I've been so clumsy ... worse than normal! Smile

I've been having slight waves of nausea but nothing extreme yet ... I'm in that praying for it and dreading it at the same time kinda place. My previous pregnancies i completely went of coffee - but I'm still enjoying it at the moment so getting a little nervous about this little bean.

I didn't realize so many people got early scans. Are these private ones or through your regular midwife appt? I haven't called to book in yet as last time it all ended before I had my booking in appointment and for some reason cancelling it hit me really hard so waiting until I'm minimum 6 weeks by my calculations.

haveacupoftea · 19/10/2016 19:29

I don't get to see my midwife until 12 weeks! Longest wait EVER. Glad to see its not just me eating crisps and things Blush

Boobs are pretty sore today now! And had small cramps and sore back when standing cooking the dinner.

Masweetpea1 · 19/10/2016 19:47

What a day. Had a gp appt and because i have thyroid issues and a mmc in July they referred me straight to the hospital by passing the midwives! So I've got an early scan next Thursday 27th when I'll be 8+3. Surprised as I'd booked a private scan, which I'll now cancel. They're properly watching me this time which is a relief.

I've also just been out to get some travel sickness bracelets, heard they might help the nausea, desperate times! I'll report back if they're any good!!

7+2

annakd1234 · 19/10/2016 19:52

I'm not so much clumsy but I keep doing really stupid things. Yesterday I went to get fuel and drove off without putting my petrol cap back on or closing the flap thing - just totally absent minded!
Please do keep us posted on travel sickness bands!

MoonlightMojitos · 19/10/2016 20:01

sunday I think most people are paying for them privately by sounds of it. We're only booking one because I had a mc last time so want some reassurance. I've noticed your date is very different to lmp so guessing you have crazy cycles? If you did want an early scan they definately probably give you one if you said you have long irregular cycles so have no idea about dates ;)

ma excellent news that they'll be keeping an eye out for you and on getting a scan! Fx for you and defo keep me updated on the bands please! Don't know how I'm going to hide this for possibly months yet 😷

peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/10/2016 20:20

Last week I left my shopping on the self service check out. I collected my change and my receipt, but not my dinner! Sad

Dh calls me Dory!! Guess why 😂
I've got worse the more kids I have, after this one I will be lucky if I remember where I live!

MissisBee · 19/10/2016 20:44

I can't book directly with the midwife where I live, have to be referred by GP. Have appt next week. It seems such a looong time before anything happens. No nausea yet, hoping my body forgets that part!
I think I left a packet of sweets at the till yesterday - got 2 for something we're doing in Guides this week cos they were on special offer. Got home and only had one!

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 20:53

Awww peace I keep walking around at work having no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. I keep trying to get my head around the face that I'm having a baby... Hmm

Took another test just to be sure that there's still a baby in there. We're still good.
I can still use pregnancy as an excuse to stuff my face... Grin

MissisBee · 19/10/2016 20:56

Mommy I'm wandering round work trying not to blurt it out to everyone! Also fighting the temptation to keep testing AL the time. Only have one test in the house, trying to save it for the day of the doctor's appointment

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 21:05

Missisbee DP said to leave it till nearer my midwife appt but other than mild cramping, being cold and hungry, I've had no other symptoms so was wondering if it was still there.
The ladies that I work closely with already know bcus of H&S reasons. Only our parents know outside of work. We're (attempting) to wait till 1st scan to tell everyone else. It's so difficult especially when people say I've lost weight! HA! Not for long Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 19/10/2016 21:17

Good news about the HCG FlashingLights. Hopefully as you are not doubled up in searing agony, you aren't having an ectopic-fingers crossed!

I didn't do any pelvic floor exercises last time and haven't wet myself yet! I also religiously did my perineal massages from 30 weeks and still had an episiotomy from the forceps so not going to bother this time!!

I don't think it is true about the taste buds-I do think they develop taste buds around then but don't believe it will affect what foods they like-otherwise DD would love gherkins!!!

