I cooked Spanish chicken with chorizo and roast peppers, roast potatoes and roast butternut squash for dinner tonight and then only managed to eat a few mouthfuls. The rest of the family wolfed it down. I need to increase my dwindling appetite somehow Confused

MumofthreeandBean · 29/10/2016 21:16

Some nights I can't manage to cook, the smell has me heaving, poor kids are living on whatever daddys made or whatever they can be bothered to make themselves, but I guess at 10,13 & 15 it won't hurt for them to top up their cooking skills! 😂

MumofthreeandBean · 29/10/2016 21:17

six Chickened out of calling my dad....

catlady15 · 29/10/2016 21:42

Very sorry to hear the news panda Flowers

Best of luck for tomorrow sweatpea. I'm thinking of telling my parents tomorrow as would like a bit of parental advice and support. It would be their first grandchild though so I'm a bit nervous about getting their hopes up as i know they've been secretly hoping it would happen for a while

I'm now 5+5

Ah this thread has gone crazy. I've been trying to catch up since the last one but it's not going so well.

I'm currently feeling sick for most of the day, although the evenings seem to be worse. The tirednesss is the killer though. No matter how much sleep I get, Im exhausted all day long. My poor DS hasn't had much fun this week! It was awful when we were on holiday as we did so much walking. The heat didn't help either, although it was nice not to feel cold.

I haven't even made an appointment with the midwives yet! I better get cracking with loads of you having appointments already.

Close friends of ours have finally booked their wedding.. in Goa for next October. I'm not sure about going with a just turned 3 year old and a 4 month old. Plus, the hen do is organised for March. Given my history of prem labour, I'm not sure I'll be willing to risk being in another city. We haven't told them yet and I'm not sure how they'll react. Obviously I don't plan our lives around their wedding but the bride to be has said before that I "better not be pregnant" Hmm Not entirely sure she was joking either!

I'm going to try to keep up with this thread now and hopefully add myself to the spreadsheet.

My sickness seems to have taken a turn last few days... before I felt sick at a low level all the time but it was worse when I was hungry. Like as soon as I realised I was hungry I was heaving and had to eat right that second. Last 2 days I've been worrying that I'm not feeling sick anymore but actually I've realised that I now only feel sick after I have eaten?! After dinner tonight (only a chicken and cheese sandwich so nothing too heavy) I threw up within 20 mins. Very odd.... I have such bad wind now too.

lolly I have 2 hen dos next year I now have to drop out of (one abroad in May so won't be able to fly, one in July too soon after having baby!) And I'm dreading telling them. At the end of the day though we've just got to hope they realise life isn't just about them and we can't put things on hold to fit around other arrangements. Fx they don't mind too much.

MumofthreeandBean · 30/10/2016 06:37

lolly & moonlight I ended up losing a friend when my son was 5 weeks old! She had no children and her wedding was 2 hrs from our home with no way to stay over. We managed to get there, last the ceremony but ended up having to leave before the dinner/reception.
We were friends since school and it still hurts me know to think she doesn't speak to me because I had a baby and 2 children under 5.

Hopefully your friends are way more understanding!! But I now hate weddings and vowed to never go to another until the children are grown and moved out!!!

Slept ok last night, apart from dh kicking me 3 times in the night!? Not even a wake up for a wee, but now I'm busting!!

After not getting the benefits of an extra hour in bed, thanks DD I've had my feet up trying to control the nausea that has arrived with a vengeance-thank goodness for CBeebies!!

I have a fair bit of tummy showing already but then, I'm not totally sure it didn't fully disappear last time! Grin

JunebabyT · 30/10/2016 08:59

So sorry panda Flowers

Finally have my booking in appt at the end of this week when I turn 10 weeks. Can't wait to at least have some contact with the midwives etc and get our scan done so we can tell people and make it seem more real! Fingers crossed having the booking in at 10 weeks (which seems late but I phoned at about 5 weeks so just seems to be what they do here) won't mean the scan runs late as well. Starting to feel nervous this morning as still feeling fine on the whole, very little nausea though do have strong sense of smell and very queasy when I open the kitchen bin or do washing up etc! Can't bear the thought it's not growing properly or something's wrong and I'm just merrily going about my business with no idea.

MumofthreeandBean · 30/10/2016 09:02

For those with children already, my tummy is a little wobbly, but it seems to be firming up underneath- but am I imagining it, wanting a bump? I have bloating most days from my IBS but this is low down.
Some days I can hardly do up my trousers and others I seem to gain 2 holes on my belt!!

Can't remember when I started showing with the others but I was massive with all of them!!

MumofthreeandBean · 30/10/2016 09:05

junebaby fully agree!! I am desperate for a scan so I know all is ok in there!! I never waited until 12 weeks before, but our hospitals have changed the way they do things since I was last pregnant 11 yrs ago!! Always got my dating scan pretty much a week after booking in, so was around 9/10 weeks then.

HazyHazyJeans · 30/10/2016 09:14

mumofthree this is my second & I'm showing already. I didn't have a noticeable bump until at least after the 12w scan last time. It's ridiculous, I'm only 6w so it's obviously not the baby but it just seems to have popped. I've not actually put on any weight yet. I was out for lunch yesterday & spent ages trying to find something to wear that hid the bump. I'm quite petite (size 8) usually so it's very noticeable. I'll be the size of a house by 40w at this rate! I know people say you show earlier second time but this has really surprised me so early!

