Morning everyone

I agree an early scan isn't really necessary but as I can get one for £37 where I am, I don't mind spending that for (hopefully) some reassurance. I didn't have an early scan with DD.

It's self-referral to the mw here and I haven't phoned yet. Still feels too early Confused All going well, I'll phone next week.

Is anyone else having really restless sleep/finding it hard to get to sleep? I was working late & very busy at the start of the week so I put it down to that but now things have calmed down & I'm still the same. Tossing and turning all night & lying awake for periods. It's really unlike me Hmm

4+5

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/10/2016 08:01

Thanks kitty, that's reassuring. My sis is currently 16 weeks and mum says she didn't see GP until 9 weeks either, although they live in another county so I don't know how long it took her to get her scan appt through. I would ask her but I don't want to give the game away just yet!

I'm not having an early scan either. DP and I discussed it and we decided it's not necessary unless I need it. Plus I've got some expensive repairs to do on my car before Xmas so I can't afford it anyway.

MumofthreeandBean · 20/10/2016 08:02

Sleep is definately an issue! I am tired so go to bed, lay there awake, then wake early and at various intervals in the night!!

Midwife today 😊 Telling mums this morning!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/10/2016 08:13

mommy hopefully if anything did go wrong your gp's might refer you if you went in for an emergency appointment.

sunday how did you work out your lmp? I found a calculator online (also suffer from irregular cycles due to pcos). If I went by my actual lmp id be 6+2 not 5+2!

I'm not having sleep trouble. I actually like to get up early when I'm not getting up for work (work shifts) but I've actually been feeling like I could lie in instead!

I'm undecided about telling work. I'm in one of those jobs where there's a risk to consider. My supervisor knew I was ttc as I told him I was revising fertility testing. But it feels to early to tell him, I know if I tell him he'll insist that I tell HR. Then I'll be put on restricted duties and then everyone will find out Confused. DP says to wait until I've seen GP which I think is probably a good idea unless symptoms mean I have to confess sooner. Ugh! So difficult!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/10/2016 08:14

Hop everyone else is well today!

Im panicking, just did an internet cheapie preg test and it came out lighter than the ones i did a few weeks ago. Now worrying that my hcg is going down and i have another mmc.

Arghhhhhhh.

FlashingLights · 20/10/2016 08:25

purple I have been really restless the last few nights too. Even though I have been knackered, I just couldn't settle

I wouldn't of opted for an early scan if I hadn't had the bleeding/pains. Sneaking to EPU is getting a bit silly now, it's literally directly opposite the ward I work on. I am waiting outside now literally standing at the most awkward angle so if anyone comes out I won't be seen!

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/10/2016 08:58

flashing have you got some big shades and a hat you could wear? Grin

masweetpea try not to panic, could your wee just be more dilute this morning?

PurpleHaze1 · 20/10/2016 09:04

Masweetpea the Internet Cheapies are so unreliable I really wouldn't trust them. I hope it's just that it's a dodgy test or something. How many weeks are you? Try not to panic although I know that's easier said than done

lamafarmer · 20/10/2016 09:08

Hi gang,

Tentatively joining you... 4+5 based on LMP!

No symptoms yet apart from slightly sore boobs...

Have only told my DH so pleased to have others to talk to here.

X

haveacupoftea · 20/10/2016 09:12

masweetpea my tests started going faint too, its the hook effect! Wee in a pot and add loads of water and you'll get your bold line back. (Then stop testing!)

LilyCat43 · 20/10/2016 09:25

Hi!

Terrible nights sleep here too, late night at work followed by hours of tossing and turning DH has a cold so was snoring the house down. Tried ear plugs but got more annoyed by my own heartbeat! lol can't win! Another late night tonight so at least it's a late start, lazy morning required I think lol but roadworks and traffic lights have just appeared at the end of my drive. Annoying lol.

