Sorry if this is TMI but can ask you lovely lot about pelvic floor excercises? Do you do them and how?! Aha

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 13:18

Exercises*

MumofthreeandBean · 19/10/2016 13:37

Never done pelvic floor exercises - hoping this one will slip out 😂
But seriously I never did them, I don't seem to have a problem now and I've had 3 babies - 2 big ones, one 10.3lb - unless I bounce on a trampoline and then I feel I might wet myself.

MumofthreeandBean · 19/10/2016 13:38

You just clench your muscles 'down there' like when you orgasm x

FlashingLights · 19/10/2016 14:37

mommy Yes, I think they are very important. This is a really good information page about them; www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1063.aspx?categoryid=52

(I don't know how to do click links, sorry!)

EPU just called - my hcg has gone from 683 to 1693 so that's a little reassuring. They want me to go for a rescan tomorrow to rule out an ectopic.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 19/10/2016 14:41

Try not to worry mummy2 I live on a farm as long as you wash your hands well, sheep tend to be the main worry.

I have been eating to keep the nausea at bay, away tonight with DH and DC and contemplating going for some Pringles and Alcohol free kopparberg after reading this thread!

7 + 6 today, wow!

Tulip2013 · 19/10/2016 14:52

Hi all, just on route to see midwife for first time. Fingers crossed all ok. Annoying community midwife only offers appointments 2-3pm every Wednesday and I work an hour away from home so work are totally going to suspect something if I have to take Weds afternoons off every other blinking week. (Rant over!)

My Ovia app today says Bob (name for tiny speck) is the size of a Maine blueberry. Who knew Maine blueberries were different from other geographically grown blueberries!😉

Am now also on spreadsheet

Hope it goes well at the MW Tulip

That's great news about your HCG levels Flashing. I'm so pleased for you.

Pelvic floor exercises. Hmm I really should have done more about that first time around Hmm I definitely cannot jump on a trampoline without leakage now. Or sneeze...or cough... Blush I'll need to put extra effort in this time.

I think the nausea has started a bit for me today. This morning I felt really sick but it faded by mid-morning and I feel fine now.

Donostia · 19/10/2016 15:21

Signing on, I lost you guys for a moment there!

I didn't do ANY pelvic floor exercises, I'm alrightish now, but if totally desperate for a wee sometimes can't quite get to a toilet without a little leakage...

I've dug out my soft bras from last time... theyre about a million sizes bigger than my normal size but my boobs have already ballooned.. anyone else???

Hi everyone!

Feeling a bit crappy today and again exhausted!!!
Loving all the crisp eating, I'm usually a salt and vinegar girl but I've been making my way through meat flavoured multi packs! And they have to be ridged!
Loving the bit of info about its taste buds developing with what we eat. Can that really be true?????
2 days to my scan. Nervous abc excited at the same time!!!!

Called my GP today, the earliest appointment I can get is when I'll be 9 weeks! They said they don't see anyone until between 6-8 weeks. I reckon this will mean I won't get to have a scan until way after 12 weeks Sad

FlashingLights · 19/10/2016 15:38

tulip don't worry, after this appointment you won't see the midwife until 16 weeks then 28 weeks (GP at 25/40 for first baby, although some hospitals offer this as a mw appointment) so you won't be there too frequently until everyone knows.

dizzy I don't intend to see my GP, I have done a self referral to the midwives and am going to just have my flu jab done at work (you can arrange the flu jab with the nurse or pharmacy, doesn't have to be the GP). I'm just going to give my GP a courtesy call if all is well at my scan tomorrow.

The only reason women actually see the GP's during pregnancy was as a compromise to allow midwives to give the bulk of antenatal care - GP's get paid extra for every pregnant woman they see! (So they taught me at university I'm actually a real life midwife )

PhantomPower · 19/10/2016 16:02

Hi all, tentatively sidling up to you over here.

Phantom, 32, dc1 (will attempt the spreadsheet but not sure my phone will acquiesce...)

