We maxed out our last thread before starting a new one.
I'm not savvy like kitkat so can't post our list either! Hopefully there will be some ba's before this thread is completed.

We're both very well thank you. She was 6lb 10, so still a healthy weight. She has a little bit of jaundice but they're not worried about it. The only thing I'm struggling with is not being able to do anything or move very fast! DP is absolutely amazing though Smile

StubbleTurnips · 23/11/2016 13:47

going also experiencing the burrowing sensation, feels more like a brick in my pelvis pushing down though.

bigfam I hope not I'm still in bloody work Grin And I have a lovely afternoon tea booked for Friday when I've finished!!

Saturday these shenanigans can start.

Bigfam · 23/11/2016 14:27

Ah well it's always the way stubble make big plans and baby decides to make an arrival Wink

Glad to hear she is doing well MrsR
What a good size. Dd1 was a tiny bit jaundiced when she was born (37+3) bit didn't need any treatment.

Congrats MrsR!

I am getting very angry today, lots of people in Tesco were veering into my personal space, dawdling in aisles, walking right next to me for no reason, etc. On the way home someone pulled onto a roundabout in front of me. I hope the bad mood is reserved for others as I'm picking DS up from school in a mo and don't want to be shouting at him all evening. Confused

SouthDownsSunshine · 23/11/2016 16:36

Congratulations MrsR! Glad to hear you're both doing well.

Mini Sunshine is doing well. She's jaundiced so having a relaxing time on the sunbed!

Congrats, MrsR!

Looks like your little one is relaxing and doing well south Smile

Am so ill today with his terrible cold, didn't sleep all night and still haven't managed to sleep all day! Loosing my mind, my nose is so stuffed I just can't breathe. In the end I took a bit of Sudafed nose spray after my American cousin who I was chatting with said the advice there is it Adobe to take it. Think I'm just going to pick the advice from the country that suits my completely desperate current needs...

Arg, we should all live in the Bahamas and not having to struggle with these colds on top of pregnancies! Except, then we'd probably be worrying about a tropical disease and complaining about the heat. Grin

SouthDownsSunshine · 23/11/2016 17:01

Londonmama have you tried saline nose drops for your nose? They're ace, work really well although they're a wee bit grim.

Starting to feel torn between wanting to see dd1 and staying here with baby. Dd1 got so upset yesterday when she saw her sister with tubes etc, that dh has (probably correctly) prioritised spending time with her today (he visited for a few hours) and isn't planning to bring her tomorrow. So I've seen her very briefly Monday morning and very briefly yesterday. I miss her so much. But baby needs me here. I guess part of me is realising what the next 4 months will bring, with us being split as we look after a healthy toddler and a poorly baby.

SolomanDaisy · 23/11/2016 17:10

south, we got a brilliant thing for DS from the NICU. It was a premature baby doll and a set of wires, breathing tubes, masks, etc for him to take home and play with. He recreated the incubator and baby at home and really enjoyed it. Could you ask if there is anything like that available? It might help her a bit. I know what you mean about the balance, it feels important to be here with DD but I really miss DS.

We're taking DD home tomorrow! I'm both excited and terrified. We'll be tube feeding her at home and we'll have loads of medical people coming to support us with various things, but she still seems so vulnerable.

DartmoorDoughnut · 23/11/2016 17:12

Congrats MrsR!

Your MissSunshine is gorgeous sunshine!

DartmoorDoughnut · 23/11/2016 17:13

Amazing news soloman Flowers

Lovewatchingrainfall · 23/11/2016 18:17

Aww south she looks like she is loving the sunbathing. She looks lovely. It must be so hard for you to be so torn. But if you do see DD1 at least you know DD2 is safe in the hospital while your away. It must be hard for them to understand.

Soloman* you must be so excited to go home with little one.