Sixisthemagicnumber · 30/10/2016 10:27

mumofthree I didn't show until 5 months with dc1. I was showing at 3 months with dc2 and I was showing at 8 weeks with dc3 (but my bump was more noticeable at night until around 12 weeks). I reckon I will

Sixisthemagicnumber · 30/10/2016 10:29

I reckon I will be showing soon as I am always massive by 7 months and look like I am having twins by the end. I had diastis recti last time so my muscles are wrecked.

FlashingLights · 30/10/2016 10:43

Thanks for everyones response re; my GP. I know GP's aren't necessary in antenatal care, hence the reason I went straight for the self-referral. If I haven't heard from the midwives by my rescan I'll just give them a call. I'm certainly not going back to him after my rescan as he asked.

skee Your food diary made me giggle, nausea is starting to kick in for me now. I have a slightly reduced appetite but am able to eat, but its after I eat I just feel horrendous. I was exactly the same with my son.

I hope all goes well at your next scan joy

dizzy so sorry to hear about your nan, it must be a very difficult decision for you. I hope you are able to come to a decision soon without too much stress.

Wishing all the best to those telling family and friends! My mum and 3 best friends know. I'm not going to tell anyone else until after our scan in December. Although, I'd quite like to tell my siblings over Christmas dinner - that'd make me almost 14 weeks though.

mumofthree I am super bloated and look like I have a bump too but its definitely just bloating and water retention for me. My uterus is not palpable above my pelvic bone at all, as I expected at 5 weeks.

I'm really undecided about when to tell work - I'm a midwife at the same hospital I'm planning to have the baby with and I'm sure its only a matter of time until I am sussed.

Blueskyrain · 30/10/2016 11:15

Hey, I started to feel sick and horrid about a week ago and have felt continually hungry for about a week and a half - am 6-3 today. But For the last 2-3 days, my nausea has cleared up, so it's now entirely gone, and now the hunger and tiredness too (was out at a party last night till late and feeling quite energised). My boobs are still v sore though.

I'm guessing that morning sickness switching itself off at this stage isn't a good thing...

MissisBee · 30/10/2016 11:35

Bluesky I'm 6+6 my nausea completely disappeared on Tuesday for about 3 days but then has been returning approximately alternate days. At first I was panicking that it had all gone wrong, now I've got used to it randomly settling and am making the most of those days

NappingRabbit · 30/10/2016 11:54

I didn't show until about 16 weeks (to me) and around 20 weeks to other people with DS.

Most evenings I already look around 20 weeks gone - I'm so round and bloated! I wore my normal jeans til 19 weeks last time and they are already uncomfortable. I'm sure it's all bloat as I can't feel hard uterus yet.

I'm hoping to keep quiet at work for a while yet, prob until end of Jan, but my belly might give me away sooner if things continue like this. I'm usually quite slim so it's pretty noticeable.

I had my booking appointment yesterday. All fine but I will prob have to do it all again in a few weeks because I'm going to change hospitals. I thought I would go with the same one as last time for nuchal scan as they offer NIPT for free if you get a high risk result, but I'd like a home birth and the home birth team from the other local hospital comes really highly recommended. I know it's a bit of a backwards way of doing things, book in at one and then swap but never mind. It mainly inconveniences me, having to arrange the transfer and book in again.

I've started becoming very conscious of my stomach. I'm paranoid that I look pg already. I still can't believe it.

I am certain people are going to ask questions. I hate lying and can't wait till everyone knows.

Mooseville · 30/10/2016 14:19

I mean on the larger side, and I've managed to put on half a stone already! I was sure I would be on of those women who lost weight in pregnancy from not drinking and eating healthier - but instead all I fancy eating is bread, crisps and stodge and I'm putting it on already! AAARGH!

Dr's appt tomorrow as I joined a new Drs in the area we're moving to and they said they'd see me first prior to referring me!

Masweetpea1 · 30/10/2016 15:32

I've just told my dad! He was delighted! But said he had guessed as my stomach was getting bigger Blush
I explained about the potential bad news with it, but he was very positive and just looked chuffed to pieces.
He can still surprise me, even now Smile

MoonlightMojitos · 30/10/2016 16:01

I've just eaten an entire Terry's chocolate orange Blush. I've been off sweet food for weeks but that hit the spot.

moose I've always been so lucky with my weight and been slim without really having to watch what I eat. But I've put on 8lbs already because I'm eating all day long. I know that eating for 2 is not true and fully expected to be one of these fantastic pregnant woman who look like they did before but with a football up their top. Bahahaha what a joke, I'm going to be a whale by time baby is due! Not worrying too much though, far too many other things to worry about for now than a bit of extra weight! Keep telling myself I'll get off my arse in 2nd trimester once nausea and exhaustion are gone don't know who I'm trying to fool

Glad it went well sweetpea :)

HazyHazyJeans · 30/10/2016 16:39

My 'bump' is definitely just bloating but it's so noticeable. If anyone I knew saw me, they'd guess for sure!

Glad telling your dad went well sweetpea.

I've been so tired today but DD seems to be have started dropping her nap! I really could've done with an afternoon snooze but never mind. Roll on bedtime! Still feeling sick too Confused

Yes glad it went well sweetpea!

The all day nausea was really getting to me so decided to try some of the sickness bands as gotta be worth a punt for less than a tenner! So far they actually seem to be working! We shall see.
