peace I just find it funny howre you're so honest and blunt! I do hope you start to feel better soon.

My booking appointment took 35minutes... said it would take up to 2 hours! Took a blood sample, blood pressure and ticked lots of boxes. Didn't weigh me or anything just took my word for it what I had written down (4 weeks ago when I filled it in but I'm actually 8lbs heavier now haha). Made my 16 week appointment and said I'll get the letter through shortly telling me my scan date. Simple...

Sixisthemagicnumber · 31/10/2016 14:54

I phoned to refer myself to the midwives today. They did say they usually take referrals from 8 weeks pregnant, I am 6+6 so and took the referral anyway. It's a bit Confused to think other people are having booking in appointments by 8 weeks but my area doesn't even take referrals before then.

MoonlightMojitos · 31/10/2016 15:11

Six it does seem to vary so much by area! I booked mine when I was only about 5 weeks and it was the first appointment they had but maybe with yours they can get you an appointment within a few days from when you call them? I expect lots do unfortunately get cancelled doing it this way making them so early on so maybe your way works out better, although you wouldn't have much notice for work.

MumofthreeandBean · 31/10/2016 16:21

moonlight my booking in took 1hr 45mins
We didn't get the paperwork beforehand.
I was weighed and measured, bloods taken but no urine sample which I thought strange!?

I booked mine at 5weeks and they only see you from 8 weeks so I booked well ahead.

MoonlightMojitos · 31/10/2016 16:24

Wow it's crazy how different it can be isn't it. But I was given all the paperwork before so she just had a quick skim over it. Also, everything with me is very straight forward, no medical history etc so it would have taken longer if I did have things like that to discuss I suppose.

MumofthreeandBean · 31/10/2016 16:31

Anyone else's legs really ache???
I can't stand it today!

Mummyh2016 · 31/10/2016 16:37

Can anyone give me ideas of what I can have for tea? Starving hungry but the last 2 nights have proven no matter how hungry I am I can't eat much on an evening/night Sad

I have my booking in appointment at 12.15 next Monday, I've booked half a day off work, need to be at work for 1.45, drs is around 20 mins from work. Do you think ill likely be at work for 1.45? I'm going to tell my boss I might be late and if so I'll make the time up, just thinking I might be better booking the whole day off?

7+3

MumofthreeandBean · 31/10/2016 16:39

mummy if you have health issues and previous pregnancies I would say give yourself 1 1/2 hrs
If healthy and 1st baby you won't be in as long.

FlashingLights · 31/10/2016 17:24

20% off at ASOS today with the code Major20 - including sale items. I've just treated myself to 2 pairs of maternity jeans. Yay to elastic waistbands!

Maxcat12 · 31/10/2016 17:43

Can anyone help clarify something please?
First time pregnancy..... I saw a midwife last week and we went through some questions. She told me my dating scan letter would be coming through the post and will be from 11-13 weeks.
However I have just come home to a letter from the hospital for an appointment when I will be over 16 weeks. It doesn't really say what it is for though....just says at the obstetric clinic.
Anyone else had this? Surely this cannot be my dating scan?
Thanks

peaceloveandbiscuits · 31/10/2016 17:49

Could be your 16 week midwife appointment, or an appointment with a consultant.

Ooh thanks for that FlashingLights!

I take it you just buy your normal dress size in mat wear?

Joy388 · 31/10/2016 18:39

So sorry to hear your news Panda Flowers

I'm still waiting for a 2nd scan in 5 days to see what's going on but blood test results have given me a bit of positivity. They're not doubling over 48hrs, but did increase and they're also pretty high at over 30,000. So now just the agonising waiting game for scan!

Maxcat - I got an appointment for a Mughal test/scan at 10 weeks which is too early. When I called they were really helpful and happy to reschedule. I'd give them a call if I were you - it may just be an admin error.

7+3 (ish)

Joy388 · 31/10/2016 18:40

That should have read 'Nuchal' not 'mughal' Smile

userabcname · 31/10/2016 19:50

Hello all - I have tried to catch up on all I've missed but I'm too far behind everything! Welcome to all new people Smile
My morning sickness has got worse and worse - the last time I ate a meal was last Tuesday and vomiting 3-6 times a day for over a week now. I went to the dr today and been diagnosed with HG plus signed off work for a week. If it doesn't go he will prescribe anti sickness meds. What a pain!
Oh well, it will be worth it in the end. Roll on June!

MundayCakes85 · 31/10/2016 19:51

Booking in tomorrow at 9.30, hoping it doesn't take forever as I'be got to hot foot it to work afterwards! Will be 9 weeks so hope i'I'll get my scan booked whilst I'm there.
Remember answering some weird questions like "are you and DH blood related...?"

KittyVonCatsington · 31/10/2016 19:59

I saw the GP soon after my BFP and they pass on to midwives-booking in is for next week (8 weeks) and scan is booked for when I should be about 12 weeks give or take a few days.

oliver-they can do all the testing up to 14 weeks so I think you should be well within the time frame Grin

Tummy is feeling tighter and tighter!!

Oh Joy - those HCG blood tests results can be so worrying can't they?! I really hope your scan gives some good news

Happy Halloween everyone!!Halloween Smile

Mommytobe2017 · 31/10/2016 20:22

I am so exhausted after today. Can't wait till everyone knows so I don't ave to pretend anymore!

I thought my energy levels were ok but I fell asleep midday yesterday and just been dozing on the sofa... Blush

Hope you all have a good night and welcome to the newbies Flowers

HazyHazyJeans · 31/10/2016 20:25

Oh no Katniss that sounds like a nightmare! You poor thing Sad I really hope things improve for you soon.

I seem to wake up feeling OK then feel more sick as the day progresses. Anyone else like that?

I've got the letter through for my booking in appointment which they've actually called a 'history appointment' which in a way, makes more sense as that's what it's really about.

Skee · 31/10/2016 20:27

Fingers crossed for you Joy x

Katniss that sounds absolutely horrendous, sorry to hear you're suffering with HG. Hopefully things will level out for you soon Flowers x

VeganMama83 · 31/10/2016 20:29

Oh katniss hugs. I've had two friends who has HG and I really feel for you.

Anyone here planning to cloth bum? I wanted to with my boys but didn't. Although we use cloth wipes and I use CSP so going to bite the bullet and cloth bum this time!

Hermano · 31/10/2016 20:36

Hi,
Can I join please? And what's the spreadsheet about? I love a spreadsheet.

I'm 9+4, still not been giving a booking in app yet. Apparently my area does them around 11 weeks and scans around 14. If I could find 5 minutes I'd book a private one but with a busy job, a new house and a lovely 3 yr old taking up all my time I haven't got round to it yet.

This is s much longed for pregnancy after trying for over a year, seeing doctors who told us I have about 2 mouldy eggs left and suggesting we pay them £5k for a round of IVF which alas was unsuccessful.

Moved house while bleeding from unsuccessful IVF, spent 3 weeks moping then most painful period I've ever had, sex once or twice and bang I'm up the duff unexpectedly!

Anyway hello. I have very few symptoms except I feel a bit queasy and tired and I want to eat chips with vinegar all the time. Not much new there I'm just allowed if pregnant!

Anyone else in Southampton and pissed off about the late apps?

Hermano · 31/10/2016 20:37

Oh and how do I make new mum friends if I don't do NCT? I can't really as I already have a 3 yr old can I?

haveacupoftea · 31/10/2016 20:58

Sorry to hear about HG katniss Sad

mummyh get some chicken soup into you Smile

Welcome hermano congrats on your unexpected bfp!

haveacupoftea · 31/10/2016 20:59