Dizzy don't worry about the scan date-that won't be booked at your booking in date-that will be separate I'm sure. I bet you get another letter with a scan date, in the next couple of weeks. And they call it the 11-14 dating scan as that is the window for doing the Nuchal fold. People are rarely 12 weeks exactly xx

Hi Phantom!

Sorry about your panic Moonlight-hope you feel better soon

Glad they are on the ball Masweetpea-looks like they are doing everything they can for little bean!

I think I'm the only one not having an early scan! I had to have one at 10 weeks last time as started bleeding red blood but otherwise, I hope I don't have to scan before the Dating scan. Sometimes it can be too early to see anything and still cause worry. I prefer to think everything is ok-what I don't know!!!!!!

Skee · 19/10/2016 21:28

I've not booked one yet Kitty, and I'm not sure I'm going to either? I've relaxed a bit since last weekend, now that I've hit the nausea phase (heartbreaking because I suffer from emetophobia, but I'm relieved) I feel like things are progressing as they should?

I've got my flu jag next Tuesday at the docs, so I'm going to ask lots of questions then and hopefully leave reassured. Then my first appointment is on the 8th Nov (8+2), so fingers crossed everything's ok!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/10/2016 21:44

No early scan here either. Can't be bothered and can't afford it.

haveacupoftea · 19/10/2016 21:48

Same peace it sounds like a recipe for more stress and heartache to me.

Sundaygal · 19/10/2016 21:53

Thanks for the info Moonlight. My cycle has always been a little irregular so am going by my best guesstimate based on charting.

Interesting the different views on early scans...I'd like to think it'd be reassuring, but perhaps not.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/10/2016 21:57

I don't enjoy scans though! I always come out feeling like I've been beaten up!

OP posts:
MumofthreeandBean · 19/10/2016 21:58

No early scan here either - £100 is a lot to pay when I will get a free one in a couple of weeks anyway , understand why those who have had problems would get one though.

Dragon5000 · 19/10/2016 22:36

Wow such a change across the country! I saw my gp when I found out who referred to mw and scan, she also did my flu jab there and then. I saw my mw at 6 weeks, again next week at 9 weeks for my booking and have scan booked when I'll be 12+2. I also have my mw mobile number so I can contact her direct if I have a problem.
My line manager looked at me today and said I looked rough! We have a great relationship and I'm always taking the piss out of her so she's lapping up the opportunity to rip me back! Only my management and a few close friends know haven't told my parents yet as they can't keep a secret!
My son announced I'm having lots of babies tonight, he doesn't know much we talk openly about babies etc as he's desperate for a sibling!

8 weeks and feeling rough

Dragon5000 · 19/10/2016 22:37

Oh and I've only poas once cos I'm terrified it'll be negative if o do another! And no early scan in too tight to pay for one

haveacupoftea · 19/10/2016 22:37

I think, for me, the feeling of not 100% believing it is like a protective thing. If that's taken away from me and something goes wrong, I think I would take it very hard. So I will leave the scan until absolutely necessary. But that's just me, everyone is different and if you feel an early scan is the right choice for you, totally go for it Smile

LilyCat43 · 19/10/2016 22:54

I did another test today just to prove it to myself! Lol the wait for an appointment is actually driving me mad! I actually have to wait for a letter then wait for the appointment! I'm not good at waiting! Lol Xx

annakd1234 · 20/10/2016 07:09

Morning, real proper nausea has hit me this morning, everything prior has been a false alarm. Literally feel like I'm about to vom with every mouthful of my breakfast. Do people actually go to work feeling like this?
Hope others are feeling better!

Mommytobe2017 · 20/10/2016 07:10

It's so strange how it differs across the country. I have to wait till I'm 9 weeks to see the mw. No idea what to do in the meantime if something goes wrong. Our EPU is EPAU. You have to be referred by the doc yet I wasn't allowed a docs appt... hmmm Hmm
