the assistance and advice from the midwifed was amazing and baby seemed content. Got her Home and she had fed three times, ensuring she is finished using all the methods I used in hospital but she just won't settle.

Hoping it's just on of those learnings and she's okay but it's so hard not to worry. This first time parenting thing is hard.

Hope all are well x

Popskipiekin · 11/12/2016 22:06

It's VERY HARD duxb - a total body shock even without the traumatic start you've had. A midwife will visit you at home tomorrow won't she? Ask her everything you need to ask, get her to check and help you with anything you're unsure of. Can you have a look for local breastfeeding cafes/drop ins (round me they are called "milk spots" Confused) you can go to for breastfeeding support and camaraderie from other bf mums. The first couple of weeks are notoriously tricky. I'm sure you're doing all the right things and your baby girl just wants to be close to you right now. Hope you have support at home so you can just stay in bed with her beside you for next couple of months days?

Azure83 · 11/12/2016 23:03

popskie re. the plug, i lost some on Tuesday (after a sweep last Sunday) and some more today. I don't think there are many rules on that one, as someone already said, it can mean weeks, days, hours... That's why the midwives don't usually get too excited about it. I'm 41 weeks tomorrow and having another sweep so hopefully it will get things going! I am VERY ready to have this baby!

duxb · 11/12/2016 23:35

Pops yes, midwife due tomorrow. she is giving us all the cues, rooting etc and my milk hasn't come in properly but the colostrum is "wetter" than it was. Am alternating breasts at each feed etc. Last night she was incredible, the staff on the post natal ward were really reassuring and she would feed - albeit sometime for an hour or so but then go down and the cycle would repeat. All the tips about blowing on face to try and keep awake etc being utilised and when she had enough, I'd wait a few minutes she if she wanted to latch again and if not, settle her down. Since we got home, all the steps are the same. She is content during skin to skin after her feed, doesn't want to continue but as soon as I put her in her snuzpod, she is wailing and rooting. Have tried winding her and her nappy is dry.

So let her back on boob and ten minutes later she's done. But still won't go down.

She can't well sleep on one of us all night and yet it seems she won't settle any other way .

She was borderline jaundice today before the would let us leave and they will be re-checking tomorrow so I'm concerned about That and her possibly being dehydrated tonight.

Hopefully it will all be clear tomorrow with the midwife and she can help. I've had about five hours sleep since then section on Friday morning, so with hubs help can get through another night. Just wish I could know she's okay.

I will certainly be looking into local support groups