Wanted to leave booking in til later this time after a mc in the summer as last time I didn't even get to point of midwife app (had an early scan booked for the day after my appointment so I cancelled until I had news...which was not good). However rang up yesterday and they immediately gave me a phone appointment for this morning so it's for real now! In south Birmingham they seem to have an odd system where you do booking in over the phone, then hv to visit anyway to go do bloods etc, very strange.

Didn't have nausea last time so whilst I know there's no correlation, taking the fact that I'm fairly queasy this time unless eating as a good sign. S&v pringles sound pretty good to me, but have now got paranoid about massively increased salt intake so currently munching on tasty tasty cardboard (brown rice cakes).

NappingRabbit · 19/10/2016 16:11

Definitely do your pelvic floors! I started doing them religiously from about 6 months pregnant last time as I scared myself silly reading about incontinence and leaking wee. Even in the days after delivery, I never had a leak/accident and have no problems coughing/sneezing/jumping around like a crazy thing. Loss of bladder control is not inevitable!

userabcname · 19/10/2016 17:03

Hi guys, been trying to catch up - hope everyone is feeling ok! The morning sickness really took hold this last week for me but today I haven't felt too bad and have developed an insane appetite! My wedding is on Saturday so fingers crossed I make it through that without feeling too ill.

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 17:10

Mum why don't they just say that on the nhs website? Aha

Dizzy don't worry, I'll be 9 weeks at my first appt too. The receptionist was quite abrupt with me when I asked to book a doc appt. She told me I didn't need to see a doc for that. I must have looked puzzled because she booked me a midwife for 8th Nov

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 17:12

Oh and S+V pringles sound sooo good 😆 I'm starving and it's going to take over an hour for dinner Sad

MoonlightMojitos · 19/10/2016 18:11

Sorry to any major news I've missed, I really can't keep up with this thread, how do you girls do it?!!

I had a real panic last night as I felt completely normal for first time in 2 weeks no nausea or anything after days of actually being sick. Got myself in a bit of a flap. Then this afternoon it's hit me again so panic over! Can't wait to book scan for next week and hopefully start relaxing.

My crisp weakness is currently chipsticks... getting through 3 packs a day Blush luckily I stocked up on multipacks from the pound shop last week!

Welcome phantom I'm in the same position, had a mc last time (July) the day before my booking appointment. I also had barely any symptoms last time but sick as a dog this time so trying to be positive!

flashing that's great news, what a relief :)

Evening everyone and welcome newbies Smile

Been on the road since 6am and finally arrived at my hotel. I'm shattered, and starting to feel really nauseous throughout the day, so I'm driving with a plastic bag to hand... just in case 😳😩

The 'Maine Blueberry' comparison fair tickled me too Tulip Smile I particularly liked the wee video they posted comparing all the berries over the next couple of weeks!

Hope everyone's doing well Smile

Skee · 19/10/2016 18:20

Woops!

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 18:25

Is anyone else clumsy? I seem to be getting really bad...

All I was trying to do was empty my plastic tumbler into the sink. I ended up juggling with it and it + contents ended up on the floor Sad

Causing more work for myself 😆

Mommytobe2017 · 19/10/2016 18:25

I keep forgetting to put 6+1

Sixisthemagicnumber · 19/10/2016 19:07

tulip midwife appointments are very infrequent so you won't need to be nipping out every fortnight. I think after your booking in appointment the next one is at 16 weeks and then 24/28 weeks depending on if it is your first baby.

I am surprised that everyone is seeing their midwives so soon as I can't refer until i am 7 weeks and my first appointment will be at 9-10 weeks (it was last time too).

Goingmadttc · 19/10/2016 19:09

Evening ladies, I'm with you on the salt and vinegar crisps, had some excellent McCoys ones today!

Got my first scan tomorrow, 7 weeks. Am petrified of a MMC, as had three early mcs already this year although have never made it this far. Not going to get much sleep tonight!

MoonlightMojitos · 19/10/2016 19:14

tulip also once you've told your work they have to give you the time off paid for all maternity appointments if you're not aware :)

six they made my appointment when I called them at about 5 weeks but it's not until I'll be 8+4

going fx for you hun. I'm terrified too :(. That's good news getting to 7 weeks though! Hopefully that's it now and it's stuck.
