Had my early scan ladies and all is well (pic attached but just looks like a jellybean with little stumpy arms haha). They put me a few days ahead at 9+1 but I'm sticking with my dates for now (8+4).

Sorry you're having such a rough time katniss I've felt sorry for myself with the sickness as it is let alone literally not being able to keep anything down you poor thing :( hope it improves quickly for you and you get the meds to help.

Welcome hermano! I'm not sure how to link to the spreadsheet sorry!

Fab pic mojitos!

Welcome hermano & congratulations!

Is your 3yo at pre school/nursery? My DD will be 3 when this baby arrives. I plan to go to baby groups with the new baby when DD is at nursery.

haveacupoftea · 31/10/2016 21:36

I think that worked... it's times like these, that I feel like I'm adulting well Smile

northernquavers · 01/11/2016 07:10

Morning everyone, had our scan last night, after all my worries that there was nothing in there saw little 8+4 bean with 170bpm heartbeat and even got to watch the cord and heartbeat doppler. It was such a huge relief after a miscarriage this Summer. Nearly put a pic on but realised all the pics on my phone have my name and everything on there. I was one day ahead of where I thought so looks like my dates were bang on. Booking in this Friday at what will be 9 weeks.

When I did the telephone appointment to book in they said 'have you decided to have your baby at x hospital' and I said 'I don't know yet'. She said we'll only book you if you're having the baby here. I've only lived here since June and I know v little about the hospital. How on earth do you decide if it is the right one for you? I only know a handful of people here and even less who have delivered at x hospital. To give some background my work involves working with families whose births have gone catastrophically wrong so I am probably much more anxious about this than I need to be.

themoonandsixpence · 01/11/2016 07:42

Northernquaver can you ask the hospital(s) if you are allowed to do a tour? Also maybe do an internet search for reviews on the maternity wards and ask your midwife or nurse. My midwife was pretty much the same with me but the one I might end up having the baby (although slightly further from home than another hospital) is my first choice

HazyHazyJeans · 01/11/2016 07:46

Glad it went well northern

I seem to wake up feeling OK then feel more sick as the day progresses. Anyone else like that?

^^ I take this back, I've been feeling sick since before I opened my eyes this morning!

LollyCake · 01/11/2016 08:08

Hope taking the week off work helps katniss, definitely take the antisickness tablets if it doesn't! I've got a couple of friends who had HG and it's awful.

veganmama I use cloth nappies on my 2 year old and I've already bought a few newborn nappies Blush I'm a sucker for cute prints.

Skee · 01/11/2016 08:20

Congrats Northern!

From what I've heard you can switch hospitals if you want to? So perhaps register and go along and if you're not happy, switch to another?

Urgh Hazy, I'm exactly the same. I'm woken up at 5am every morning feeling horrific. And I need to run to the kitchen for breakfast immediately... then I just feel sick all day. It's like a continuous horrible hangover, and I didn't even get to enjoy gin and prosecco beforehand! Grin

ymmv · 01/11/2016 08:37

Yay mojitos I hope you're enjoying it more now.

And northern that's great. Smile

NappingRabbit · 01/11/2016 08:55

Great news from early scans!

Hazy I usually get worse throughout the day but have also woken feeling pretty rough this morning.

hermano NCT do refresher courses for second timers if you wanted to join one. Or you could meet other mums through baby groups after the birth.

katniss sorry you're feeling so awful. A friend of mine had HG and it is totally grim. Rest up.

VeganMama83 · 01/11/2016 09:08

lollycake there seems to be so much choice but I'm enjoying researching it all with a little help from a friend who cloth bums! xx

MumofthreeandBean · 01/11/2016 09:11

katniss big hugs xx
vegan & lolly really want to use cloth this time but no idea where to start!!! Help would be appreciated!

Busy day today, no time to feel ill but guess my body doesn't realise!

Lovely scan news!! Wish mine was closer!!!

DizzyNorthernBird · 01/11/2016 09:22

Morning! moonlight and quavers that's brilliant news about your scans, it must be such a relief to see baby and have confirmation that all is going well. I'm also convinced at times that there's nothing going on in there!

I'm interested in using cloth nappies, can anyone point me in the right direction of a good site to find out more?

So, have had a rough couple of days. Couldn't eat my dinner on Sunday night and put it down to being a pregnancy symptom. Then woke up during the night and every half an hour all night throwing up. Was worried as I thought it was morning sickness starting, however it turns out I've had a 24 hour sickness bug which seems to be doing the rounds around here (DP's family have had it and now people at work are going down with it too...). Spent most of yesterday sleeping and have taken today off work but I'm feeling much better thankfully. DP thinks it was norovirus, which I've never had before. I'm so thankful it wasn't morning sickness as I've no idea how I'd cope. Really feel for those of you who have HG (?).

Thanks to those of you who gave advice about my nan. I've not really thought too much about it with being ill but I'm thinking I'll just keep quiet about it for now. I'll tell work about the pregnancy in the next couple of weeks and I will tell her then I think. Once work knows there's no point in holding it back from the rest of the family.

DizzyNorthernBird · 01/11/2016 09:23

Oh, 7 weeks today!

Joy388 · 01/11/2016 09:55

Fab pic mojitos!

Do you mind if I ask you, and anyone else having early scans, did you do transabdominal or internal? The latter kind of freaks me out so I went with transabdominal but I don't know whether the internal ones are much clearer? I know I'm going to have to get over being freaked out by it all pretty quickly Blush .

Fcukthetww · 01/11/2016 10:03

Hello All, am I too late to join? Due date is 15/6/17. Baby #2 based in lancs xx

Monkeyandthebear · 01/11/2016 10:07

Hey all

Glad the scans have gone well ladies and hope the HG gets better with some rest.

I am feeling ok just now. Had a real hangover feeling yesterday morning, but feel generally ok today. Kinda makes me feel like I am not pregnant. Boobs are killing me though so at least I know something is going on.

Not been sleeping well which is so unlike me, but went to Body Balance last night and had a really good sleep afterwards. Think exercise is the way forward.

Feels such a long time until I even have a booking appointment, never mind a scan. Time seems to be moving v slowly right now.

fcuk of course not too late to join! Welcome!

I will be setting up a fb group once the majority have had 12 week scans too!

And hell yes to the time going slow! I thought it would go quicker than this with two boys to run around after and work etc! Clearly not

peaceloveandbiscuits · 01/11/2016 10:31

Dizzy the single best thing you can do is find your local cloth nappy library (often facilitated by the NCT but not always) and borrow a kit of all different sorts when your baby is born. It's such a lot of money to spend and then find what you've bought doesn't suit you or your baby. When I was last pregnant I thought I wanted birth to potty pockets, but ended up using terry squares once he was born!

VeganMama83 · 01/11/2016 10:33

peace we don't have one here nor do we have bf or sling groups. Gonna buy a few of each type Pre loved from friends and see what we like first then invest in BtP kits x

babyand · 01/11/2016 11:05

Ladies not on their first pregnancy.....

'Lightening crotch' has made an appearance at nearly 7week!

I'm sure I was well into second trimester last time before I felt it!

annakd1234 · 01/11/2016 11:11

Hello to all the newbies Smile and hugs to everyone not receiving the news they want or having a horrible wait.

Joy early scans often need to be internal to get adequate views, best thing you can do to try and avoid this is go with a really full bladder! I did when I went for mine and could see bean - by dates I was 7+0 the and they measured me at 6+4 so quite early!