Had my midwife appointment today they have agreeded to a sweep at 38weeks but not sure if they even work. I'm in so much pain moving and sleeping is a nightmare can't wait to have baby evicted now

AppleMagic · 23/11/2016 18:39

Great news soloman!!! We were supposed to be bringing ds home tomorrow too but now Fri/Sat looks more likely as he also needs a bit more sunbed action as still a bit jaundiced. This sounds awful but I'm actually a bit relieved as I was mentally prepared for him to stay a bit longer and I need time to buy some smaller clothes for him as the newborn vest I tried came down to his feet!

south I'm finding it really tough being apart from my older DC. They are 4 and 2 and only really have a vague understanding of why I am away. It's been better since I was discharged even though they only see me for about 30mins each day they refer the fact that I am sleeping at home. My 2 yr old calls it my "baby work" when I leave to go in the morning.

SouthDownsSunshine · 23/11/2016 19:39

Solomon that's great news :)

apple sorry that your son needs sunbed action as well. It's so tough balancing it all. The poor nurse had me crying on her this evening!

rainfall I hope a sweep works for you. I am finding recovery from the section less exhausting and painful than being pregnant. The final stages are so hard, especially with spd xx

Thisisbonkers · 23/11/2016 20:45

Congratulations MrsR!

Aw south, bless her 😍

Can I ask for a sweep at my 40 week appointment? Or is it something that needs to be booked? People are saying my bump has dropped but baby wasn't that engaged at 38 weeks. Want to get things going now. Bored on maternity, finding myself doing chores! 😱

StubbleTurnips · 23/11/2016 20:52

Bonkers get scrubbing a step or doing squats! That's what some nana said to me on the street today Grin

You could set to trying each of the old wives tales, and report back!

The midwife may offer a sweep at your community appointments. I had them from 40w last time, did nothing for me and very uncomfortable.

duxb · 23/11/2016 21:51

Hi ladies. Just on the sweep thing, at a 39 week appointment yesterday, my MW said that she has booked me for a double appointment this Tuesday coming (I'll be 40+3) so they can do a sweep and at that point they will book my induction date in, just incase. I can then have a sweep (should I want one) every 48hours.

Baby very much engaged but apart from some Braxton Hicks, no other signs.

Not sure if the sweep situation is the same all over the UK but that's the score with my MW team.

Thisisbonkers · 23/11/2016 22:08

My induction is booked for 40+12 to ensure an outpatient appointment. I might ring the community midwives to see if I can have one at 40 weeks (well, it will be 39+5).

stubble I have already tried sniffing a baby's head but she clearly wasn't very potent! I have clarey sage oil to sniff and I'm trying to walk a fair bit. I shall try some pineapple too, think juice will be sufficient?!

Thisisbonkers · 23/11/2016 22:09

A sweep that is at 39+5!

StubbleTurnips · 23/11/2016 22:34

Bonkers I tried a clary sage bath last time and it bought me out in hives, I started yelping in the bath and remember DH saying 'I thought this would be bollocks, but it's working fast isn't it?!!'. Until he saw my skin, im steering clear of it!

Mmmmm maybe you need more baby's heads, see if you can sneak into a baby class and get them all lined up?

Pineapple juice might be the way forward Smile

barkingtreefrog · 24/11/2016 06:25

Great news Solomon

Sunshine one day at a time, I'm sure you'll manage a balance between you while dd2 gets all the treatment she needs, then you'll all be home together whenever that is Flowers

queenc81 · 24/11/2016 06:45

Hi ladies.

Ended up being admitted to hospital for 3 weeks, baby Leila arrived last Thursday finally. It ended in an emergency section due to a suspected rupture.

We are Finally home and she's doing really well. She was 5.11lbs.

Congratulations to other births x

Congrats queen Flowers

Bigfam · 24/11/2016 06:48

Apparently nipple stimulation is supposed to work & good ol' sex Grin

I've got my 38 week apt tomorrow, think I'll ask whilst there if she'll do a sweep at the following apt (40 weeks) just so I've got something to look forward to. I've never had a sweep & never gone to 40 weeks. These days are dragging now & every morning I wake up I can't wait for the evening to arrive again because I'm convinced I'll go into labour at night/very early hours of the morning!