Hope everyone else is feeling well this morning. Xx

Masweetpea1 · 20/10/2016 09:50

I've just seen the midwife (had appt anyway this morning), she's booked me in for a scan at 11.15. She didn't seem worried and when she phoned epu she really bigged up my symptoms!! Fingers crossed, I'll let you all know later what happens xx

haveacupoftea · 20/10/2016 10:10

Honestly, try diluting your wee. Ive attached a pic of tests i did around 7 weeks. Bottom one is same urine diluted!

haveacupoftea · 20/10/2016 10:12

Oh just realised your scan is today and not on the 11th lol, good luck, I think you will be fine Flowers

VeganMama83 · 20/10/2016 10:12

Totally get the salt and vinegar thing! It's helping settle my stomach for some reason! Tho it's always been my fave flavour!

We are having an early scan as it's not too much here, it's £45 and altho we aren't flush with money I see it as a small price to pay for peace of mind instead of waiting for 12 week scan which seems forever away! I bled with both my boys and worried so much so this is the best option for us. Won't be doing all the 4d stuff tho, this is purely to reassure! I'd be a bag of nerves otherwise.

I'm so bloated already and had to find my size 12 uniform trousers for work last night, no way the 10's were going on. I know you can show quicker with each subsequent pregnancy but this bloating is gonna give me away as everyone who knows me knows how much weight I've lost and how well I eat/how much I exercise! Baggy tops will be my friend I think!

PurpleHaze1 · 20/10/2016 10:19

Wow haveacup that's amazing! I've never heard of the hook effect before.

Really hope it's good news at the scan masweet

Myfirstbornisacollie · 20/10/2016 10:22

Found the new thread!
Nausea seems to be a bit more manageable or I'm just getting used to it
I have major carb/salt cravings particularly pickled onion monster munch Blush stinky
I'm waiting to hear back about mw appointment not too stressed though as I'll get my scan on time as DH works in the department Grin

peaceloveandbiscuits · 20/10/2016 10:52

Gah the urine sample I left at the doctors last week had protein in it, so I have to repeat it tomorrow. Now petrified I have diabetes or something! I was plagued by protein in my urine in my last pregnancy, but no other signs of anything sinister, GD test came back negative. Waaah.

Ladies! I just had my early scan and it was all good! We saw the little heart beating away, everything in the right place and there is just one in there 😊. I was sobbing so much with relief that she was finding it hard to keep the scanning thing on my tummy! I don't think I could be any happier right now. I know it's very early days and I'm not out of the woods at all. But for today, I'm feeling happy. I don't think I will ever forget seeing that litttke heart beating. Wow. Hope this makes people who are also not having any symptoms feel a bit more relieved as I still don't really have any.

She revised my dates so I'm 6+5 😊

VeganMama83 · 20/10/2016 11:14

Great news going! Xxx

LilyCat43 · 20/10/2016 11:31

That's fab news going I think you are around a week ahead of me so that has settled my mind a lot today! I'm starting to allow myself some excitement now! Grin Xx

Sundaygal · 20/10/2016 11:42

That is so exciting Going! Hoping everything goes well at your scan Masweetpea.

Dizzy My actual LMP would put me at 7+5 but from charting CM and when I likely ovulated I'm putting myself at 5+3 - I'm going to have to call my midwife team soon and let them help sort it out. I think I'll wait til Monday when I'll be 6wks (maybe).

haveacupoftea · 20/10/2016 12:12

Aw congrats going. That's great news. All these successful early scans are making me wish I had booked one now. But it's hard enough to cope with the nerves as it is.

I am starting to need a LOT of food or I feel queasy and shaky...I would have felt like that before pg if I hadn't eaten all day...now I get it if I haven't eaten in 2 hours. I am sitting here in work staring at my mug shot waiting for it to cook!

Can't wait til 8 weeks tomorrow...it feels like a bit of a milestone Smile

Hi All. I recognise a few names from the October bus. My name was also RoseBud and MrsPositiveAttitude. Just wanted to say I got my BFP on Monday. We'll it was less big and fat and more thin and faint. I haven't read all the posts as there's an awful lot but it's so nice to see that so many of you are doing well. I won't be hanging around as I am totally petrified of losing the baby so going to lay low for the first 12 weeks. Just wanted to say hi and wish you luck.
